PSA for anyone having trouble with this challenge. The kill must be an active red dot enemy. Guards and soldiers not actively red will not count, as I spent hours killing oil field and fort Wallace guards before finally figuring it out.

Here is the easy way to get the 80 with tomahawk. Equip the tomahawk with homing. Now take a train by buying a ticket. I had it go to Emerald Station. When the train arrives there get off and equip your lasso. Go to the caboose and lasso the guard at the back of the caboose. Hogtie him and put him on your horse and travel far away from the train till they aren't looking for you. Put the guard on the ground to where you can see him from a far. Lock the red dot on him till you are far away yet the red is still lit. Then select your homing tomahawk and while you have the red dot locked on the guard hit the red eye. Then hold R2 and then release. You then got your 80 feet challenge complete. I only needed 5 feet since I already had 75 completed. Good luck!

You have to unlock the ability to do a chain takedown. Once you do, pause the game at the exact moment and enter photo mode
For everyone who had trouble. I just spent over an hour real life doing this. I had regular tomahawks. Go to the oil fields, go to the front entrance into the factory (the place where it takes you to steal the oil wagon for Marston) have your core full, put a dip in, dead eye the front gate guard and while in dead eye hold A to go backwards faster. THATS THE EASIEST WAY TRUST ME
also when i use the viking hatchet? i cant seem to get it. even though im far away.
@@vinnie2099 I'm pretty sure you can't use a hatchet it has to be a tomahawk
keep your reticle on the enemy so you see the red. back away, when it no longer goes red, take one step back in. your at the very edge of range. use deadeye as usual to dome the dude. make sure to use the improved or homing hawk (both have better range than the regular). you should not have to worry about arcing it up, as a deadeye locked shot doesn't care where your point of aim is. the trick is, it has to be a red enemy, not just some unaware by-standard. sucks for the 30-40people i've been hawking for the last hour :) first bad guy i did popped the challenge.

@@jennieredrose5819 you have to be right at the very edge of the range, and using the improved or homing hawk as they have a longer range. They may also have changed things with patches since then, as I did all that 20ish months ago.

I was struggling for awhile. The trick is to start close to the target and then walk away keeping the target red.

You have to lock the aim reticle close when it turns Red, then walk back until you reach the distance. Use the dead eye and lock the target. I aimed High just to make sure it had enough distance. Make sure you hold the button to launch the tomahawk. Dont just press it.
