Hi! Thanks a lot for the feedback, but I don't understand exactly what you are referring to. Are you referring to the prelude, the fugue, or both? Any specific part or the whole piece? Also, what do you mean by saying that the notes don't match? Do you mean harmonically or melodically? In either case, the piece was intended to be modern. I really appreciate it when I receive feedback, I am just looking to clarify a few things. Thanks again!

@@notesandscores8000 I'm talking about the melody, harmony and rhythm of the first half where the issues I talked about are more accentuated. The other half is better and less clunky.

@@xedone I see. The piece can definitely be improved, but I need a bit more specific advice to do so. I am still glad you listened to it and cared enough to comment, and I hope to hear your feedback on past and future compositions.

Thank you! I got the idea from one of Prokofiev's sonatas, where he occasionally makes a measure one beat shorter, giving a sense of urgency. Looking at it now, it would probably have been more correct to have it in 2/4 and 3/8, but i wanted to emphasize the -1 beat aspect of it. Anyway, glad you liked it!

That part is definitely my favorite, glad it had the element of surprise. Also, idk if it is 'allowed' to end it in another key, but i wanted a more tragic ending and to make it less repetitive. Anyway, thanks for watching!

@@notesandscores8000 usually in sonata form it ends on the tonic key. since it says that its your first composition I wouldnt go too out of norm bounds. it feels like as if the recapitulation was a false lead because it seems like it goes back into the development. This also happens because your recap is so short, if the c minor was for the coda, it will be better to make a bigger difference

I’m going to be honest, this doesn’t great, it’s terrible. There is no distinct line between what is melody or treble or bass. There doesn’t sound to even contain a message, none of the instruments line up or make sense when played.

​@@Sudden_Tax I appreciate the feedback, thanks a lot! I didn't plan to make a beautiful and harmonious piece here. Rather, I tried to express a feeling of tribalism and wildness, having taken some inspiration from Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" (not that I can even compare in the slightest). To achieve this, I composed for each instrument as if the others didn't exist, as well as used a lot of dissonances. I get why you don't like the piece, it's not something I listen to for enjoyment either, but that's not its intended purpose. Anyway, thank you for the feedback!

@@notesandscores8000 i would agree, it's not a beautiful flowing piece. Its a test of the more loose feeling. Even then it's still interesting to listen to

@@notesandscores8000 Typically speaking, the key in the title refers to the key the piece begins in though. That aside, minuets are also typically in ABA for so normally it should end in A major anyway. That aside though I have to compliment you. It's a very charming minuet and I like it! Good job!
