How to score lower in golf - Lowest Score Wins online coaching review
มุมมอง 4044 ปีที่แล้ว
I recently took part in an online coaching session titled "Lowest Score Wins" over a Zoom call with the professional team at Pleasington Golf Course. I really enjoyed the session and it got me thinking about what I need to work on to lower my score. Greens in regulation is a key metric to look at in improving your score and therefore I will be working hard to understand the distances I hit my c...

A new range session routine
มุมมอง 864 ปีที่แล้ว
Recently I watched one of Rick Shiels videos on practicing better at the range and it struck a cord with. The video if you have not seen it, talks about not just hammering 100 balls out into the range and practicing in a more efficient way. Therefore I thought I would give it a go in order to try and make my range sessions much more valuable. I headed down to Lytham Golf Academy to put it into ...
Practicing a fade and a draw
มุมมอง 814 ปีที่แล้ว
Something that I have never really practiced before but at the range the other day I wanted to try and fade and then draw the ball. I have recently found myself in several positions on the course where I needed these two shots. It worked really well actually and even tough I am more comfortable "forcing" a fade, I found that I can fade and draw the ball.
Keeping your hands warm on the golf course
มุมมอง 6924 ปีที่แล้ว
In winter I really struggle to keep my hands warm on the golf course as I suffer from Raynaud's syndrome which means I have very poor circulation to my fingers. I have tried lots of things to help, but it turns out the best thing was a couple of hand warmers from the local pound store - they work a treat! Have you any tips on keeping your hands warm in winter golf? Leave them in the comments be...

Leaving the driver at home - teeing off with a 6-iron
มุมมอง 1374 ปีที่แล้ว
I play most of my rounds at my home course of Pleasington Golf Club and the course, although excellent and challenging is not particularly long. With this in mind, and that fact that I have had massive trouble with my driver recently, I took an iron off each tee that I would normally take driver from. The lowest iron I have in the bag is a 6-iron and therefore this was the club I used. The resu...

    Just wondering how you formatted the artboards to print on the proper sides/orientations?

    • @thetechiegolfer5096
      @thetechiegolfer5096 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of trial and error! I started off using paper to make a little booklet, stapling it together and then wrote in each page what would be printed on each. Then I remove the staples and worked out which bits needed to be printed front and back. I then made print templates in Affinity Designer based on the paper experiments, printed and tweaked until I was close enough.

  • @TheZenEffect
    @TheZenEffect 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does your vector package also contain a way of formatting the pages so that they print in the correct order? You mention that you didn't want to go too much into how the package worked but I think it'd be great to see and really helpful. Great video nonetheless, best I could find on TH-cam for a simple but detailed format to make these booklets.

    • @thetechiegolfer5096
      @thetechiegolfer5096 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That template doesn't no. Once you have created each image for each hole you then export them so that you have images which can then be inserted into a separate print template. This was produced using trial and error! Thanks for the comment and feedback and glad you found it useful. I have been improving my yardage books recently and may we do another video in the near future. Watch this space!

    • @TheZenEffect
      @TheZenEffect 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thetechiegolfer5096 Thanks for the reply, I look forward to the new video! Quick question, what size is the finished booklet? Sources for yardage books online vary, some as small as 3.5 x 5.5 inches and some as big as allowed at 4 x 7 inches. I tried the latter but struggled to fit it onto A4 paper.

      These are just lines using the pen tool and then grouped together. Also you could use circles depending on the shape you want your trees. I have created a few on a separate art board and then just copy and paste them in and re-size. I have recently been improving the yardage books and will do another video in the near future about the changes that I have made to improve them. Hey 😁 good to see your not going all out lol ... I have done the same although I have spent in the region of around 500-600 on new shafts for second hand clubs that I’ve purchased used to be a good junior player handicap of 4.5 I think was my lowest I ever got to but I’m returning to the game after a 18 year absence but I remember the clubs I used to play with back then and mine was a regal package set for nearly 2 years I had to beg for a new set of irons one year to finally get my handicap down but it goes to show new isn’t always the best either 😎👍

    • @thetechiegolfer5096
      @thetechiegolfer5096 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I will keep hold of these for a year at least and try improve a bit before investing in something a little better. I need to get more consistent first before I will see any returns on a more expensive set of clubs. However, the lowest iron I have in the bag is a 6-iron and I would like something I can get off the tee on the shorter par 4's. Maybe I will purchase a 4-iron or something.
