How to build a deck: DIY pallet wood deck build for under $100
In this video I'll show you how to build a DIY pallet wood deck for cheap. This is a above ground deck but it can also be built under ground using the same method if you dig in a little bit. I used 6 pallets to get a final product of about a 12x12 deck. make sure to subscribe for more DIY builds!

Looking really cool her is a question could you not kind of paint it soak the panels ? In order to make it longer lasting ? I don’t have the money yet to hire a company but want something nice and simple like this to build ( since I’m not that good of a measuring person 🤣)
Yes
This is awesome !! Gave me an Indeed before adding a real deck.. love this project !! ❤️
"I"m sorry.. but, that appears to be a 12 x 8 deck.. (12ft along the wall x 8ft from the wall..) and seeing that the pallets appear to be 4ft x 3ft.. and you used 8 of them... that's 12ft x 8ft.
Appreciate you making this video. It’s inspirational.
You just made this look so easy. I also live in a rental but I feel like my backyard is missing a small deck. Thank you for this video.
Have you now taken your build apart or has it rotted in the 3 years since this video was made? Im keen on doing a similar project myself
Same question. Great job by the way!
I took it down around the two year mark. Was still in great condition when it was removed. The only maintenance I would do is coat it in linseed oil twice a year. Seemed to help with the longevity.
I'm going to try this. I need a small deck for patio furniture.
I love your dogs. I have a boxer too and she helps me do everything outside and absolutely just loves being outside with me. Hope you enjoy your hard work. Dont listen to the haters. To build something with your own hands is quickly becoming a lost art.
dude feed the dogs away from the project 😜
Love it!
Oh I'm doing this, I'm in an RV Park!
Dogs had no chill lol
I've been looking at ideas to build a floor for my mancave in my barn. This is what it will be.
That’s going to look awesome man.
Doing this for SURE until i can have concrete poured!
Same!
It’s oak!
If you treat the pallets can it last a bit longer? I’m in a rental as well
Great but what materials do I buy ????
Pallets, wood and screws would be a good start 👍
I love this idea. Great Job!
Ready for a stripper pole now lol. Looks good to me. I love pallet projects
Wouldnt weather staining it keep from rot...i need to to do this so i am asking
It should. You can also give a coat of outdoor paint
How about Kilnz
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Please god wear knee pads
For your information Troxell makes GREAT Comfortable Knee Pads. And if you just need Pressure off your legs, Knee Pads like the Pro Knee Pads 400, Spread your weight to knees and shins.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome idea! I had to watch it twice because i kept watching the dogs run around! 😂
This looks great! Simple, easy for a beginner and budget friendly. Haters gonna hate. I really like it!
Looks great! The homeowner might just want you to leave it.
Can I do this with the plastic / PVC pallets?
Why not use an impact & screws? It’ll be easier if you have to take it apart.
Great. Ty.
Beautiful 🤩 good job 👏
8 palet
Great job 👍
Haters gonna hate. Great job!
I have no experience but what type of wood would I need to make a more durable deck like this? I have a 10x10 gazebo Im buying and wanted it to sit atop a deck like this with the deck being about 12x12.
Cedar or a pressure treated pine would be a good option.
I made a deck with plastic pallets. It's been in place now for 3 years. It's literally the exact formula.
How did you nail the top boards to the plastic pallets?
@manowar8075 The plastic pallets required no top boards. Its smooth tops were perfect. I did, however, add outdoor waterproof adhesive and a dry cement method to control the shifting between the pallets. I then topped with a custom size outdoor rug.. i got from Ollies .Be sure to get "free milk or beer pallets" they are the strongest. They also have no holes on the top of the surface..
@@kimberlyt4361 Do you have a picture or video?
Wow! A fantastic short term lasting build for temporary decking. Well done 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾 thank you for sharing 👍🏾
Your Boxer makes a great supervisor, and your Shepherd makes a great inspector ❤
It is possibly, I was able to make one. Not as big, and with inflation it cost a little more, but was cheaper than other methods.
B rillant idea!!!!
U did an amazing job.
What did you use to cut the planks neatly
I love this concept. Thank you for the idea!
😊❤
Great work!!!😊 The finished product looks amazing✨
Just wood laying in dirt 🤔. I give it 3 years.
3 years, for $100 and a little bit of time, well worth it! Especially for something like at a camp, or a temporary solution like in a rental property etc.
Can this be painted to stop the rot?
Use tung oil or a paint stain.
Be nice to work without the distractions of the dogs 😂
Very nice job great work indeed. I will attempt the same. May I ask what size nails did you use?
Nice work! Why are so many people leaving negative comments, what is it you expect for $100? He mentions it temporary and a rental, anyone else have any ideas to build a nice sturdy TEMPORARY deck for $100....would love to hear them....😂
Exactly 🤣
I will be attempting this come spring this is perfect for renters fuck everyone else
The th-cam.com/users/postUgkxS-P9OAq3v4HNpPFqYFWNEq9A-E_PbZIN are indeed helpful, and the product is entirely promising if you are looking forward to building a single shed in your home It is entirely different from the other havoc packages that we usually see online and therefore it is such a package beyond expectations!
