How to cut an inlay flush, with a cordless router.
Using a larger base on the cordless router to flush out an inlay. I making a circle inlay for a corn-hole board. Simple jig saved a lot of time sanding. This saved a lot of time.

How much of a PIA is a locked miter bit? Well... if with this fantastic purpose designed system, the Microjig guy still says his results are "usually" perfect.
ty Dan :D
Nice video. I’m trying to figure out how to make a good DIY jig… I have 30 cutting boards that need a juice groove.
This is an excellent video and thanks for keeping it simple!❤
Thanks, exactly what I needed for consistent repeatable keyhole cuts on my pic frames!
@@philswiftfan7228 I’m glad it helped!
This is great, I wonder though if it could be adapted to route dadoes in narrower pieces of ply, I am thinking for the bottom of drawers, I have just 2 drawers to make so don't need to build a table exactly.
I have done that! Make a wood router base plate, screw a wood fence on it. Now you can cut grooves for the drawer bottoms.
cant stand it if there's no talking
Easy and to the point! Little intro music and a mic on your shirt and I’d subscribe.. 😉
I’ll have to work on that!
@@diywoodworkingdan The sound was actually okay, sure a lavalier mic would improve it but not critical. You don't need music imo, intro wouldn't hurt but please not in the background to you talking.
Suggest you watch the shaper sessions video on how to cut mortise and tenon. They demonstrate a much slicker way of doing it. And more precise
Awesome! Thanks 😊
Also… holy smokes what a PEZ collection!!!!! Bringing back some memories there man!
Hey Dan! First off… Yay Covina! My hometown! Grew up there and worked at Northwoods Inn for 20 years. Second… amazing work man! Unbelievable. Truly. It is mind boggling to me. I stumbled onto one of your videos trying to figure out how to make some carom board type games for the family. ( I have zero experience ) I don’t know if you remember these games or not. I used to play them at the Covina Park Recreation during the summer. Really great memories. I’m hoping to replicate them to get my grandkids off their damn phones and iPads. 😂 Do you think it’d be possible to get some advice/pointers from you one day, say over a sandwich at Capri Deli? I can pay for a lesson or something like that if it’s not too steep. I saw that you do zoom calls but I have cochlear implants and don’t use the phone so I’m afraid I might not hear too well on a zoom. Judging from your work and incredible skill, it shouldn’t be too complicated or take too much of your time. It sure would be a blessing. I can’t seem to find what I need on “youtube college” mostly because I don’t know the correct terms to search. I know it’s a weird request, but I thought I’d try. Hopefully you haven’t moved to Arizona already. Although I wouldn’t blame you. I want to move there but the wife won’t go on account of the 5 daughters and grandkids here. 🫤. Oh well. Thanks for your time. All the best, Ray
We can try zoom, they have a cc mode and made you can read the conversation. If you think that may work, I can send you the link. Thursday nights a 6:00 is the zoom meeting.
@@diywoodworkingdan okay, thanks Dan. We can give it a shot! 👍
I thought your lesson was very concise and easy to understand. Thank You
Thank You!
Does anyone have any links to either the bit, or the fitfinder?

I love the table it reminds me of a welding fabrication table! just to confirm what do the slots do?
They are dovetail grooves in which a clamp fits into.
Best jig I have seen yet.
I’m glad you liked it! I’ve done this for years now.
Perfect Exactly what i needed to know prior to making my daycare shelves. Thanks so much!
Simple and effective. Gonna build a couple of them. Thanx.
Great video, how about putting the vacuum hose over your shoulder as you go around, it might help with clearance👍
Did my first brick pattern the other day. Lord that end grain mortar about kicked my butt. I learned ALOT though!
Cheap built buildings, they are junk
Good thing it was expensive!
Thanks for a simple and functional jig
THANK YOU,!!
This is a great system. Nice work microjig
I have a 40 year old 1/4 HP Feeder. It slips constantly so I contacted Western Roller and ordered the Blue wheels (they have the most grip). I am using it on my tablesaw and hoping it fixes my problems. They are very friendly and easy to order at Western Roller.
Awesome video! I’m going to try this product for my cutting boards. I’m a beginner and just built my first coffee table and have been looking into finishes for the table. Previously just been using mineral oil and beeswax
Poly is not food safe.
@grantb8840 I’m not using on a cutting board! This a top for tv tray table.
@@diywoodworkingdan I should have seen that. I saw mineral oil and beeswax and cutting board but missed the part about the coffee table.
Nice show
look you or work thair. and you say or a # of times
This is me filming a guy at a woodworking show, talking about the new Microjig router bit. Not sure I understand stand what you are trying to say.
Well about time a company figured an easy way to set up this type of bit. Thanks will be buying it the next time I have a project that I want to use this type of bit on.
How are you not getting streaks like this?
I sand between coats. Try sanding with a finer grit between each coat. Maybe even a scotch bright pad on the final coat. I do probably apply 5 to 7 coats before I’m happy. I’m finding it to be a nice and durable finish . Let me know how it goes. Steel wool works too, just not on a water base finish. I’ve heard of it rusting fibers not cleaned off.
Thank you. You answered all my questions about the upgrade.
on a bonded assembly that cannot be moved around like the piece of wood you are busy with, can you change the orientation of the part that sands and the part that guides to sand from the other side of the assembly?
Perfect
Amazing how many people bitch about someone’s video but can’t make one themselves.
what an awesome jig, pity I only see it now, after doing about 40 of them!
awesome jig….thanks Dan. I’m making this tomorrow to help on a project my wife and I are working on.
Genius. Why have no one thought of this before?
Perfect
Your audio needs fixing
Hey Dan, I have the same power feed. How did you order the wheels? Did you have to send in your old ones? They asked me a bunch of questions about the cores that I didnt know how to answer
Western Roller Corp. in Oregon. I gave them the model number of the power feeder. The new wheels are awesome.
I did not have to send the old ones.
on their site it shows the measurements for all the different wheels. Just measure yours and call them to order.
Congratulations on upgrading to quality equipment… In my opinion the snap on of the laser world… One thing I have not tried yet with my laser and is curious if you have one would like to know how easy does the laser cut cedar? And is there any tips or tricks, you have learned for doing such
The thickest I’ve got is 3/8” plexiglass.
What did you use for the mirrors
1/8” Gold mirror plexiglass.
Excellent content and presentation. This jig works perfectly for not only dados but rabbets as well. Thank you Dan! Btw, love your shop-Lucky!
And what do you do when the piece being routered is taller than the T-square?
I make another longer T-square. I’ll make them to fit my needs.
Dang Dan, you've been busy! Project is looking great!!
Thank you! I’m trying to do a little each day.

Been following this build through your social media posts. Looks awesome now that it has all come together!
Thanks Dean it was a fun project!
Great job Dan! Looks fantastic!
Thank you!
Gee what a great idea. I have been struggling with my 2 air brushes for years. Changing color cups all the time. And HF has a set of 6. I'll have to try them. It sure would be nice to make a change as simple as grabbing a different brush.
