It’s not a Cat tho, it’s a Cummins which was an Engine of the 70’s
The 1805"s had a 3208 cat in them.

Agco should have painted their 4wd with massey colors and kept the line going.
Massey Ferguson was still it’s own Company when this Tractor was produced. The last year for Massey was 1982. Several of the big Machine Companies went under in the 80s including IHC.
AGCO. ( Allis Gleaner Company ) did in fact keep the color Red ). The Red is Massey tint not to be confused with International Harvester’s Oxblood Red. There is a definite difference when compared side by side. AGCO did away with the Original Massey Flint Metallic in favor of an even darker Grey. Flint Metallic was a beautiful contrasting color. Over the years from the Their start, Massey had three different Grays. Prior to the Merger with Massey Harris, Ferguson Tractors and Implements were a very light Gray. Then, after a brief color trial and error period, the Company ( MHF ) settled on Flint Metallic. After the acquisition by ACCo, the yet darker Gray. Fergieman

Some others came with V8 Detroits or V12 Detroits I think. V8 CAT, 6 cylinder KTA CUMMINS, yeah! Badass man powerhouses noise and rolling coal pulling the tillers!
My friend in Saskachewant Canada have the 4800..4840..4880 and my favorite the 4900 straight pipes 375 horsepower very loud....
Any good for pulling trees out by the roots ? Not the 20 metre high type of course! Leave those for Sasquatch to hurl about 😂

a few years later in the 5000 series they put in the 855 six cylinder, any one know where to get the change over frame extentions as our 903 is wore out

@@philippetays4263 Deere also had a Problem Tractor in the 8850 - V8. Considering that Deere is a Company still in Business, unlike Massey, parts are more easily accessible. Have You checked the Salvage Yards? As far as the 8850 Deere is concerned, the best fix is aftermarket, not Deere. Perhaps You should consider making a change to a Trans or Engine Trans Combination to something more modern and easily accessible parts. Fergieman

Love the big VT 903 Cummins motors. If ya look after them and don't rev them to 3000 all day long they last forever. Ya gotta keep em revin over 1800 and not let them lug down low. That will kill them just like over revving. They are a good ballast for a tractor because they weigh so much. Iv got one in a coe Kenworth with a turbo off a N14 Cummins. It'll pump up to 20 psi, almost double the stock turbo. It starts boosting earlier and runs a lot cleaner. Good investment. And they sound beautiful when working hard and the turbo is whistling loud. Very loud.
Used to have one of these when I was younger... What a dinosaur but plenty of power with the 903. We got it pretty tired and wore, replaced the engine with a turbo version

Well Harv I am not a millwright yet although my big epic plan is to get my lazy ass in and write ...I have started my own repair shop ...I work on everything also bought an excavator ,dump truck,and a payloader and I do a bit of that...I also a/c repair on the side and farm , and do custom farming as well I also managed to get myself three Combines so we do that as well .....and after all that I find time to drink beer... What are you up to Harv?
