100km Row
มุมมอง 3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The challenge of rowing 100,000 meters on a Concept 2 is typically done over several days, if not, over the course of a month. With a little bit of spirit and grit, Abe managed to finish the challenge in 9 hours and 20 minutes. One of the proudest moments to see this man, my best friend, finish this grueling task. very good. I liked you showed everything writer all of them.
Good shit dude. So far my best distance rows are a 3 hour 15 min marathon, and 3 hour 53 minute 50k. I am getting ready for my 100k row in a few weeks
What camera were you using to film?
@@Scream4Cheese I was using a Sony a74 and GoPro Max
Has it got eye af
Does it charge apple watch ?

I got 18.7 on my pint no noise dive no fall.
what camera did you shoot this video on? The colors are amazing.
iPhone 13 Mini Cinematic mode 😬
@@MarcoWut any reason as to why you decided to flip the imagery?
@@daktarioskarvannederhosen2568 sorry I’m not sure what you mean
@@MarcoWut most of the video is composed of footage whereby its appearance is reversed in a manner analogous to e.g. watching something on a tv via the reflexion of the tv's screen in a mirror.
@@daktarioskarvannederhosen2568 hm that’s strange, I posted it as it was shot 😅
Don’t think it’s chargers the Apple Watch
I’m attempting a 100k this weekend! Done a few marathons before but I imagine this will be completely different, you’re sorta *forced* to use the bathroom and bring 2 pairs of headphones, phone charger, etc.
Bro I love my A7R ❤
Dang dude good job! Dude rows 100km and then just stands up. I’m going to just fall off the rail.
A month ago I also completed the Century. 100k is a very daunting prospect at any age, especially if you are aged. My training for this challenge was over a four month period, increasing from Half Marathons, to a Full then two 50K's. My feeding certainly wasn't spot on, nor the number of toilet breaks, so there is certainly room for improvement. The total stoppage time was 36 mins with a finish time of 8.57.00.3. A split of 2.41.1. DF 110. Male Age 76 Lightweight.
My guy doesn’t understand what magsafe is.
Strong row. 👍💪
Yo! Is there an option not to do the rope? Cos I saw you did burpees instead
If you fail an obstacle or choose not to do it, they require you to do 30 burpees 🥲
How many burpees are required if you don’t pass an obstacle ?
The one I just bought is charging so I’m watching this for no reason 😆
Just got this camera for £580 nearly new for astro, 1st camera so super excited
Did you do any specific workouts to help you train? I’m looking to do the next one next month.
This is no easy feat. Congratulations Abe on completing the 100k.
Maybe people don't say this, but this camera is fun, modern a7 are so great with af and auto exposure they feel almost automatic, while this old a7r feels more like a DSLR having you to actually know what you are doing to get a great picture, I love it for it, of course not for paid work
I'm attempting 100k in 7 months' time - Any training tips?
Hi DAvid, I have done 100km in one sitting before, and will do it again in 10 weeks time. Training tips 1. Get your technique nice and tidy. you're going to do like 10,000 repetitions, so make sure you have good rowing technique 2. Drag factor is important. I don't know what the drag factor is for the gentleman rowing here, but it looks pretty high. Too high in my opinion. That flywheel looks pretty heavy. I row at a drag factor of around 110 for the long distance pieces. 3. Find a rhythm and breathing pattern that works for you. 4. Accumulate time on the rower. Start trying to accumulate 40-50 km per week, starting with smaller rows. lots of half marathons, moving towards some marathon distance rows. 5. 3 weeks or so before attempting the 100km, do a 60 km row. That should be the furthest you g in training 6. Seven months is a long time. I used a 26 week training schedule last time, and while it worked ok it was long and I might have devoted too much time to rowing the first time around. But you're in good shape timing wise. 7. have a fan running and blowing on you, it helps tremendously to keep your heart rate in check if you're not overheating 8. drink 50:50 juice water blend with some salt added every 20 min. (it just takes a couple seconds, no need to get off the machine). 9. Not sure how long you are expecting to take, but you're going to need to eat. Aim to ingest 60-80 grams of carbohydrates per hour .
@@sanbornify Mike, You are very generous. That information is key to my plans. Very much appreciate all points and will take all of them into consideration. Hadn't thought of most of those. So truly thanks a mill. Btw, Did you take breaks and for how long? And what about the seat and ass situation?!
@@sanbornify Mike - that's all very worthy and generous advice. Am much obliged to you for taking the time to tell me all of those points, which I have now put on my checklist. Am half looking forward to it and half dreading as it is important to have balance!! Good luck with your event and I'll be shouting for ya! D
@@davidoreilly3213 Thanks David. I took my first short break at 40 km. Short breaks to get some blood in the ass are useful. If you're trying to keep a certain pace though, these can add up. The ass pain issue is a tough one, and it;s why you need to start accumulating km's on the rower. I used an Endurow seat, but the normal Concept 2 seat is decent. I wouldn't recommend too much extra cushioning, as it reduces blood flow, but a little might be helpful. Honestly, it;s about time in the saddle, and perseverance. You got this!! Also, there is a thread on the concept 2 forums that is dedicated to endurance erging (42km and up) and there is a lot of good information there.
Does it have live view?
is this from a parallel universe? (the imagery is flipped)
If you lift your heel at higher speeds will the motor stop also??
try apples silicone magsafe cases
Pint X is the best, plenty of battery and torque for my needs and I'm 230. What makes it stand out is the carveability. It's super smooth and easy, makes it super fun to just cruise around. For stopping, the slam stop is the way to go. Great to know if you need to stop abruptly and it looks cool as well. lol Enjoy the Float!
Looking to pick this body up. I already have an a7c but I wanted another body and this has higher megapixels. Def a buy for me for the price.
I think it really depends what you use your camera for. I don't shoot video, I don't shoot a lot of portraits or wildlife and I don't shoot sports. The advantages of upgrading the body v.s. getting new lenses just isn't worth it for me. Instead of upgrading to the A7R iii or iv, I spent the difference on a the 50mm GM 1.2 - which IMHO is a much more impactful upgrade than just the body (at least for my use cases).
Those cases are not magsafe 😂
You have wrong Shoes dude. (The Front Sensor Pad) You need flat Shoes
This review was legit the best I’ve seen… real review, real tips on a real ride; not a bunch of self promotion just straight up thoughts and advice. Thanks, ima start shopping for my Pint X after this
Thank you so much! That means a lot
Wow, very atmospheric! What pp did you use for zve10? No gimball, right? :)
It’s the most megapixel Sony camera that can be converted for Astro and IR photography. If your doing tripod work over 1 second you should be fine with shutter shock. As for as batteries get a bunch, they are small and cheap. Forget video and sports that’s for new cameras.
What I needed to hear man just got this camera fairly new for astrophotography, coming tomorrow so I'm looking forward to using it
The Pint X has a major design flaw in the battery housing that leads to damaged BMS balancing wires and main battery leads.
Ok and when mine stops working I will get it fixed
Another update please?!
Coming soon!
Hahaha yea Van Courtlandt will always be the park where cross country kicked my ass in High School

