👋🏾Hi! Welcome to my channel. My name is Molesia, and I am a medical doctor (no longer practicing), a lover of healthcare related topics, wife 💍, mom👦🏾🧒🏾,empath, and a junior gardener.
❤️I would love for you to join me as I uncover my love for gardening layer by layer (by any means necessary), and harvesting food in my small suburban back yard in Long Island, NY (at least until I get my 2-5 acres) 🫠.
🇬🇾 I grew up in Guyana (member of CARICOM), a beautiful country in the South America where I worked and practiced as a Family Physician for several years. I also love to cook, using mostly what I grow, and I am currently experimenting with food preservation methods.
💵Aside from gardening and mom things, my days are occupied being a Data Analyst (passion) for a major healthcare company in the tristate area.

Bountiful Harvest After 3 Weeks of Garden Neglect 🌱🌶️
In this video, I harvest from my garden after 3 weeks of being away on vacation with my family. It was such a nice break from my daily life but i was happy to be back tending to garden. The garden is an overgrown, beautiful mess and I LOVE IT. Before I left I installed the Greenstalk Irrigation System, so my vegetables and flowering plants were taken care of. The plants in the raised beds? Well, they didn't do that great because they are not on an irrigation system. I was still able to harvest lots of tomatoes though.

After having a very successful indoor growing season, it is now time for me to dismantle my #gardyn 4.0 and give it a good clean before replanting. I have been loving this system. It is extremely easy to maintain, with the help of the App, and it provides lots of food and herbs for my family and I to enjoy. I have zero regrets with this system. If you are on the fence about this system, I’m her...

Hi! What is that green veggie?
Bitter melon.
I really want one but I’m scared of getting bugs. Has that been your experience. Any insight would be appreciated
So far bugs have not been a big issue for me. Due to the fact alone that it’s soil-less, eliminates most of the pest pressure you would have in an outdoor garden with soil. Currently I have some spider mites on some of my leaves. My plan is to harvest what’s good, discard what isn’t, and clean out the tank completely. Then replant fresh pods. Hope this helps and good luck.
Finally a good video about this.
Do not follow these directions. This is a deep clean, not a refresh. Make sure to lift the lid by the columns, not the light bars. Make sure to lift the pump before removing the lid. No need to remove the columns when doing a deep clean. Use deep cleaning method in the app using citric acid.
Thank you for your feedback🙏🏾
I would think that water is ok just add more water
It's recommended to clean your tank and system regularly, as natural buildup of residue, fungi, and other materials can affect the device's performance.
Hi thank you for the super helpful video!! I’m thinking to get one myself but not sure if it’s easy to maintain when it comes to cleaning - how often do you need to clean it? And do I need to clean out all planets for it? It seems quite a lot to do it? Thank you!
It’s important that when you’re growing your plants, you monitor the root growth. If left unattended, they will grow in between all the “cracks and cranny” and that contributes to the overall difficulty when deep cleaning. If you have pieces of root systems in the columns, when deep cleaning you will need to make sure you get into all those spaces in the columns which is very hard and time consuming. I found that out the hard way. Since I made this video I haven’t deep cleaned again. I will prob deep clean 3 times per year. It’s not necessary to deep clean often, Just monitor the roots, and keep them contained in the y pods, and every month you lift the columns off and clean out the water tank. Just add in clean water with your nutrients. Thank you for watching 🙏🏾
Thanks for sharing!

Is that pvc?
“The Gardyn's columns, yPods, Pod Caps, and water tank are not made of PVC but made using food-grade, FDA-compliant, ABS plastic, commonly used in medical-grade equipment and children's toys. The Gardyn 4.0 & 3.0 lid top is made from Hevia wood, also known as rubberwood, a type of hardwood tree in the maple family”. I hope this helps 🙏🏾

Did you notice any bugs around it? Thats my main reason of not purchasing it because every time i try grow a plant at home i get massive amount of bugs attracted to it
Not particularly. I have one of those sticky traps next to my hydroponic systems (I have multiple) and I’ve only ever notice a few gnats on the trap over months. So I would say it’s not a big concern to have. The watering system is controlled so it’s not overly moist. Hope this helps 🙏🏾
can you give me a 6 month update? there’s no update on how it preformed
I will as soon as I can. It performed ok for me. It really is only for leafy greens and herbs with shallow root systems. Anything with deep roots won’t be successful in my opinion. I also use it to start seedlings then transplant them to my raised beds or pots. Overall, it is a decent tabletop system that does its job 🙏🏾

Hi Molesia, I just bought the Vertefarm! I'm so excited. But where do you get seedlings? Vertefarms only has lettuce seedlings to sell at the moment, I guess because they're a new company. Thanks for posting.
Hi Cynthia. Congratulations first of all of buying this system. It produces tons of salad greens. Yes, you’re correct. Vertefarm currently only has lettuce varieties on their website for sale. I’ve been experimenting with planting some of my own seedlings. I can give an update once I’m successful. Thank you for watching🙏🏾
Never heard of this system! Holy cow. Do you like it?
Yes, I love it. It does extremely well with the seedlings from the website. However, I’ve been experimenting with growing my own vegetables from seeds. Once I’m successful with that, I can give an update. But the system produces so much greens, that it’s difficult for my family of 5 to keep up. Thank you for watching🙏🏾

