Does look a bit grim in the glass. Doesn't always tell the story of the beer but by the looks it doesn't hit the notes.

Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is passionfruit and mango with grainy malt and citrus. The flavour is moderate, light sweet, with a smooth, malt, juicy tropical fruits, mango, passionfruit, light sugary sweet, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation, alcohol worms your throat. Decent.

Cloudy with a yellow color and white foam that slowly falls. Sweet tropical fruits dominate, with mango and passion fruit at the forefront, pineapples and peaches in the background. Pink grapefruit and canned tangerines. Low carbonation, surprisingly light body, extremely drinkable.

I try to buy 3 or 4 every year so I can start doing some vertical tastings at some point in the future. Normally have one with my Xmas dinner.

I went to my local offi, which i haven't been into for ages. I bought a oj8.5 and a polish 7.1. I am now intrigued by these strong lagers. Will have to try this one if I can find it. But no park benches. 😂. There is a shop near my daughters school.....

£2.29 in my local shop not a bad taste to be honest. I enjoyed it. More of a bitter man myself, but not bad at all.

The version of Tennent's Super you get there in the UK is the 7,5% ABV brewed in Luton; here in Italy we get the 9% ABV brewed in Germany (I suspect in Bremen), with a slightly different logo. It's very popular and sold either in 27,5 cl bottles or in 44 cl cans. Either way, the Super is owned by AB Inbev and it's not to be confused with the other Tennent's beers produced by Wellpark Brewery. I like the 9% version, expecially paired with baked chicken or cheese-heavy pizza.

I’ve not had the brewdog one before and I do prefer the more chocolatey tase would you say the brewdog one is the best for they?

I really like the beer and definitely pick up marshmallow, vanilla and chocolate, agree with it being to thin though, cheers

The way NM is constantly throwing out novelty beers makes me think they just make a couple of generic base brews & toss in a bunch of flavourings which will never make a good beer. Artificial flavourings take away all the artistry of beer production & just make them into beer alcopops. I think their target market is people that don't drink craft or ale who're buying it for people that do so all the effort goes into the can design, not the beer.

You referenced it Chris, but I so miss Roaster Coaster. My favourite beer of all time. Don't suppose Brewdog and Evil Twin will ever bring it back though

Don’t think this is one for me. What did catch my eye in Tesco however was the Vault City Gingerbread Latte imperial stout. I can see that working. Have you picked that one up by any chance?

Adnams have really lost themselves in recent years trying to branch out too much too fast & it's nearly killed the company. Ghost Ship used to be a favourite of mine but bottles are disappointing now & on tap it's mostly miss. I did recently find a good pint of it that reminded me why I used to love it but it's still not the uniquely memorable standout that it used to be. Maybe I'm crazy & my tastebuds have just changed but I fondly remember Ghost Ship having more of a refreshing melon flavour & a crisp aftertaste with a hint of biscuit whereas now it's dominated by citrus, especially grapefruit which lingers on the aftertaste & that's one flavour I hate in my ales unless it's done subtley.

I don't like the use of the obvious R&R bed and usual cupboard set up that comes with it. It's very generic, 50 in a dozen. Clearly works for a fair amount of people which is good, just not for us, our lay out will be quite different. We're converting our Vivaro atm.

It is a shame you can't buy single bottles/cans from Adnams to give the full range a try, only limited options in supermarkets near me.

I love ghost ship I brewed the Brew Bros all grain kit and it also was absolutely beautiful. I definitely fancy trying that cheers 👍🍻

Having the double in the name is a bit misleading, double dry hopped more like. Sounds like it has a bit of rye in the grain bill.

NM used to do a Neapolitan pale a few years ago, that was weird, prob works better here

I like a sweet stout, I'll be picking this up. The thing is they've put ice cream stout on the label and therefore if you're expecting anything else then people shouldn't pick it up.......simple.

Floc are a brilliant brewery, worth a trip to their tap. I'm lucky my local occasionally has them on

Coner McGregors Forged is better than Guinness and Black Heart, but it is difficult to get hold of in the UK.

One of the nicest "bready" tasting lagers that I had was while living abroad in Chile was Royal Guard. Not much in the flavour department but very nice as a thirst quenching summer lager. They also have a brewer there called Kunstmann which produces a great range of artisanal beers.

Chris use a glass for original and only poor in some of the can...and to of head before every sip.I enjoy all 3 products

I have a local booths to me got this and hofbrau and few other oktoberfest beers for £3 a bottle absolute bargain brilliant beers wouldn't know anything different with german beers

Man, I live in Australia and it's near impossible to get good European beers here. All the bottle shops are owned by 3 major companies and there is pretty much no independent bottle shops. Online is OK but still. I loved travelling around Germany and trying all the local beers at their restaurants and bars. We really could learn a thing or two.

Yes, fully agree. This year's Hofbrau is fantastic compared with last year's and Augustiner is as good as ever, both are standout compared with the other 4 offerings this year.

I liked this one too. Just finishing it now. I also didn't mind the Zombie Death but i love sweet stouts and zombie films so maybe im biased. 😂

We’ve tried these Morettis, the sale di mare and the l’ authentica alongside with Peronis’ Nastro Azzurro and find this one the best tasing… I’m not a big fam of lager thought, I’d rather drink some good thick Belgian instead.

I really enjoy this one, I normally steer clear of alcohol free beer in bars and at home because I’ve always associated this taste that for me has got better in recent times, but it’s gone more from downright horrid to mildly unpleasant and it’s always been a trade off where I’m usually gutted about not drinking. This is the first one I’ve had that I’ve actively enjoyed and not been bothered about not drinking.

I enjoyed this lager, when I tried it.
