#severinepineaux 300 for a print is pretty cheap considering the gamepiece itself for some of those artifacts cost more. There is definitely a market out there for a good way to track threshold.
you should add the deaths door symbol to one of the blank sides of the element dice that are going unused to kill 2 birds with one stone and maybe something on the other side as well although id have to think about what that would be
I love this idea! I'll prototype this 😀 thanks!

The tokens are a great “happy accident”. If you ever play / played the board can get very crowded with all the sites, minions normal, buried / submerged etc. the mini tokens make it easier to manage and keep track imo.
@TCGSociety agreed. I was thinking, to clean it up even more, we could use 1 token with a dice counter on it.
I wonder financially what the difference is for the company between releasing a set every 3 months VS every 12 months
@casualmentebiancoblu5040 revenue is probably commensurate with the number of releases. Just my guess

@aceofspades6667 i just face my Toploaders horizontally and they fit.
@ will it fit one touch mags vertically ? I need something portable for use as shows thst I can pop open and display to people looking for mags l.
@aceofspades6667 I was able to fit my one touch mags laying on the side.
20:57 To answer your question: Yes, they do edit the images. Saturation, among other. Also, artists often use AI generated art as reference material(They trace it onto paper and paint over it)
As far back as the 5th century they had something called Camera Obscura, where they sit in a dark room and have a pinhole in the wall that displays a projection of the outside scenery on paper inside, which is traced.
Interesting
The art brought me in and the gameplay kept me hooked.
@@ThatGuy-wq4mh I've heard that story a lot, welcome!
I'm confused. It can fit a deck box the right way but not toploaders?

@@D3m0n7x how did you hear about Sorcery Contested Realm? Was it Rudy?
@@TedsBasementPodcast so Let me preface by saying that I currently live in Mexico and Nation wide we only have 2 stores that sell the game so there's very little talk about it here, how ever, I was browsing on amazon for board game deals and found a deal on the 4 elements starter deck box and it called out to me, so I purchased it and then that same day I did a bunch of research into the game, then I found the one store in Mexico that actually has a website with the product in it and got a playmat and one booster box of Arthurian legends!, then since I have to wait a good 20 days for everything to get delivered because their order is actually stuck in customs I just started looking at unboxing videos and from youtube recommendations I found your channel!
@D3m0n7x love that story because you are seeking out something new and making it happen! Welcome to the channel btw! Hope you stick around 😀

Love the game and art...collecting the cards is a BONUS...!!!
Thanks for commenting on both interview videos. It means a lot!
I love the release schedule. Think its enough time to get balance right, build anticipation, appreciate the current set, build different decks & collect. One thing that would be cool would be special releases like maybe premade decks for all avatars that includes cards w/different art. Especially for those who aren't able to complete the sets or purchase boxes, its a good way to get new people in and keep them in a fun, competitive set. #sirpercival
@michaelgomez7665 i like the idea of more pre-cons. Especially with alt art. They could even do different power level pre-cons or themes. Like knights vs monsters, etc.
very good box
@@chrisottaway4471 do you know what the average is supposed to be, in terms of unique count, foil count, etc?
@@TedsBasementPodcast 6 foils perbox. uniques vary and most of the sirs are printed at elite print run so unique count per box is kind of all over the place. but you hit a couple very popular and expensive cards in that box. the nelly longarms is a big one.
#SirPerceval
@@stuvius thank you!
#sirPercy 🍿 good video. Moving from magic, I'm enjoying the less frequent set release.
@robertstrickhart i did the same. I completely moved from MTG (new stuff) to Sorcery. Vintage still holds a special place in my heart but new magic gets lost in abundance. Can't keep up with sets, new mechanics, i build a deck then 3 months later it's outdated. I'm just done with buying new. But I'll play for free on Arena, lol.
@@TedsBasementPodcast I'm in the same boat. Had to give up trying to complete sets. Core 19 was when I got back in and the binders stopped at duskmourne.
; Sir Percival
Thank you! Hope you got enjoyment out of the video
that one year thing is perfect for me. allrdy with these 2 sets now, there are so many options for decks.
@fototryhard i need to pull that Four Waters card to get it in a deck with the Philo Stone! I really hope they never ban cards like MTG did.
@@TedsBasementPodcast i was lucky and got one. I think they made it sooo good with the unique (only one in the deck). And if the decksize grow it gets harder and harder to pull these. If they ever ban cards, (only my guess) they only have to ban tutors. (If i get another one we can trade. I trade against any other unique that i dont have. I dont care about value-cardstuff. Greetings from switzerland 🥳🇨🇭
@@fototryhard i wonder how often people will play with the original deck size (nothing stopping you from agreeing to play any format with your play group), especially just kitchen table gameplay
thats the cool thing about that game 😍😍😍 there can be a world where we have hardcore comp. Players playing 40/20 and the casual tryhardts like me playing the official size 🥳🥳🥳😂😂😂
All boxes are already sold out in Sweden on preorder so I couldn't get any this time either. I managed to buy the starter decks from London (quite expensive) but that's all I've managed to interact with the game. Set looks extremely sweet and I hope the game gets more available so I can play
@stuvius totally agree! As popularity spreads, they need to make sure people all over the world can get the product. I heard there may be another wave that may reach more folks.
@@TedsBasementPodcast Sounds promising! The game is amazing imo
@@stuvius i don't know 100%, its just what i heard in passing, so we will see :)
I don’t like too many sets in a year also. #soyparcelo
Thanks for the hashtag and comment!
Incredible video and commentary. You and I seem pretty alike…2 kids (13 and 11), demanding job, very little free time…..but a passion for this game! While a part of me wants slightly faster release cycle, I love the idea of every 9 months. Anything more frequent than 6 months would be a massive disappointment. I need time to enjoy the set and dwell in it.
@shibbie711 I suspect many of us are adults with responsibilities. As a result, we benefit from a slower cadence to keep a hobby/life balance. I think a mini set around the 6 month mark would be good for people thursting for something before the 12 month mark. Or to your point, a main set on a 9-month cadence is an interesting thought exercise. Thanks for the comment and engagement in my content!
okay so which ones to buy?
@Vzaj- this short should link you to the full-length video here th-cam.com/video/NgaBdHKfbCY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E1QDbugvZshDnvR7
The biggest issue with the 1 set per year is that it is choking the game growth in the beginning. Beta has been unavailable in most places for ages. They have made the decks sizes larger, but the only product available is AL which is a much smaller set. If they need larger decks, they need to reprint Beta so the community can actually make legal decks.
They just did my friend
Beta did get a reprint, and i believe they targeted places around the world that needed it and prioritized that over the U.S.
@@TedsBasementPodcast I ordered my Beta box January this year, it was promised for August, now it is delayed until October. My AL Box is actually coming on Monday, earlier than the reprint of Beta...
@reatter that's wild. I've not heard of a delay like that. I've ordered beta wave 1 and 2 and received them within a week of the order. Sorry to hear that!
Altered is better

