That wasn't a crash, that was a slide. A sphincter tightening one, granted.

It can all happen very fast! Being a bit slow to correct kind of saved you in this case since it could have easily led to overcorrection instead and ending up in the wall to the left which would have been much worse. Looks like a blast to drive in any case! 🏎💨

Tuition is a must in these things, your extremely lucky that didn't snap back on you into the outside wall, Combes had its fair share of huge crashes these past few weeks and nearly claimed another

Freaky accident, also could notice that to protect from a possible accident on that tree there was NO protection. I worked as race marshal and that tree there and bush is a HUUUUUGE no no as safety regulation, unless you got haybails or something to protect there, even tyres. I would say big fault to the organizers on not protecting that, REALLY big fault; if they did you would maybe had half of the injuries you sustained.

Open cockpit cars going fast give me the absolute fear, yes you have a cage and all necessary safety equipment but had that same accident happened in a closed cockpit car I feel you would have had minor injuries and a bruised ego and that's about it. I applaud anyone with balls big enough to pilot such a car quickly, because I dont have the balls to do it. Glad you were ok in the end but my god that was nearly your last ride

Bloody hell that was big, and I know it was big boy from the list in the vid, but from the way the cage bent, then things are strong as hell and that’s moved a lot

"Is the risk worth the gain?" I like racing as a game, or as a concept, but in real life, it doesn't seem worth it. Don't want to raise my kids to be racers, they're too precious to lose. Don't want to make my family cry, better to be super fast at returning phone calls, and quick to say I love you, and be the first one to give thanks to God.

Looking at where your helmet travelled to (disappearing inside the foliage) would have probably meant the end if there was a tree trunk close enough, you are extremely lucky to be alive. Although a HANS device and a wrap around headrest would have slightly reduced your injuries, your life would still be at risk in a Westfield during a side impact of that force. I would love to do a hill climb but I find it's too risky, I'm so glad you lived.
