Virtual Festival 2024 - OUSDS - Steps into the Future
A display of dances themed around Steps and Clocks devised by Sam Schad. Some dances are old, from RSCDS Book 1, while others are very recent, with 'Clockwork' having been devised by Niall Bootland, our beginners class teacher.

Impressed. As a Scottish Highland dancer and also a Scottish country dancer I know how hard this dance can be for the men during the step dancing traditional steps sections. Takes a lot of strength and grace especially keeping the posture straight and all the lines from the feet, legs and not forgetting those arms held in place aloft, takes a lot of rehearsing. All in unison. The ladies are younger and obviously look more flexible and mobile and cover more ground easier. But the men deserve special praise. A few of them are not so young but exemplify the spirit of Scottish dance. Clearly well advanced demonstration from experienced dancers. Well done everybody. Great video.

Wild night in Oxford!
Nicely done! Congratulations to the performers and their teachers/coaches. I also want to recognize these young people's parents and the sacrifices they made to allow their children to pursue dance. Thank you all for a lovely performance. I literally broke into applause as it ended.
