50 years ago I walked into a record store on the northwest side of Indianapolis, Indiana and heard this playing on the turntable. Music changed for me that day.

Prefer him to Clapton who ended up more a mainstream pop star than anything. Sick making. Rory stayed true to blues and rock roots. A great artist. I loved Irish Tour 74. I'd just left school (in NZ) when it came out. I really liked Rory and B B King who i saw in Christchurch town hall.

The three of them seemed to be telepathic. Rory and John seemed to know what was in each other's heads. This was challenging music for a 15 year old to listen to in the mid 70s but I still know almost every note.

You know, latel, I've BEEN listening a lot to this here, one Irish guy name of, Rory Gallagher, and I've listened to him a bunch of the time, particularly, in the ’70's .Well, these days, having lost all my reb 1:40 records, cassette s(you young ones go dig up one grandies& ask 'em what cassettes areーーmaybe on a Ouijaboards),and all CDs, i've been on my not-too-smart-phones(I must've dropped it one too many times, it' working not hardly at all. So, anyway, lately, everyti me ｉput on ol' Rory, I find myself, going, " Man, that's the best I've ever heard him play." Everytime. and I mean, EVERYTIME. So, here's tune called, "Sugar Mama" It's the best I've ever heard him play.

I first heard Rory in 1974 in a record store called Obadiah's in Eagledale Plaza on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The Blues is a way of life.

Yes seen Taste in Glasgow City Halls a long long time ago when I was a young man with lots of hair like Rory and when I seen them I was hooked and I’ve seen many great guitarists from Europe and America and Rory was one of them without a doubt.

A whole lot of people played music. I’m talkin before this all the way to now… but Rory PLAYED!! I mean, he took no days off.. Played more shows than most anyone.. Gave it all he had as an opener or a Head-liner.. I never saw him, but know folks who did. They can attest to what I’m saying… Dude played to PLAY!! and often times Stole the show from the Head-liners he’d open for… what you see and hear is what you get, and god dammit you’d get it all from Rory…

I read he started playing at 8-9 yrs old on his 1st guitar were they mistaken? Because he probably started at 5-6 yrs old he’s too great on guitar…..He’s the greatest