@@lifestylebymolesiaCongratulations 😊. You won the contest I was running.
What contest? I’m not sure 🤔
Really cool 😎
Thank you for watching🙏🏾
Really cool. I better not show Jeanne or she'll want one!
Hahahah. Show her, she will love it. So much salad greens, we can barely keep up 🙏🏾
Thank you for watching🙏🏾

This is beautiful 😍 great job 🥬🥬
Thank you. I’m really enjoying it 🙏🏾
Ok, Today i ll buy one, thank you ❤
Happy growing🙏🏾
Never heard of this system until today 😮. I currently have a Lettuce Grow and Click and Grow but this looks cool. Not sure if I would have the room for it though. Can’t wait for your updates on it.
I didn’t either until recently but it is performing well so far. I post some pictures soon 🙏🏾
Thank you!!
Looks great 😮
Thank you 🙏🏾
Look gorgeous

6 months and no results to show in the video? Does not look good for the product :)
I believe there’s a much better way to request an update on a product or video. Don’t you think? Nothing here is mandatory. Thanks for watching🙏🏾
@@lifestylebymolesia isn't that what a 6 month performance review & update should be ALL ABOUT?
@@d7samurai In the video, I spoke about how the system performed for me over the past 6 months of having it. I discussed my set backs, and how it performed. I even spoke about contacting the company and I shared the advice they gave me which also helped others. Other than that I’m not sure what else I needed to discuss in my 6-month review. If you need a more in depth review, I invite you to go do your own research 🙏🏾.
@@lifestylebymolesiayou did not discuss how it performed at all. this is nothing but a semi-instructional video about how to rearrange the compartments and add soil. you mentioned that you contacted customer service to buy their own brand of coconut soil, but that's it. there's not a single piece of information on how it or the system at large performed over the 6 months by way of what it is intended to to; to grow herbs. we hear nothing about the success of that, we don't get to see ANY results. so no, this is not a "6 month performance review" - there's not even a conclusion or summary. it's more of a limited "how to" in terms of adding soil.
@@d7samurai I am sorry that the review was not in-depth enough for you and I appreciate your feedback and understand that you were expecting more. When something does not serve me, I move on. So, like said before, instead of taking the time, going back and forth on the ins and outs of my review which you did not like or appreciate, I invite you to do your own research and find the review that is more suited and works to you and your needs 🙏🏾.
❤️
Pak Choi looks great and your stew is amazing🥰💚🐝🙏🏿
Thank you so much. We love it. I’m so happy to be able to grow it🙏🏾
It’s beautiful to look at. Really just for herbs and leafy vegetables with shallow roots. Thanks for watching🙏🏾
Looks really good.

I'm fascinated!!!
Thank you for watching. We’ve had some below freezing days here in NY but so far most of them are good🙏🏾
They look great!! Just subscribed :)
Thank you so much. I can’t wait for them to bloom❤
Do you add the nutrient to both chambers or just the main one?
Hi. Add nutrients A and B to the main compartment (bigger). Thank you for watching🙏🏾
@@lifestylebymolesia Thank you I thought it worked that way but wanted to be sure. You have a blessed day.
I admire your work.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching 🙏🏾

How does the lighting work? Do you have to manually turn it on each day? Is it app controlled and comes on at a certain time? Please explain because I’m considering buying an Auk
I turns on/off by itself on a 12hr timer from the time you turn it on.
Hi Justin. It doesn’t come with an app. Once you set up the machine with all your seeds, nutrient and water, please follow the steps below: 1. Fill the water tank to the maximum mark. 2. Reset Auk by holding down the light button for approximately 30 seconds until both the plant light and the light in the base plate turn off. 3. Re-place the plant chip to initiate the startup. 4. Measure exactly how much Auk has watered after 1.5 hours from the maximum mark to where it is now (it should be within the range of 0.3-0.5 inches). Hope this helps. I will be uploading a video soon talking about all the challenges and solutions with this system. 🙏🏾
@@marielinelaroche810that is correct. There isn’t an app. Once set up is done the light comes on and off on a 12 hr timer. So it all depends on the time you did the initial set up🙏🏾
Good stuff 👏.
Thanks for the visit🙏🏾
It’s 4 minutes before any instructions 6 minutes and I still don’t know what the white tubes are for
The white looking tubes are replacement parts of the atomizer system. The video was already too long to mention everything and the atomizer came ready-to-use. No set up required. What you saw, is the very basics and what is needed to start growing with this system immediately out the box 🙏🏾
If you’re going to do a demonstration you need to do it step-by-step from start to finish. You talked about filling up the tank however, I don’t see both sides of the tank filled out. Is that what you have to do?👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
If you took the time to look at the video before commenting, you would’ve have heard me say that I didn’t initially fill up both sides of the tank and I eventually did😏. Thanks for watching and commenting though 🙏🏾
