Hi there! I'm RockmanCosmo, a game preservationist who specializes in Japanese feature phone (keitai) games. From writing articles to speaking at conferences, I have advocated for the preservation of keitai games for over four years. Some of you may know me as the leader of SciLab Secrets, the preservation team that preserved several previously-lost Mega Man i-mode games in December 2023. I primarily use this TH-cam channel to upload longplays of preserved keitai games, for both archival and entertainment purposes. I might also use it for other content in the future, so stay tuned!

This is gameplay of Shadow Shoot, a recently-preserved i-mode game. Its Chinese version was already preserved, but this is the first time that its original Japanese i-mode release has been preserved. This is gameplay of the i-mode port of Rockman X, which was preserved by @YuviApp in September 2024. Surprisingly, this game has online functionality, named a ranked mode with a leaderboard! This gameplay has me go through each stage before uploading my score. My gameplay of Sonic 3D Golf, a recently-preserved i-mode game. It was preloaded on all CA-01C devices. It used stereoscopic 3D! This is Gyakuten Saiban 4 for SH, a demo preloaded on the SH-05B. Capcom made an i-mode port of Gyakuten Saiban 4 (Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney) in 2009. This demo contains the entirety of Turnabout Trump, the first case in the game. Apologies for the occasional stuttering audio; the DoJa 5.1 SDK emulator has poor sound emulation. This is FFVII Snowboarding, a game released for i-mode devices in 2008. A port of the minigame from the original FFVII, it has three courses of varying difficulty. This is an i-mode port of Katamari Damacy, originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2004. It was preloaded on all P904i devices in 2007, containing the first stage of the game. 多少描画が遅い(?)、荒い以外は再現度高いな。 MDより上かもね。 もっともi-mode時代ならCPUはMPU68000より格段に上だろうから当然かな？ ケータイのなら機種によって性能に大きな差が有ってしまうけど。i-mode晩期の端末ならPS位余裕じゃ無いかな？ このゲーム、実はアクセルベタ踏みで左右操作だけでも(ギア落ちるとシフトアップも有るが)クリア出来たりするのでケータイでも結構遊べるかもしれない。

So the i-mode was the original? I only knew the J2ME version. I wonder if it's the same with games like Sonic Jump.
That's usually the case with Sonic's J2ME games! They often originated on i-mode before being released internationally.

I remember about 12 years ago searching around the web for megaman games ported for java phones, I had all classic saga from 1 to 5 saved on my old Nokia X2-01, sadly couldn't find 6, then I saw a post about rockman X and I thought I'd never find the day when I could try this jewel. Fantastic job to those involved!

I think TH-cam's compression screwed up the resolution because it looked significantly better on my end. I'll tinker with my streaming resolution for this upcoming weekend!
