Journal With Me No.26: Catching Up | Midori 1Day 1Page
Hello friend!
It's been a while since I did a journal with me video.
I miss it actually. But truth be told, I haven't been journaling creatively since my second son, Noah, passed on.
But lately, I've been feeling the itch to do it again.
All thanks to @MyLifeMits for inspiring me.
So, here I am doing it as if for the first time again with you.
I hope you enjoy this catch up journal with me video.
Love, April.

Sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Take your time healing. May you find comfort in the process of journaling and your faith.💜🦋
I was looking for a video like this! Thankyou
Did you see regular artists gouache there? Non acrylic?
looking forward to the next meet up ❤
It was a fun day to meet such interesting group of people. I didn't know you could do so much with your planner! Till the next!
Sad that I missed this, but very happy that is was indeed a success. Congrats Mumsh! ♥♥♥ Always
Love it, I subscribed
Can you tell me if you sell your products on a site the US can access? I love your paper goods but can’t purchase on the shopee site. Thank you.
Ooh. Ive been eying that Safari. Nice haul, April
Hi April! 🤗
Hi Odette. Thank you for being here! ☺️
Anong maganda, yung 101? 202? 303? or 404?
I’m using the 303 in the video so far, I’m good with it. But I haven’t tried the others though.
Wow, what an awesome store! I could spend a whole day there. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching, Connie. Oh yes! One day would be just about right!
❤
=)
How precious is she! Thank you for showing your journal stuff. I hope your neck feels better.
Thank you so much, my neck is better I need to do the exercises daily. Can’t complain as long as it doesn’t hurt. Thank you for watching 😄
I really like your travel journal. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much, Connie. 🥰
Looks like a fun place to visit! Thanks for sharing.
Yes! It is! Thank you for watching, Connie =)
Also Art tool kit had some very tiny collapsible water containers. See Buffy Kaughman Watercolor Pour on you tube for her six favorite Daniel Smith colors. I used those plus cobalt teal and green apatite genuine so my palette holds 8 colors. Happy Traveling and Painting!
Yeah! I’ve been seeing Art Tool kit. Although, it’s gonna be quite expensive especially for the shipping to my country. But I’m really hoping I can find a second hand here. Thanks for the reco regarding the palette :)
I’m considering a 5 year for daily gratitude. My youngest child, Capri, passed away in 2021 when she was just two months old. It shattered our hearts and our other five children kept us going for sure. Grief is a difficult journey to travel and journaling has helped especially gratitude for the reasons you talked about in this video. I am also working on maximizing my journals and I want to use them to the fullest. So I have one planner, one personal journal and thinking about one of the A6 Five year journals. Still thinking on that one. Praying for you! Saint Capri, Ora pro nobis.
Hi Jane. Thank you so much for sharing your experience too. I was praying that we had more time with our Noah. But I can imagine how more difficult it could be as you spend more memories. What do you have in mind for the A6 5year journal?
First off, I am so sorry for your loss! I hope you can find a lot of healing, and I hope many miracles come your way. I had to share though, I use my weeks in a similar way, and I love it as well. I add washi and stickers too, and use the right side for some weekly journaling. Lots of space gets unused for me too, but I'm ok with it. 😊
Thank you. I truly appreciate your comment. Are you planning to get new Hobonichi weeks for next year?
@AprilSanPedro I am. I ordered the Through the Purple Night in Japanese (so pretty!). I only have ordered 2 planners (other than a 5-year) so far for 2025, and it was one of the 2. ❤
So sorry about your experience. Give yourself some time to heal. 🫶
Thank you so much Mela… road to healing indeed. ☺️
It's fun to watch videos of people's setups. This video is inspiring me to make a video of my travel watercolor set for my own TH-cam channel
I’m glad this inspired you too. And I’m glad to find like-minded people 😊
Is your shop is located in manila?
Hello Christie. I have a stockist in Frankie General Store in SM Aura :)
Hi love your Bible we’re did you buy it from. Thank you 🙏

