With every step, he immerses himself in the richness of the world around him, savoring the diverse sights that unfold before his eyes, the sounds of unfamiliar landscapes, the vibrant tastes of local cuisines, and the beauty of languages spoken in tones both foreign and fascinating.

I spent part of my day in Agropoli exploring St. Francis Beach and the harbor, where the scent of the ocean was invigorating, and the emerald sea was truly mesmerizing. Watching a group prepare for a scuba dive rekindled my own dreams of diving again. Later, I wandered through downtown without GPS, letting curiosity guide me to discover new and unexpected places. It was a beautiful day in this ...

Hey Erowid! Sare travels!
Thank you! Good to hear from you 😊
You are legally in Italy, don't worry Schengen means free circulation of people and goods.
@@confidentcar Awesome! I was wondering if it was wise to post that! Seems too easy to travel between countries here, and I love it…
Looks like a beautiful place!
@@lauraxtimber Hey Laura, this place is beyond my wildest dreams! 😊🇮🇹
@@Erowid_Spark Where are you off to after Italy?
@lauraxtimber Well, I will be here until April 19th (just relocated to s peaceful location on s mountain); next leg is Montenegro, followed by two or three years in different countries in Eastern Europe. This is an amazing life!
@@Erowid_Spark I'm just catching up on your traveling videos, what a wonderful way to spend your retirement!
@lauraxtimber This is the life I always wanted to live. The path to get here was a challenge, yet it paid off. 😊
Thank you for this video! Im going in July for the first time and this is so helpful. I have been trying to find out but nothing turns up: ho you happen to know is there a way to reach Naples from Agropoli by ferry via the Amalfi coast?
@@liviahakala6276 Check out this Ferry Service website. www.alilauro.it/en/tratte/ I asked my host who is a local tour guide in Agropoli and he said that the ferry from Agropoli to Amalfi Coast operates in August only. I found that the best way to find travel information in Europe is with ChatGPT (free version). It has much more information than Google. You’re gonna love this place, it is so beautiful!
@@liviahakala6276 Alilauro is a prominent ferry operator in southern Italy, offering connections between the mainland and various destinations, including the Amalfi Coast. Their “Metrò del Mare” service includes routes connecting Salerno, Agropoli, San Marco, Amalfi, and Positano. Ferry schedules can vary based on the season and specific dates. For the most current information, including departure times and ticket bookings, it’s advisable to visit Alilauro’s official website. Additionally, platforms like Direct Ferries provide comprehensive details on Alilauro’s routes, schedules, and ticket prices. Given that ferry services are subject to change, especially due to seasonal variations, it’s recommended to verify the latest schedules and book tickets in advance to ensure availability.
Wow thank you so much for all this info! I cant wait to get there. Enjoy!
Welcome!
Are there areas with more color in Agropoli? I know the weather is kind of grey right now...Actually a little blue sky today, here in Tuscany.
@@beadnick6394 My host said that it is beautiful later in the year when flowers bloom . So now it’s a bit grey, which has its charm too. This climate feels wonderful after spending November - mid January in México 🇲🇽!
@@beadnick6394 Are you traveling too, or do you live in Tuscany?
@@Erowid_Spark I live here. How long are you planning on staying?
I am over the rainy winters, however. It really poured last night and into this morning.
@beadnick6394 what a wonderful place to live! I will be in Fornelli as of Friday until the end of April.
In Italy, cafes are called "bars". Many serve alcohol as well as standard cafe fare.
Yeah, I have since found several other bars that I have had coffee at. Just a new reality to go to a “bar” for coffee! 😊
@@Erowid_Spark One of the things you might find in Italy, is that often, English words are used in ways that English speakers wouldn't necessarily use them. After almost 24 years of living in here, I am still often confounded by how some English words are used within the common Italian vernacular. Headlines in Italian newspapers often provide good examples of what I am talking about, in this regard. :)
@beadnick6394 I noticed this a bit from talking with my host. Some of his English speaking has a very different use of words. I still understand him, it’s actually kind of cool! 😊
@ Next time you are at a newsstand, scan the headlines, and see if you can make heads or tails out of them. LOL
@beadnick6394 I’ll check it out. 😊
Your quality of sound is a bit low ,but enjoy your stay