The intro 😂 I really like it felt like I was watching tv or comedy show 😄 Thanks Great video 👍
Ah thank you so much I really appreciate it
"why you watch one of my TH-cam videos" I'm already regretting watching this one.
Why
Rad vid yo!
Ah thank you!!
My A7Rii is 42 MP and it has silent shutter, just choose electronic shutter. It also shoot video 4k30. I think that is one of the major cons of Sony cameras in general, is the menu system. It can be hard to find what you want and discover what you need. I bought this camera about a year and a half ago and hated it for my main carry. But loved it for Product Photography. I just recently picked it up and spent some quality time with it to learn the menu system to use it for landscape photography. The results were awesome. Spend some quality time with your camera. You may not need the latest upgrade. Use that extra money for quality lenses.
This is some very solid advice, a good camera can be great in the right hands… also paired with a great lens 😅
Menus have always been the sore point for any Sony electronics. I've hated the menus since they first started putting them in CRT TVs back in the 90s.
I’m a real estate photographer, one of my clients just sent me a whole list of camera equipment they came into with an estate sale, guess who is picking up an A7r for $275, ya baby. My normal camera is a7riii but this will be awesome for my personal shoots or backup cam. Great vid by the way!
Ah that’s awesome! Less than half the price of what’s out there 😅 totally worth it
Is that fake bokeh?
iPhone 13 cinematic mode haha!
So yeah lol
Don’t you just hate when the camera just stops biggest wtf moment lol but great video bro that was intense

Always an honor to run alongside you 🫡
Great Camera👌
I rode my gt through wet conditions and got more and more comfortable back in spring, and so I rode it to work and it was raining a little on the way home after pouring, I had to ride it through some unavoidable puddles and everything was fine… The next day I turned it on to go to work and it ghosted on me around the time everyone else’s started after about 200 miles, they sent me a replacement front footpad and it hasn’t ghosted since but I’m trying to figure out whether I can ride my gt and ping x in the winter through the snow bc I don’t have money to replace them lol
Well my buddies GT ghosted on him around 200miles and he had ridden through rain in the beginning. I’m not sure if there’s a direct correlation but I know GT’s have been inconsistent with their system. Such a powerful device but the stories I’m hearing are scaring me from getting it
@@MarcoWut it did to me as well, I’ve only got 350 on it since shipment so I’ve got another 100 miles or so until this footpad gets to “that point” I really hope it doesn’t ghost again because my gt took off on me
@@SnowyBlizzard yeah its also a big safety hazard, im constantly worried that itll just tip over on me. Gotta keep those helmets and wrist guards on 😅
@@MarcoWut I LIVE by wrist guards minimum XD especially since my friend broke his elbow on my gt wearing nothing lol
@@SnowyBlizzard ugh it’s so easy to fall off haha take it from me. Better to look like a dweeb than to be injured :(
