    I just came across this video this was a great tutorial! I really want to get a P71 but don’t know much about the common problems it has. Hardly any videos of that. That’s something I would definitely want to learn before making a purchase.. anyways keep posting!

      @@Mrnormalsense Thanks, Much appreciated! The P71 is a great platform that is essentially very bullet proof with a few common issues. The intake manifold will crack because it is plastic, but that’s a pretty easy fix. Also the blend door actuator can be problematic and that can be a little difficult to fix as much of the dash needs to be removed. The main thing I would be cautious of is getting one that was used heavily in police duty with higher miles higher idle time and not maintained well. I have come across those. If you find one like mine, that was a govt official vehicle, you should be in good shape. I have my eye on another one that is like that in Kentucky at the moment. It has some rust but is well maintained and has under 100k mileage. You can find them on govdeals and other auction sites. The other good thing about this platform is that parts are readily available and cheap. The car is pretty easy to work on. Ford did a great job of designing the Crown Victoria to withstand a lot of punishment and abuse so if you can find one where maintenance has been done routinely, you should have a very reliable car.

      @@Mrnormalsense Thanks for the Sub! For sure check out govdeals.com and publicsurplus.com. I do a lot of detail content but I’m just a car guy at heart. The Crown Vic has been a great subject because there is a huge following and they are really easy to maintain. For this specific car, I’m on video 11 and I probably have close to that left to go. So all in all, probably around 20 videos on this car. Your question has given me an idea to cover maybe the problems you might have owning one. Although there are not many, the idea about covering the points in a video and what to look for if you are going to pick one up makes a lot of sense.

      Uno Advanced is awesome!!! That technique is one I use just about any time I apply polish, glaze, or sealant using the polisher. I just think it helps to spread it out, even it somewhat on the pad, and not sling it or apply it too much in a concentrated spot.

    How do u activate the cruise control?

    • @JZ_Cars
      @JZ_Cars 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The car would need to have cruise control from the factory. I do not believe this program has any ability to activate cruise control.

    • @mikeeyg1977
      @mikeeyg1977 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have a 2006-2011 maybe 2005, I forget one year they switched. You will need a steering wheel that has the controls and it needs to be activated via fords IDS software and VCM, FORScan cannot program ECM. You used to be able to buy a 1-3 day IDS license from ford. If it’s an older CVPI before drive by wire then it all mechanical and all parts can be taken off another Vic with Cruise Control.

    Ok so I have seen you answer the 2007 RKE question but I want to see about a 2007 solution. I went ahead and followed the steps you have in the video and my 2007 does go into programming mode after the 8 key turns. However, just as you have said the remote will not program. I am wondering if anyone knows if changing the DDM to a 2008 would fix this?

    • @JZ_Cars
      @JZ_Cars ปีที่แล้ว

      One guy did a video about it. I think you need the receiver along with the correct door module. I’ll see if I can find the video and send the link to you, but I have no idea if it works. See below. th-cam.com/video/rvjEMS2aLP4/w-d-xo.html

      @@JZ_Cars Problem solved. Well before I saw your link I did the research myself. All you have to do is add an antenna (receiver-antenna is ford language) and program just like you show in the video. You do not have to change the DDM like in the link or at least you do not on a 2007. The test would be follow your video and if your car goes into program mode but the FOBs do not program then only an antenna is needed. I got my antenna from a junk yard. The location is passenger side rear panel beside the rear window. I mounted the antenna inside the drivers door right below the crossmember that goes across the biggest opening. I did not do the trunk release and I do not think I am going to at this time. I have pictures of locations if anyone needs them.

      Mr. Scott, this stuff makes the door panels look so nice to me. It darkens up plastics that look ashy and worn down. Of course, you are aware of that and it’s your description that was dead on accurate on your site that got me to try it for the first time. I think I’m on bottle number 4 now😁 The camera didn’t truly capture just how awful the door panel looked on this Vic. By far, this is my favorite interior detailer for taking the doors and dash back to insane levels. I have a buddy who always asks me about it after I did a quick cleaning on his Yukon interior. I had about a third of a bottle left one time and I asked him if he wanted it and I think his response was “Oh Hell YEAH!!!” 👊

      I wouldn’t classify it as citrus. It’s hard to describe. But it smells good to me and the smell is only really there for the first day or two and then sort of dissipates. But the deep rich appearance lasts quite a bit longer.

    This works because of the grit. You know what else is gritty?? Sandpaper. Using Sandpaper, fine grit, works much better

    • @JZ_Cars
      @JZ_Cars ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it has abrasion. Not as aggressive as sandpaper but yes it cuts. I actually ended up needing to use wet sanding on this which I did a video on (with a poor camera angle I might add) but showing the process in several phases. I suck at filming and editing, and probably talking, but I don’t suck at getting my headlights nice. Thanks for taking a look and commenting. God Bless and have a nice day!!!

    • @mkb5984
      @mkb5984 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a an entire method to that-not just sandpaper. There are many different grits and it has to be kept wet when using it, so for the novice this may be much easier.