Definitely a plus for me for the annual release, and they were upfront about it and following through which is great. My boxes still yet to come, but will likely chase a full foil set and it's great we can take our time with it over the next year before the next set.
@cardfish thanks for commenting. What are your feelings on a mini set part way throughthe year, let's say 20 cards or less?

I've played magic before yet when i looked at game-play i was so confused. After watching your game play with explanation which was fantastic, clear , easy to understand, this picked my interest and i ended up ordering some of the beta decks and few beta boosts. I'm actually excited as i have never seen anything like it and the game play seems very immersive for a card game!
thank you so much for that feedback! love hearing that people get value out of my content. just keep in mind the rules get updates periodically and so you may need to adjust what you heard from me, but thats the general way to play :)
Thank you gentlemen this answers several questions i had about Sorcery
You are very welcome! Rules have been updated since this video was made but it's a start 😀
So the Spellslinger is just a worse Sorcerer? Why, to make drafting better Avatars more important?
Not sure what the design goal was
The Sorcery community is weird
@@MrRayRockstar 🤔
I gots me a draft kit as well and was wondering why it had a copyright symbol. If I could recall, there was a contraversy about the symbol and artists before and during the release of Alpha.
@jont670 i sort of remember that, but I can't recall how many artists actually cared. In this case, I thought that AL is getting its own set symbol. If that's the case, then this kit getting the copyright symbol wouldn't seem to address artist/copyright symbol concerns (if any). Interesting topic though.
I’m pretty sure all of the promo cards have the copyright symbol, but I may be wrong
@@TedsBasementPodcastI believe AL does have its own set symbol.
@@Blue_Narciss it also seems like this set has the copyright symbol along with the sword symbol identifying AL after the artists name
The only way to get these sites are through the kit. There will be different ordinary sites in AL. I like the concept of getting new art each set but I would not buy another draft kit just for new art.
@@TheExperienceShare are you saying that AL will have these sites but with different art? Or different sites all together?
@@TedsBasementPodcast different sites all together. The only way to get the ultra basic sites is this product
@@TheExperienceShare thank you for the clarification and commenting 😀

@TedsBasementPodcast Yes sir. Got 3 cases of AL. Can't wait to rip them.
$19 at this time and there’s also a coupon as well on amazon
Nice!
I was thinking this while putting together a binder of my yugioh cards.. was thinking of adding a button clip instead of the strap. Will definitely do it now
@GoblinCook absolutely, this strap has proven to be a problem over time.
This video was really useful and well done. Loved the way you asked questions to further expand the understanding of basic mechanics as written.
@TazarYoot so glad you got value out of it. Keep it mind that rules have changed and mechanics have become better understood since the video was published. But the concept is there.
The fact the you can close the top with a deck bock is huge
@@cameronheadrick7667 agreed, it's fairly versatile 😀
Wtf is this video
@@malachiashley528 I dont understand the question.
Would it curve the cards?
the moisture results in curving the cards depending on how its foiled. The reason is that the moisture enters the non-foiled side of the card but not the foiled side. this results in the cardboard expanding slightly on the non-foiled side which makes the surface area greater on that side but not the foiled side, which results in a curve. I hope that helps.
If you just stretch the strap on these after buying this is not a problem in the least.
I suspect that it could retract over time. The best option for me was to leave the strap off while on the shelf and only use the strap when in travel for a short period of time.
