Ham and Enos, (monkeys) 🇺🇸 Felicette (cat), Martine, Pierette (monkeys) 🇫🇷 Abrek, Bion, (monkeys) Dymka, Belka, Strelka, Laika (dogs) 🇷🇺 Don’t know if they (besides Laika) were the animals in the ending shot where they turn to stars, but that’s at least some of them. In the future I think we won’t be allowed to use animals for any experiments. At least I hope. This is a really heartfelt little animated tribute for them.

Genuinely crying over this. I’ve always thought the tale of Laika was tragic and sad, and this animation is so fucking beautiful. The visuals of the needles and tubes turning into spires that remind me of depictions of angels was heart-wrenching.

i keep getting more and more videos of laika lately and YOU guys do not need to make me cry more over this lovely dog more than i already do. all these tributes are so wonderful. I wish laika a beautiful rest up in the stars. she made it possible for her successors to return home safely, to be heros the way she was - even though the idea is so painful in many ways. laika was loved, laika was chosen because she was loved, she was smart, she was incredible. that was her only fault. being a loved dog whose end was't deserved.

A Laika warning would have been lovely and now I’m bawling my eyes out 😭😭😭😭

If nothing else, I’m just glad that her name persists even to this day. We never forgot about Laika.

This made me cry. I always questioned how ethic this experiment was, yet I never knew for sure and didn't go into the topic too much. Clearly it did no good for Laika, nor for any other of our furry friends who met the same fate as her. Thank you for making this tribute. 💜
