excellent. thank you. great comforting and educational voice. again, thanks
Very helpful! I have a 970 mower deck 38" in diameter. The strange thing is mine does not have the brace bar which bolts to the vertical fin on the top of the deck just ahead of the jacksheave pulley (black one in which you replaced the bearings) and wraps around the vertical shaft which pivots the arm the jacksheave pulley is pressed to. Maybe there are multiple versions of the 38" mower deck. I will have to look again, maybe mine is just missing that brace. I recently rebuilt the engine on my mower and noticed when everything went back together and I engaged the PTO to start the blades moving, there was a lot more resistance and lots of screeching. Eventually this jacksheave pulley came off and let go both of the belts. Thankfully neither belt seems to have sustained much damage and they were almost new anyway so I'll reuse them. Again, thank you for the video this helped me see what the parts *should* look like when they are all functioning and correctly installed.
Just did this today on my 111. Thanks for the video, it helped me out!
I HAVE PULLED AND REINSTALLED THE TANK WITHOUT PULLING THE WHEEL.NOT EASY BUT IT CAN BE DONE.
Tony: It is possible because it is made of plastic. Try a little lube like Vaseline.
Gary I'm having a difficult time getting my jets with new orings to seat properly. Is there a chance the transfer tube has constricted? I've pinched the orings twice.
Do you know if an LT166 model takes same part numbers?
The LT 133, 155 and 166 should all be similar except for the deck size
Thank you very much
These carburetors are ABSOLUTE JUNK. Even from the factory. CHINESE GARBAGE.
Thanks for making this video, it helped me fix up my JD 111
Very helpful video, my mower was doing the same thing, I put a fuel pump on it and realized minimal fuel getting to the filter. Just ordered my parts. Thanks
Your float is in way too high.
It's cheaper just to buy a new carburetor. I had a nikki carburetor on my lt1000 I took it apart to clean it and the gasket expanded and I couldn't get it back together. I went to get a rebuild kit and the kit was 50 dollars. I got a whole brand new nikki carburetor for 20 dollars.
Main Jet needs an o-ring to hold it in. Link above
Is the main jet supposed to hold itself in? Mine falls out under its own weight.
What oil do you like to use. Have a 31C707-0603-E1
Great video.
Perfect video Gary. Got 1 just like yours. 👍 Thanks a million!
Anders try ebay for aftermarket carbs
I love this video. It's exactly what I need. I'm looking forward to trying to rebuild my carb now that I've got an idea of what I have to do. I've already ordered the Stens pressure tester and the parts. However, I'm not super confident I'll get it right, so, my Plan B is to buy a new carb. However, the trouble I'm having is working out what part number I need. The only numbers on the body of the carby is "209", which doesn't seem to be enough numbers for a part number. Do you happen to know the correct part number for the entire carby and where I might be able to buy one? Any help appreciated.
Thanks for this and thanks for the part numbers.
Very well done. Thank you.
Hello...if I do have jets switched what would the symptoms be?
Jets just balance fuel delivery. Would run rich on one cyl and lean on the other.
@@garyprice6122 both my plugs look the same but especially when hot hard starting.
Try Amazon for the thumb pump....www.amazon.com/MOTOALL-Carburetor-Detector-Tillotson-Replaces/dp/B08Q775F4Q/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=carburetor+pressure+tester&qid=1625844588&sr=8-3
I can you tell me what s the tool are you use for the carburator test. Thks may buen video
The gasket that had the damage, the one that is for selling the inlet. That looked like it was the leak point?
You have a video of the main jet o ring reinstall into the plastic pickup tube housing? You said it comes out from the bottom. Other styles of this carb drop in from the top side?
so this could be avoided by turning off the gas after each use? also sounds like I should keep one of these gaskets kits and needles in on hand? check the oil and smell it for any gas before each use as well? thank you for your time.
Great Video
Well ... I was told that my main jet was clogged. As my engine stalled out wen PTO WAS ENGAGED... So I took my carb off and well Lost the main jet... NO CLUE IT WAS EVEN THERE. TO BEGIN WITH. IT RAN BUT WORSE THE EVER. ONLY SLOWLY SPEEDS UP. BUT THEN FLOODS OUT BLAK SMOKE TERRIBLE. BUT. STILL NOT FIXED. LOW COMPRESSION. BAD GEAD GASKET. COMMON ON 19.5 intek Briggs. Single So good luck people. Only 150 hrs. Wow. Pos design. In husky zero turn. Mower. But they put it lots. Of stuff. Only 150 hours.... WOW THAT MADE ME PISSY. HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE!! Thanks for this video. Now she ROCKS. JUST A PAIN IN THE BUTT TO FIX A LOW HR MOTOR I THOUGH.
Now I have a good idea of why my gas tank leaks if really full or mower is tilted up. TIA for the knowledge.
Thanks for showing the jet in detail, of course I had it misplaced :-)
Justin you can get the jet O-rings here www.ebay.com/itm/174119875402 you don't need to buy a new jet.
Thank you so much sir! My carb got varnish build up and I've been cleaning it, usually I blow it out with an air compressor, went to blow it out and the main jet blew right out. You confirmed what it was as I've never seen a main jet at the bottom before, didn't know what replacement part to order but you said the main jet so thank you so much! :) :) :)
Complete kits can be found on ebay
Do you have part numbers for the complete rebuild kit and jet?
Good job Gary! Thanks.
Nice video
Where do you get a hand pressure tester like you have Gary ??? Would like to buy one for me fella. Thanks VF
nice video. i dont see the link for the partd
George ..just key the part number into your browser.
Mechanics wanting a less expensive version of that cool Stens-style thumb pump can grab a cheap blood pressure cuff ("manual aneroid sphygmomanometer") for 20 bucks or less. It's a little more awkward but does the job nicely.
I loved when he is explaining where to place the bolts" "it is obvious of course" when there were at least 6 different holes. Sound alot like like my physics profession explaining a very difficult problem. It always obvious to those that know.
Great video 👌
Good job with the video. Thanks for sharing this. I wonder how many guys replaced the fuel pump, got annoyed it still wouldn't start, and had the shop pick the mower up. One word of caution, the edges of the axle where the keyway goes in the slot are razor sharp. Be careful when wiping off that axle or you could get sliced up. Mine got me, DUH!
Keyway slot is sharp for sure, will slice you good! Ask me how i know.
Finally! The video that I was looking for. Good video and parts numbers too! Thanks!
Joesph I haven't run across that one yet. I would get the manual and go from there for parts. Free manual here ... www.briggsandstratton.com/na/en_us/support/manuals.html
@Gary Price. I was rebuilding the exact carb in vid other day. I have another carb that I am going to get to soon. I'm a little confused unless this is another ver of carb. Meaning my carb I will be working on. It looks the same except where main gas hose hooks up. Stead of on side this one is a 90 degree or so. Inside the carb is big spring that sits on top and goes over main jet unlike my other. Also the big bowl gasket is just a little differ. Looks like one in vid just differs some. Also the O ring that goes over plastic nub and sits down in carb. This one has none unless someone robbed it. So I do not know if this has one? Numbers on carb are Nikki 696353 GO27O1 1927 B. What can you tell me about this carb and what part number is it? I need to find the O rings and or that gasket for it and main jet?
LOL I just finished putting mine back together after stripping it down for power washing. I could not figure out where that bracket came from..... you have saved the day sir. Also my pickup tube is metal. Idk if someone already fixed it or it was a revision that took place before this one was made.
Thank you very helpful video.
what is the part number on the Nikki carb you are working on that .
