This would be in Australia, around the time of the One Night Stand album.
This is what greatness is all about!!! 🎸🎸🎸
Well we can be comforted. We are listening to power pop at its finest. There may only be a modest list of power pop songs this potent. I'm workin on the list for the starry eyes of the girl of my dreams.
Bad version the drummers kinda milked it oops. To many fillers. Just saying
Genuina.✌️💫🆗
Best of the best
Could the drummer hit the trap any harder? I doubt it.
1986 needed this badly! Too bad I only knew of them in books...gladly I got caught up! Cyril Jordan and co are rockin!
I will find a way To get to you some day. Oh, but I, babe, I'm so afraid I'll fall, yeah. Now can't you hear me call? Shake some action's what I need To let me bust out at full speed. I'm sure that's all you need To make it all right. It's taken me so long To get where I belong Oh, but, oh, please don't send me back that way, yeah. For I will make you pay. Shake some action's what I need To let me bust out at full speed. I'm sure that's all you need To make it all right. If you don't dig what I say Then I will go away. And I won't come back this again. No. 'Cause I don't need a friend. Shake some action's what I need To let me bust out at full speed. I'm sure that's all you need To make it all right.
I'm in love with is song
My favorite version.
I'm so afraid I'll fall
Weird, this sounds like a live recording not the single but they’re clearly miming. I wonder what the story is with that.
Love this track
pure pop for now people : ) my all time fave the original is still the best IMHO
Great version of a great song! Check out this version! th-cam.com/video/zCSO7FFKkuw/w-d-xo.html
Found this band yesterday. Where have they been all my life!😉 Love this.
My God most music sucks today. This is music
Nothing like the original but still better than other songs.
Not convinced that the band in this video is the Flamin' Groovies. More like a band covering the song. Band members look unrecognizable.
It’s cyril and George w Paul zaul and Jack Johnson.
@@grooviefan who is the lead singer?
@@agentofchaos jack johnson, from the bay area band the Yanks
Paul Zahl, what a MONSTER.
Incredible! :-D
I heard the song back when it came out, didn't know who did it and only heard it on the radio three other times until listening to Little Steveys Underground Music and found out the name of the band. It's one of my top three favorite songs the other two are My Baby Blue- BAD Finger, Crimson and Clover
Lovin' George's bass lines here.
That's beautiful.
Made myself learn Guitar Riffs and the Bass on this is Killer too ♫
This song.... the plimsouls , million miles away. and the long riders gunslinger man are absolutely my top 3 songs from this era . If your not familiar please give em a listen. Thank me later.
Playback . Dommage, too bad , zu schade ...!
Genius song!!!😎🎸🎶❤
The greatest Side 1, Track 1 of all time.
I love this. LOOOOOVVVEEE IIIIITTTTTTT!!!! xxxx
shake some action is an alltime smash hit a big hit after so many years sounds amazing
i saw them in west berlin 1982 they do a fantastic cover of river deep mountain high its blow me away
An awesome record. I first heard this on a compilation I bought in 1978 called "New Wave" and liked it instantly. Fast forward forty years and hearing it again makes me realise it is one of the finest power pop records of all time. Simply magic
Same
About the same time I heard the phrase new wave late 70s
The best group from the 70s you never heard of. Rock n' Roll at it's finest
❤
I've heard of them! Had them in my play-list for years.
Great song!
Vaya pasada! Larga vida al Rock and Roll.
Hey, this has been driving me crazy, but who is on lead vocals?
My father Jack Johnson
@@jessicajohnson7058 what ever happened to him? Did he stay in band long
Love they added the 80s heavy drums to the 70s classic
Very Bad Taste! !!
@@tonyterme1769 okay Tony
I like the heavy drumming too.I apologies bout my bad manners
Wish the screen wasn't so dark. Still the best version !
Even with the awful mix -- the annoying phase, overbearing drum sound, Cyril's guitar too low and Jack's too high -- it's still the greatest Rock and Roll song. Ever. A fun watch!
Totally agree! !! One of the best R'N Roll song!!! But the 80's sound is awful!!! 1976 original version is a masterpiece!!!
I agree that 's a great song. It's not about who wins but it's in my top Ten.And I agree than Cyril is not loud enough. But I like the eighties sound. For me, this Groovies line up is my fave.Because I like the sound of the drums.I also like the voice. Jack is such a good singer.
@@johnvolume3384 There are a half dozen great and wonderful Groovies tracks from this lineup on the "Rock Juice"/"Step Up" releases. Overlooked even by Flamin' Groovies standards.
You're right I also like One Night Stand, with this lineup.I like all the lineups, almost all the Groovies records.I like them playing rockabilly sixties pop and garage, power pop or whatever. But I like Jack Johnson singing effortlessly, with a raspy voice.Rock on!
J'adore !!!! Merci aux Flamin's Groovies !
Who could dispute this. Salutations de Los Angeles.
Much prefer this version to the over-produced studio version.
lol shit tons of chorus and gated drums on this but your little ears heard the original as "over produced"
having said that i think this version rocks
@@sakalak So how would you describe the difference?
I've loved this band and especially this song for decades but this isn't anywhere near as good as the spirit and feel of the original. Letdown.
I don't know much about the band line up but I can't believe that wannabe Status Quo singer was in the original song? Sounds very different.
if you read some of the posts, its Jack Johnson from the bay area band The Yanks on lead vocals...
If you like 80s vocal, guitar and drum sounds you might prefer this version, but for me it's got to be the original released in 76. A transcendent masterpiece that deserves to be as well known as Bohemian Rhapsody or Sweet Child o' Mine.
Produced by Dave Edmunds!