Thank you!! 😊
Your style is my style of art. I like it simple. Thank you for the inspiration. ❤️
Oh, thank you so much Brenda... I appreciate it.
Thank you for the video. I just really want to know if my pen actually fit into the bottle. Luckily you using that same pen I needed to test❤❤
Yay! I'm happy to help!
May i ask which bible version you read. I read the KJV
Hello. It's CSB bible =)
For a great palette I suggest an Arttool kit palette. They are the size of a business card and very light. Lots of sizes in the pans..
Yeah! Been seeing that a lot. It looks cool!
No fountain pen?
Yes, apparently, I didn’t bring one for this trip ;)
Try “ Viva” paper towels, they are also like cloth, may be the same one……hope this helps, Amazon should sell it……..
Thank you for suggesting this. I got excited I can have that paper towel again. I’ve been saving it for years now, lol.
Wow you are amazingly talented 🤩 you can draw, watercolor and have great scrapbook ideas for bookmarks, I am in awe 🤗 Thank you for sharing these gorgeous skills 🙏
Thanks so much for your kind words. It inspired me to keep creating. =)
@@AprilSanPedroPlease keep creating 😊 Your talents are a great gift and bring joy and inspiration to others if you share them 🤗
Love this! I am adding some washi tape and stamps to my kit, I think. I do mostly drawing with black pens and a bit of watercolour and coloured pencil. I use a Bagallini handbag that I got at a thrift shop for about $6.00 in virtually new condition. It doesn't have quite as many wide pockets as yours, but it has four large zipper pockets (three outside and one inside) with smaller pockets and some pen loops inside as well, along with four small zip-up pouches (two on the front and two on the sides) which are great for my waterbrushes, fountain pens and accessories like erasers and sharpeners. For my coloured pencils, I found a great little palm-sized tin that was for trading cards or something, and it's absolutely perfect to hold a selection of short pencils/stubs of all colours. I sometimes keep a pencil extender in my kit, but I have yet to use it. The bag also has room for my wallet and cellphone, so it's never far from my side. 😊 This is the Bagallini bag I use, except that mine is not curved at the top, and the two side pouches are higher at the top and zip up securely. I don't like this version as much, I must admit, but they're readily available at thrift stores around here for $10 or less. www.canadaluggagedepot.ca/products/baggallini-modern-everywhere-bag?variant=42867615760560
Cool! I’ll check it out as well. Thank you for spending time in my channel 😃
@@AprilSanPedro Love your channel! And I will definitely visit Davao City if/when I'm in the Philippines (sadly, it's a long way from my part of Canada, lol!).
I meant to mention the Royal Talens Art Creations sketchbooks as well (if you don't already know them), because of the size. They come in small sizes, and I find them much better than a Moleskine. Although you'd think they'd work only for drawing, the paper works for wet media really well. So far, I've tried ink, watercolour, gouache and acrylic with hardly any paper buckling. The only drawback is that the surface is smooth if you prefer a cold press texture. But I still prefer these to Moleskine. I don't know why Moleskine is so expensive, when the paper is so terrible. Even the Fabriano Venezia, which has really nice paper, is terrible because it won't lie flat when open. The Royal Talens come in lots of fun colours and various sizes, and are surprisingly inexpensive for how good they are. They also lie nice and flat, so that you can paint across the fold. There is no pocket, but it does have a ribbon to mark your place, and an elastic to keep the sketchbook closed. Link to sketchbook (available all over the place): www.royaltalens.com/en/catalog/talens-art-creation-paper/sketchbook-black-13x21-cm-140-grams/ I've also tried the Pentalic Traveller, which is very small indeed. It also works with wet media, but not as well as the Royal Talens.
Very helpful! Thank you. I have three fountain pens in my kit as well. No idea why! 😄
Haha. Great to know we’re like-minded 😊
@@AprilSanPedro 😄
This was perfect. I love the pouch you used, and your explanations of what you include and why was very helpful. I tend to bring way too much, even if I'm just going out for the day, so I definitely picked up a few tips. The Daniel Smith palette is usually filled with a few colours when you buy it here in Canada, which is disappointing, but I have small metal palettes I can fill. I too am a big Daniel Smith fan! I've also picked up some very cheap eye shadow palettes with 18 shades that are held in shallow metal pans, contained within a lightweight plastic shell. I will empty and wash them, then refill the pans and add a piece of white plastic to the lid as a mixing area. I'm not sure how well it will stand up to regular use, but it was only $1.25 Canadian and is smaller than the palm of my hand and less than 1.25 cm in depth. I recognize those paper towels. They're so handy! The brand is Viva and I think you can get it in both the U.S. and Canada. Walmart stores often carry that brand. Thanks again. This was great. I'm now going to watch your pencil case video. 😊
Definitely a Viva paper towel. I was about to comment the same when I saw your comment!
@@shanemwebb84 😊
Oh! Thank you so much for recommending the paper towel. I’ve been looking for that. I’ll check on it 😀. Good idea with the eye shadow palettes. It will look really sleek and handy for sure! 😀
Wow! I’m so glad I shared it coz I had a hard time looking for it. Thank you! 😀

I am loving this!!! Not done watching yet. I’ve been Bible art journaling for about a decade now and I really do enjoy it. I would love to see flip thru of your faith journals. I have gone back and forth from Bible journals to inserts and other journals. Yours looks lovely! It’s so fun to be creative in our time with The Creator. 💗🙏🏽 This was inspiring to me! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Hello there. Oh thank you so much for spending the time to comment. I really appreciate it and it’s so nice to be with people of the same mind. Oh! And I am subscribing to your channel. Will watch them in a bit.
I’ve been using a two compartment makeup bag I got about 6-7 years ago from Target. It zips open completely flat on both compartments (4 giant compartments total) but doesn’t flip out like a hanging toiletry bag usually does which I love because I can fit several pouches in each side. It also came with two matching clear pvc pouches and oh my gosh, this beauty carries EVERYTHING! Of course I need everything AND a few more pouches (old repurposed Ipsy bags) plus my planner and pens. I have a SERIOUS pen and paper addiction. I also pack one of my 9 This Is Ground TIGMODS which are discontinued unfortunately. I’m am currently trying to configure each TIGMOD to a specific theme such as watercolor, sketching, Bible study, writing, etc. someday I might actually make videos on my journaling kits.
Can’t wait to check on your future videos 😊
Now i want to see yours too hahahahh 😊
I just got the Harlequin Dream and I'm loving it
Oh! Yeah! I like that color too. Just nice even for everyday writing.☺️
