Most likely got a hot wire grounding out somewhere. When you don’t put a fuse near the battery on the positive cable this will happen when you ground stuff out and it passes enough amps. Battery is most likely toast now and I wouldn’t try to use it again. With the lid melting it could now let gases escape and they are flammable and explosive so any spark and 💥. So be careful
very sound advice🔥🔥🔥🔥 this entire boat has been nothing but a big replacement🤦♂️😂 sadly everything else except the trolling motor and a bunch of small sand and fill spots have been gone through and redone by myself🤦♂️ I'm just thanking GOD i saw it happen, it grounded out when i went to add a charger to the battery. i guess when amps where added it was enough to make a connection and melt a red wire up at the head unit. my foot pedal steering has a stainless steal rods that caused the short im thinking all and all wild🤦♂️💀😂, sound advice on the fuse. I'm very surprised the original owner didn't add one. and yes 1000% i will be getting a new battery "entire setup"🙏🤦♂️😂🔥🔥
