The hole is drilled about 1-2mm to high so it is drilled above the sheerline.
Which set do you use?
Drilling direct to side bar is a match faster to enable the core to slide out... drilling the sheer line, putting the tailpiece at risk, not being able to reuse the core.
Nice work. Mine arrives in a week or two.
Really?!! Very useless video. I lost my key so how could I take the lock out and keep on hitting it to get the debris and cylinders out. If that was the case I wouldn't need to...
Wondering what tools were used for this pick, had one of these and lost the key
I guess I'm 6 years too late for the drawing- lol. But your video is super helpful and I appreciate it!
Didn’t think about shimming the cylinder from the front. But you can also shim the shackle and comb pick this lock. 1) Single pin pick 2) Rake 3) knife 4)Shim Cylinder 5)Comb pick 6) Shim shackle 7) Hammer rap ?
Great video! I think that 'foreign object' was actually not something that someone jammed in, but rather an intentional security feature from Arrow's 'Flex ChoICe line'. This platform had keys with a hole in the bottom of the key that would run all the way from tip to bow. The idea was similar to Ruko's flexcore system.
Real estate agent left a box on my door and won’t respond when I call to have it removed. I can’t cut it with my bolt cutters it’s too hard. Any ideas?
use a hammer no picking needed
Anyone can butcher a lock when it's in a vise. A qualified locksmith working on a lock installed on a customers door would never do what you just displayed. Please, if you are working as a locksmith, get more training and learn better technique. "Training videos like this give professional locksmiths a bad name. I have been a locksmith for 45 years and am proud to say those of us who are truly invested in the trade don't approve of these vidios. There are scammers a plenty out there that think that a drill and a screwdriver makes them a pro.
Ok so if you had a locked up door with a core like that and the customer had no keys at all... controll key or otherwise... What would you do...? Please. I am willing to learn if you are willing to teach. Thnx
First the drill bit is too large, never go above 5/32" second you are nowhere near the shear line. This is NOT the way to drill any cylinder at all. I have been a locksmith for 39 years and am always horrified not only seeing things like this but more by the comments encouraging it.
First lock-drill I see, Way too much talking.
5:25 Look how crooked the pins are.
One thing u could show to us was how many milímiters u drill exatly until u can open it with a screwdriver beforw u destroy the lock ..each measure for each lock u test in future vídeos.
Man the idea was to know the dificulty of opening the lock, u shouldnt clean it like u did, u destroyed the interess of the vídeo like that.
Idiots! Anyone that wants to break into a property do you really think a freaking criminal is going to try to hack into this pile of crap or even a regular lock box! What a morons... REMEMBER MOST CRIMINALS ARE RETARDED DUMB A S S ES!
Awesome video!!
I love how you have pins falling out, I just did a Schlage LFIC and the bottom of the core fell out. The top is stuck in there, so I need to stick my bore CAM in there tomorrow to try and get it out.
Did you try the magnets yet? Is the plate around the solenoids magnetic?
Was thinking the same thing.
Lots of shielding, but maybe. Currently trying this.
That faceplate isn't hardened?? WTF - too easy
@FalconerPhoto No, but they're mainly used for businesses and they're fairly expensive, so I'd assumed that the faceplates were hardened steel on sfics.... I guess not. They should be. Everything even semi-serious should have drill protection.
LOL, I sure could have used this video six years ago, back when I was thrown into my job, which includes removing these cores sometimes. Two hours and still destroyed the cylinder trying to figure out the first one. Nowadays, 30 seconds start to finish, including installation of a replacement core.
Used to drill these out all the time working for best locks. Drill the pins out, the front face with the name can come off too. Just just a decent size flat head screw driver and it will move the side bar over and you can pop the core out
'' WHEN YOU NEED A DRIL,MMMmmm,YOU NEED MORE PRATICE,,SORRY..''TEAZING,LOL..JUST STICK A POINTED ,ETC..IN THE SEWER HOLE..BADA BING,BADA BOOM'
This is actually not too bad for a a cheap, low security lock.
