DW Gauge Panels
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 8 พ.ค. 2023
I'm Kory Brooks, a prior level 2 CDJR technician now working full time at a private shop. I started this channel along with my project, a 1974 Dodge D100 named Dumpty, to create new connections, show you the things I like making, and spread the wisdom. When Dumpty is put back together again, it will feature all the things that I make! Check out my links for the cool stuff that I do.
2016 Mountain Drive - '74 Dodge D100
I shot four short videos on my cell phone in 2016 before I started DW Gauge Panels, before I ever thought about TH-cam, before I ever thought this truck would be something more. You know its my truck because I still have that Gauge Panel, its my future decoration piece when I make myself a studio.
The quality is 2015 cell phone which inspires me to make a new version after Dumpty is put back together again. There's nothing quite like hearing the song of V8 on empty mountain roads, wouldn't you agree?

CNC Control Arms for 1972-1993 Dodge D Series Part 1
มุมมอง 22914 วันที่ผ่านมา
I am developing upper and lower control arms for the 1972-1993 Dodge D series and 2WD Ramcharger. Im putting together a kit using my control arm package, Mustang II spindles and brake kits, GM F Body coil overs and a rack & pinion steering gear. It will be all bolt in with the exception of weld in rearward facing radius arm brackets. The complete package will be in hand in upcoming videos. In t...
New Shop - One Month Update
มุมมอง 472 หลายเดือนก่อน
I am sorry about the video orientation, I used my phone, and its just easier to hold it that way. Anyways.. Its been 1 month since I started working at the new shop. Things are starting to get back on track and plans are in the works for upcoming videos. I sold the big Snapon box and cleared that bill out, and did some work on other bills to help my monthly expenses. I chose to take a slight pa...
Changes - For Better or Worse
มุมมอง 2353 หลายเดือนก่อน
I lost the shop! its not just a joke, it happens. My former employer decided on another direction.. by firing me and hiring a diesel smog tech. Changes happen. I'm not upset over it. Within a day I got hired at another shop. A bigger shop. A more well known shop in Visalia CA. Its a little bit of a pay cut, but Ive made quite a few changes to accommodate this. I was also able to get my truck ov...
KBS Chassis Coating - D100 Project Episode 7
มุมมอง 7254 หลายเดือนก่อน
First video since June of 2024! New camera, audio finally perfected? Better thumbnails? Let me know what you think! So personal expenses ruled my life for a short while this past summer and had nearly zero funds for the project until now. And at 3 weeks in the making, this is my video on the KBS Rust Seal application. The chassis kit comes with 1 quart of rust seal, and you really should get 1 ...

If you have an idea why the cuts are to one side let me know, its driving me crazy! Edit: might have figured it out, found the o-ring for the torch connection to the machine was missing. The loss of air flow or pressure may have been contributing to the poor cut performance. I did a few test cuts and I have gotten the cleanest cuts yet, and they are more square. I will make test cuts on parts soon
That tailgate on your bed, if it is as nice and unrusted as it looks is worth at least a 1000.00 dollars because the embossed letters tailgate was only used in 72 and 73. Here on the east coast they are extremely rare. Whatever you do don't cut it up!!!
@@pentastarobsessed8427 absolutely not cutting it up. Has a small ding that I'll have repaired but I spent a while and picked it up for $100 a few years ago. Lucky score!
What year is your D? Why are you running cats?
@@jasonbaumgarte6465 1974 and I'm choosing to run modern metal core cats to eliminate the strong smell. They are not a restriction like most believe they are.

I need it!
lol what was it?

I ran the same cam in my 340..love that cam
Why go thru all that if tool is cheap as hell online?
@@rigobertorosell when a customer needs the truck today and online is not today, why not do something free and takes 3 minutes? It's called a hack, not buy a tool lol
@@DWGarageProject if u doing this for a living u got to have the tool. And i didnt said charge i just said its so simple with a tool lol
@@rigobertorosell that's true, but I don't work on these often enough justify buying a tool when method does the same work. If I worked at a Ford dealership sure I'd have access to the Ford special tools. I work on many vehicles and usually doing engines. It's been 2 years since the last time I worked on a Ford front axle.
Love how ypu put the no fast plate on just the frame bro !!!!! 😂❤
@@theschraders my truck it's no fast
I used this coating....its crap....
Can you provide more detail? I heard the same line about all of the coatings from different people haha
Yes, an explanation would be nice rather than just bashing it.
Woahhh! Noted!
I dig it 😎
Are you going to offer a lower control strut rod kit? I would like to do the same suspension mods on my 76 D100.
I am confident in the strength of the modification I am doing, but it is still untested, especially the lower control arm end. Ive seen others modify the factory tension strut and mount it in reverse with a threaded end for the swedge tube. Mine could theoretically allow the LCA to twist, but with the van LCA's pocketed spring perch I highly doubt it will give me any trouble. I could possibly put together a kit and offer it on my website for sure, I need to do minor modifications for the LCA brace pieces for better fitment before then.
Lookin great! I came here from For A Bodies Only. I have 1976 D100 and a 1973 Duster. I will be following all the way.
I used that sandblasting system, it was great until i ran out of the ceramic tips. They only lasted about ten minutes each.
That's good to know. I'm planning on hitting the hard to reach areas on the front half of my chassis if not everything in orange. I'll keep an open eye on the ceramic tips now.
Are those custom made coffin mufflers? I've never seen coffin mufflers before!
thecoffinmuffler.com/
They're Visalia local like myself
Might need more fine sand than already got.
This sand is as fine as you can go without it being ineffective. I seen it tried with white aluminum oxide and it does nothing against rust.
@@DWGarageProjectAlOx is WAY harder than sand.

Selkie Pressure Washer... www.amazon.com/dp/B086W4TNQC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
50lb bag of pool sand at ace hardware, forgot to mention it. I will make a video covering the actual use of this tool at a later time for sure.
Cut your work time by 75% if you put small parts and big parts, like your coffin mufflers in a big tub of household vinegar first. For the chassis, brush the vinegar on morning and night for a week. The rust will virtually wash off like toothpaste and the metal will shine it's so clean.
Should work good with the 360 I just pulled my old motor which is similar to yours My truck ran 12 50swith that one
That's awesome. The 12s are the goal off nitrous. The rings were gapped for a 150 shot and maybe 11s won't be too far out of reach!
Good lookin truck
If this is good looking then I'm confident that it can't get worse after doing paint n body!
Look how your brakes have been leaking even since it’s orange ‘rebuild’ 😂
I inherited a mess for sure. Orange and leaky since before I paid $1500 for it in 2013!
They're okay if you ain't rolling around much do before and after in 5 years and see how loose it is
Im sure it will be loose, but I am also sure it will hold up better than these old craftsman tools boxes the old skool mechanics still have from the 70s and 80s. Ballin on a budget!
Added some roller wheels from some old roller blades and I could roll 20ft with a push
And every time you rev the engine, the block, will torque, and the headers will vibrate on the frame. And that’s if it does fit.
Absolutely, this is why I plan to have at least 1/2 inch clearance everywhere the headers are near. I'll address this in upcoming videos. Thanks for watching!
Good catch
Gorgeous! 😍🥰
Try installing the engine without the headers 😒
I wasn't installing the engine 😮 the point was to see where they were against the frame rails and the firewall as these headers don't belong on the truck.. yet. And I promise you, I will be able to install the engine with the headers on, but you gotta follow my build!
