Driving BMW 635CSI With Short Shift Kit

Installed Ireland Engineering short shift kit in my 1986 BMW 635Csi with 5 speed transmission. Also replaced the rubber boot that covers transmission tunnel opening and some other wear items. Shifting is so much more precise and enjoyable compared to the factory setup. If you own manual transmission I highly recommend this kit. Ireland Engineering is very easy to deal with.

Today I took the Carrera S for a drive to video tape how it drives and performs. I did a mix of driving that included main roads, some freeway and few country roads with few twisties. I used Sport mode entire drive. My favorite part is at 8:20 mark. Shows what the car is made for. Thanks for watching!

This is walk around description of my 2005 Carrera S. It's a beautiful low mileage car car that was lovingly taken care of. It's a 6 speed manual. 3.8l engine is awesome. I think this is the last of 911's that feels like a true driver's car. I never cared for newer PDK transmission. In my opinion it's just a fancy automatic.

This is a cold start on my 2005 Carrera S. Exhaust is slightly modified by FD Motorsport (Fister modification, some call it Gundo hack). It adds very nice sound to the stock exhaust. Look for my other video where I do walk around description of the car.

@@dougz2855 This makes me miss my 78'SC. Sold mine with 140k on the original motor and gearbox after 40 hrs of track use at Sebring. It was tired but would still put down some very good lap times.

Looking at the dashboard, I miss my 1984 BMW E30 316 with M10 engine. My BMW was diamond black with a rear spoiler, evil eye headlight bezels, chrome wheel arches, and a 4 speed gearbox which was perfectly adequate for me. When I bought the car back then, my BMW was no longer in the original delivery condition due to the many previous owners. I still liked my BMW because it looked sporty and also had a strong contrast to the black color and the chrome applications. My BMW was only serviced in a BMW workshop. I later sold the BMW because the government tax for cars without a catalytic converter had become extremely expensive and retrofitting this model with a catalytic converter was also extremely expensive. My engine was a 1.8 liter M10 with a fully electronic carburettor, which was standard on the 316. If I had had the more powerful 318i back then with the same engine that had fuel injection then upgrading it with a catalytic converter would have been cheaper. @@worldwidesports4k I installed SSI stainless steel heat exchangers and 2 in 1 out Monty muffler . Monty mufflers are made in Australia. This setup also saves lot of weight. It's better flowing system than stock. More horse power and sounds great

A big ass stereo in an air cooled 911 makes no sense to me. I would go radio delete all the way.
You know it.. Didn't play the radio the first 6 months I owned my '86 Carrera. That air cooled sound was what's happening..
