I love me some Jackie and I am so proud of her success. However, I am someone who is staunchly against the culture of overconsumption and any practices that contributes to it, I do believe that how Jackie promotes is problematic. But that is not specific to her. I do enjoy her content, but I am becoming increasingly more mindful as a consumer. People just need to understand they are being sold to. Jackie is just doing her job. I may not like hyper consumerism, but I love Jackie so I support her in the way that aligns with my values, likes, clicks, and views. Yes she was told she owed a certain amount but if her insurance went up , taxes increased ( because her equity in the home increased ) and maybe her mortgage rate increased could be the reason she owes money. The escrow account is the extra money needed to owning a home and the bank makes you put money into it to ensure tht if you default on payments they wont get burned. Like if you dont have home owners insurance and the house burns down ( the bank will be assed out ) if you dont pay your taxes the government can seize the home. You really suppose to put some money into the account up front so your not surprised like this lady. Also you shouldnt get an escrow account if you can help it. Try to pay enough money up front so you wont need one

I have been a landlord and a tenant. Some tenants left my property a mess, it is costly to make all necessary repairs and the eviction process is long and expensive as well. Tenants have lots of rights, you can ask for a walkthrough inspection before moving out and the landlord must tell you what to fix in order to return your deposit, this needs to be in writing. If the landlord keeps your deposit, they need to put it in writing also. When I was a tenant I always got my deposit back. Each state had a website where you can go to read your rights. Anyway, I do agree that these housing prices are insane.
