So, going by your explanation,in the most recent history starting some time in the early 1900 there were two major rivalry factions in China fighting for power. They put their differences aside during the invasion from Japan and later on continued their rivalry until one of the sides, was almost crushed, run away and escaped to the area which is known as Taiwan. However the fact remains that both factions were Chinese, which means the loosing side which lives in Taiwan is Chinese, so in end effect Taiwan is part of China. OK, got it. I'm glad you explained it well, because listening to western media just confuses you and blurres the truth.

This video is full of misinformation. The Dutch settlement in Taiwan island was when the island became Han Chinese majority. The Dutch settlers brought Han Chinese from Mainland doing agriculture so that the settlers could be self sufficient instead buying food and supplies from mainland. The Dutch used the island as a trading post with the mainland. That was why the Brits later asked to have Hong Kong as their trading post. The Chinese Ming dynasty kicked the Dutch out and put Ming military on the island to fight Japanese pirates as the Ming dynasty did not have control of the western part of China and Central Asia Silk Road, and traded from the South China Sea. That’s why the South China Sea has been part of China.
