whats that ring u took off at the end im having trouble finding something to put it back on with it was pressed on..?
No special tools used not sure what you mean.
@johnh6791 u got the bearings then a silver ring that sit in between them.. then another piece.. then the spring... do u just let the silver ring sit in between the bearings freely cause mine was pressed onto the stem.. but I can't get it back around it..
@@youngjj757 Mine must have been worn and easier to remove and replace. Maybe you can use a deep socket or a piece of pipe to tap it back into place.
F’n A!
+1 for language! Fuck yeah!!
😂
Use a curved pick for that clip...comes off much easier.
Well sir, I thank you - 10 years later - for solving a reinstall mystery!!
My pleasure
Yep. I just gave up on that damn thing & moved my dimmer to the floor. - Problem solved.
Horn honking made me jump 😂
🤣😂
Thank you for this video
Farkin still gettin it!!
🤩
GIT-R-DONE!!!
Oh yeah. These are terrible
Jesus, get somebody to hold the camera for you.
I'm assuming you have to pull the steering wheel off
Yes of course. That's in video #1.
I just fixed my door on my 91 suburban, your fixed worked great, thanks a lot
How did you get the outside end cap off ? Mine seems super glued
They're junk. Only good for motorcycle tires, at best.
JUNK. Only good for motorcycle or lawn tractor tires.
That little plastic button keeps the cylinder from turning to the point that the column locks. This is why you can't lock your column when in gear.
Good job
thanks!
take the valve stem out so the air goes out
All you fools are retarded you simply walk it through the four steps and bead broken
Nice job, Biff
LOL thanks cob 😄

De nada. Gracias moi bien.
Thanks for the video but dude you almost gave me a seizure with the camera shaking = )
Man that sounds good my guy
Yeah when you mow the grass it sounds like a Chinook LOL
The cruise on my 86 Chevy motorhome engages even in park when the cruise is on. Any ideas? Just started doing it a couple weeks ago.
I am thinking some kind of speed sensor failure. Does it stop if you hit the brake pedal?
@@johnh6791 no brake doesn't kick it out. I was thinking maybe a shorting out wire. Something that also started at the same time is the heater fan stayed on even after the ignition was turned off. Also the batteries did not recharge when the motorhome was plugged in or when the generator was running.

Thanks for posting this, only video I've found that has that damn linkeage in the extra box on the side.
Gotta say, I thoroughly enjoyed your video!! Pretty decent camera work too, I appreciate that. Mostly, since I'm working on my cluster - fuck of a "do-it-myself-truck-repair-after-the-garage-messed-it-up" chevy steering column repair, your video very much matched my mood. (Well, another mechanic and I are working on it). This was only a tiny piece of my picture, but I'm adding to my knowledge bank. Took truck in for non-functioning (well sometimes yes, and sometimes not) wipers. They replaced wiper electrical switch. But now, all else is fu-bar.... dim/bright actuation, hazards, cruise control. Not as simple as just redo the job, now there is electrical troubleshooting as well. But, it's awesome to find so many videos to help, thanks!
Thanks. Go on GMSquarebody.com and sign up for more help and tech info and wiring diagrams. I am 89Suburban on there.

Oh Lawd
So does it lock?
why is the title 73-91, 92-94 uses the same column
More on the square bodies
On the 86 and lower square bodies
This guy helped me out. Love the self criticism. Where did the dude go?
I doubt but hope youll see this and respond but that little rack and gear for the ignition. Is that the same on the non tilt wheel trucks i think mines broken but i dont want to pull it apart and be looking for the wrong thing
I would think they would be the same so go for it
Hey what is that tool called that u used with the wing nut? I can't find one
Steering wheel lock plate remover oem tools #25134 and I think lisle makes them too
@@johnh6791 thanks man, because of ur video I learned how to change my ignition cylinder in my 79 Sierra classic heavy half
@@ianpete3986 good job feels good to fix things yourself glad to help
Whoever went over the double yellow lines must wore sunglasses at night.
You really need to learn to let things go. It isn't that important. Laugh, call him a dumb ass, and move on with your life instead of letting him live your life for you.
NOT GONNA HAPPEN
@@johnh6791 You're way too fixated on this man. You sound like some crazy crackhead on the street. That guy is never gonna see you again, and you're talking to yourself. Let it go

We have yet to catch a major accident on our cam. However today, we got hit from behind at a stop sign and the asshole ran. No damage fortunately, hell I didn't even realize I got hit until I reviewed the cam footage and heard it.
