Exciting Transforming our SoL Campaign Announcements
Thank you Pastor Jody! I love that I can watch you online, even though I’m not near you, I can still feel nearer to Jesus. He is love. Amen!
Excellent job 👏👏👏
Thank you for putting things into perspective. Even though we are entering one of the most challenging times in not only the United Methodist Church, but also in world history, we are stronger through unity than separation.
While I don't believe in coincidence, it is interesting that I was inspired to share this series with my congregation as this virus was hitting the world. I've actually referred to this series a few times during Lent as the situation here in this country has run rampant. But you're right: not only are we entering into challenging times, we've been embroiled in challenging times for several years now, and our strength is in our unity THROUGH separation. Two Sunday's ago, during my children's message, I shared with the children (as I demonstrated how to wash to their hands while singing "Jesus Loves Me") that every time we stay away from each other, we show love. It seems odd to tout being unified by being apart, but that's the reality we are living in. Stay healthy and safe! JT
I’ve been trying to define “the other” for some research project. This provided not only a clear description, but also a way to counteract otherness. Thank you.
We were able to view the service on line. God is good; all the time. Be aware that our last name is misspelled. It is McCutcheon.
This week’s sermon really hit home for me. I haven’t made many new friends since moving to Queen Creek 2 years ago. most of this is my fault. I have moved all of my life & quickly made friends, but now I have problems getting out of my home. possibly a result of PTSD from having been a nurse in Vietnam. Almost 50 years later it hit. It seems to have started with all of the fighting in 2016 Elections & our never ending wars & our government not letting our soldiers go in fight immediately & come home ... IF WE MUST GO TO:WAR AT ALL! I have help from the VA AND A LOVING FAMILY & old friends & it was getting better, but all of this hate & division in our government workers & private citizens has exacerbated it again. We live in the most wonderful country ever & yet we aren’t grateful or even appreciative of all God has given us :(. Go and live in another country & then come home & complain! I don’t want to be involved in arguments, but can’t we remember to have calm peaceful DISCUSSIONS together of each of our own ideas & areas of disagreements? Like we used to do. All sides have good and not so good points, let’s sort those out & choose the best of all possibilities. Perhaps, then there won’t be as much loneliness out there. I firmly believe that God wants us in faith to work to heal this seemingly endlessly destructive direction we are in... our Founding Fathers worked so diligently to form as close to God’s plan for a loving, caring, hopeful country that would spread around the world... can we work to NOT destroy it after all of these years? We are so BLESSED ... let’s live and share those blessings.
Agreed, friend. ❤

Yes! Let's continue being the Church together!
In my house we don't crush the freedom of religion of other family members. If someone believes Christian claims, that is okay. If another family member believes it to be a steaming pile, they also have that right. Nobody imposes their beliefs on anyone else. Wake up and smell the freedom of religion.
There's lot's of evidence to suggest that many young people lose their faith long before they go off to college. Some of them never had any sort of faith to start with. there are naturally atheistic people who never buy into religious claims anytime or for any reason. In other cases young people just go along for the ride because it's easier not to rock the boat when you are still financially dependent on your parents. I see these kids all the time, the ones who continuously question, analyze and discover. The kids who reject the offer of certainty and an impermeable faith that can't give way are the kids for whom I have the greatest respect.