I'm still a greenhorn in locksport. Well, maybe a tenderfoot at this point. I have a bench, nice vice, lots of picks/tools, locks, and getting daily practice. I got a Master 6125 and haven't tried to pick it yet. Which pick were you using on this video? Short hook? Was it in 18/000? It looks like a plain jane stainless short hook. No handle, etc.
I was pleasantly surprised when I raked two of these open no problem. Good fun, if bad security. Should be pretty easy to pin in some tricks even without a new cylinder.
Does anyone know the actual name of this lock?
It works a lot easier when you dont bang all the pins out
Actually that use of the word prized (to use force in order to move, move apart, or open) is correct. Thanks for opening that up though. I was curious about mine.
Good Ol US lock 5200! Have a new one on the way! thanks for sharing my friend!!
Well Done Sir! Thanks for sharing!
Hey bud, got any from 87-89 with the white writing?
I just saw your post on key picking too. I'll check when i can get at my bench again. Take care
Thanks got my ic core out
Glad I could Help.
Im pretty sure that arrow sfic has a specal key with a hole in it that fits into a steel rod in the bottom of the key way.
Great picking there 👍
Very nicely picked sir. Awesome pins from Eazypicking
Bill Bacardi it's funny how some times things just fall in to place when you pick a lock. And others you can spend forever on. He did a great job for his first lock. Thanks for watching
Very nice job, and it's awesome he sent you his first challenge lock. It's great to see more people making them. I hope he keeps up the good work 😊
Pickaholic I was happy to get it. He did a great job. Thanks for watching

“Eazypicking” done a really great job on that lock , it’s really great to see his channel growing. I do like your pinning tray , I made a similar one just with out the parts compartment
daz evers I made a jig for my router. I have to pick up a new half round, then I'm going to make a few more just a bit thinner and lighter. Take care
The first is the hardest but good to see it picked & gutted. Good job.👍🏽🍺😎
Don'z Lockz Thanks, I think he did a great job for his first.
Very cool I was waiting to check out his first lock. He did pretty awesome for his first challenge lock. Not to many countermill there first one. Nicely picked my friend.
Bobby Keyz that's for sure, I never started counter milling until I had a dozen under my belt. Thanks for watching.
Very nice job my friend.
Bearsback thank you
Nicely done sir. I gave up on mine after two hours lol. The pin in number 4 is an anti bump pin my friend.
Never seen the anti bump pin before, its a sharp one. Take care
Very nice my friend great job😊😊👍👍😎😎
Thanks Leon
Great job “Random” I think it always help when you can make a pick especially for the job. Great video
I purchased a couple box's of starrett feeler gauge last year so when it calls for a pic i have the materials on hand. Thanks Daz
Hahaha yep I think I told you I had to soak mine for two days before I could get it to pop open. It was pinned up the same. But I thought that was an anti bump pin. All the US 5200's only come with a 5 pin crimpt core. I filed mine flat in the back and put a clip on it I hate crimpt cores. And I've talked about options and it's good to jave them with plug followers too. I have the same set you jave but they can be tight in some cores. The followers that come in the HUK are just a bit smaller and they fit much better in the tight cores. I also think it was the M11 I tried that fit the keyway. Any good job buddy I know it was a tough one. ☺
I have been meaning to machine down some smaller followers but i keep forgetting. I did notice later that the body of the lock is not deep enough to fit the 6 pin american core. So i just keyed it for the existing core for now. Thanks for the lock and thanks for watching.
Nice job my friend.
Thank you sir!
Yeah, old gunky ones can be a real pain but it'll be all fixed in no time. And yeah, I support my local locksmith's, gave two of em' lot's of my moneys! :) 😎✌
Got it keyed up last night after i gave it a bath, it cleaned up nice and is hanging of the shelf. Take care Don