Hi!! 👋 I watched a lot of the videos and kind of found you before you left North Dakota. 😃 I have so many questions! 1. Have you seen any weird bugs or birds? 2. Has the food effected you differently? Healthier foods give us more energy I.e. 3. Has traveling into different elevations, have you noticed any changes? 4. Being away from the U.S. do you feel disconnected from all the “noise” like for example: political news and breaking news and the changes happening to the structure of government in the U.S.? All the craziness and chaos of the U.S.? 5. I once heard a TH-camr say that “Americans don’t travel as much, because they don’t have to. Everything is here” What was the need to leave the U.S. vs a beach trip to the coast or a national forest retreat or a New York trip, like a cabin retreat or even snowy mountain excursion? What were you hoping to gain from traveling abroad? Does that make sense?? I wish you safe and happy travels! I know it’s a lot of questions! If you get a chance, please check out another channel I watch called Kenny of all Trades, very chill dude too

Well im glad to hear you made the right decision and your still here with us cause. Unfortunately for my uncle that wasn't the case for him he ended up taking his own life back in 2002 he became severely depressed. A alcoholic for many years everyday drinker 7 days a week a Whiskey drinker he actually quit his job cause of it and took out a huge loan. On his own house just so he could stay at home and drink well he finally figured out after he spent all the money on alcohol. And he was broke he couldn't pay it back so he owed the bank big time after that he ignored all phone calls from the family my dad included his younger brother shut off all communication from the outside world and one day it was just him with his fifth of whiskey and his 38 revolver.
I'm so sorry😢😢
I tend to think there are two types of people in life, those who toe the line and do everything exactly as society plans in life. They just bounce along without much of a care. Then there are those of us who experience it all, dark, light, love, self destruction and loss and everything in between. You’re wise in the truest sense. Safety and security can be a cage and we don’t like cages. Your story is your value. Tell it to random strangers you strike up a conversation with sitting on the bench, answer their questions. People like you can alter life courses. That’s your superpower.
Thank you, I appreciate this. 😊
Just fyi i read on another post related to domiciling in SD, that you just need to need to call the courts and let them know you are domiciling. I'm not sure if this is true, but that it was another person said of their experience.
I’m thinking I will have to at least start with that and see what happens. Thank you!
If I met you now, I'd buy you a whole cake! Glad you changed your mind. Be well 👍✌️

I had a friend that went AWOL from the Army in 1977. He after 12 days being gone, went back to his duty station in Ft. Riley Kansas. Their he was greeted by 2 MP's and escorted to his Battalion commander, and 1st Sgt. According to my friend, they were less that nice as well. He stayed in the 1st Sgt's office over night and watched over by those 2 MP's until morning. Then his charges were read to him. This was not in his favor at all. He was court marshalled, and sentenced to 45 days hard labor to Fort Leavenworth. After he done that he was escorted back to his Unit, and his nightmare was not yet over. He was sent to a place called USARB. This is known as { United States Army Retraining Brigade } He spent 8 weeks at that place, and said it was nothing short of pure BS. He said they treated him like a wild dog, that should of been put down. He however managed to get through it all. Then was sent back to his Unit, when he arrived he was told he had make an apology in front of the entire Battalion. He did what he was told to do, and with that, they slapped him with 2 months of extra duty, and docked his pay, with an Article 15, for those 2 months. He served his time, and then some, for being gone 12 days. When it was time for him to depart the Army, he was asked if he wanted to reinstate himself for another 3 years, with bonus of 5 Grand, and the promise of being promoted to E3, you can guess what he did from that point. You got off real easy compared to him.
