มุมมอง 1.1K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Storing water is crucial for bugging in. I have found that you don't need to buy expensive storage containers, and special chemicals. In this video I show you how I store water in empty soda bottles with bleach. I also give you an idea how much water you really need to store for one week without running water.

Why I stockpile alcohol.
มุมมอง 4.6K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Looking for a good barter item? Pick up some alcohol on sale at your local liquor store. I prefer large stores as they many times have the best prices. They make a great barter item, and even if nothing happens, the price of alcohol will never be getting any cheaper.

    Solar fence! FYI: Facing west, 100% vertical, only gives you 10- 40% of its rated output.

    A single suggested serving of Tang contains 29 grams (1.0 oz) of sugar (representing 94% of the product's dry weight); 10% RDA of carbohydrates; 100% RDA of vitamin C; 6% RDA of calcium and has a total of approx 120 calories. A gram of sugar is about 4 calories. Calories from sugar are “empty calories” because they do not provide any nutrients. Too much sugar increases the risk of many health problems (weight gain, obesity, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, and tooth decay). I wonder: how many people will drink only one serving each day? I loved the taste as a child but I avoid it now.

    So you keep saying that you're heating your house for free. I'm assuming you're using fuel to go pick up all the free wood, electricity or gas to chop up the wood into sawdust and electricity to shred all the paper. Pretty sure it's not free.

  • @sweetsavorywords3506
    @sweetsavorywords3506 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can do something similar. You don't need a mold. Just roll it up tie, soak in salt water and let it dry. Instant fire log. Do them in the summer months to have for winter.

    The handles on these are flimsy and worthless. I took them off. I lay to pieces of 2x4 across the top and then stack garden bricks on them to squeeze out the water. I use a dollar store Turkey baster to suck the water off the top of the bricks when they are forming. I live them in the mold for a few days adding weight as I go. I never have saw dust so I use coffee grounds. The more compressed you get these the longer they burn. I also use a big drill and cement mixer paddle to slurry it up.

    The great thing about being frugal is,you realise you don't need much to have a comfortable life. When we accumulate a lot it's nice to share with those who are not able to. Funny seeing this from all those years ago. And here we are, it's about to happen. You are a smart man.

    There is no secret to heat, the more watts the more heat. Any 1500 watt heater will give out the exact same amount of heat as any other 1500 watt heater. This one uses very little power because it gives very little heat,

    A time saver is to take the lid that fit the bucket and put holes in it. Then you can put it back on and then turn it all upside down then the water will leak out leaving just the wet paper mixture to deal with.
