07 toyota camry 2.4L won't start after 5mins off, after a long run. fixed fuel pump problem
07 toyota camry 2.4, the car had a crank no start issue. After a long run, or after reaching it's regular working temperature. If the car was turned off for more than 5mins it wouldn't start. The client had to wait for the car to cool down, or after 30 mins it would start. The problem was caused by a weak and malfunctioning fuel pump. After replacing it the car was fine.

The "P" indicator would continue to blink when car off. It would turn off when the doors were close and ignition switch in on or run, it would turn on if any door would open or the moment the the ignition key would be in the off position. the issue was a bad and worn out gearshift selector switch.

    Hey Jorge really good job the sample way to unlock it just in case it happens and I have a question for you the parts that you are using are OEM parts or from other source I am about to do the whole thing change the gears everything and I am preparing myself to do it but I would like to know if someone already use a different parts other than OEM. Because another thing is the parts from Toyota are really expensive they're original but really expensive and when I go to Lexus website which is Toyota official parts supplier or something like that going on there is little bit cheaper it's kind of crazy it's like 4 different prices three different prices something like that the dealer is one price in the Internet is another price and Lexus website is another price but anyway what are your thoughts about using different brand or anybody that will want to give me an opinion is really appreciated

    I need to replace this in our camry. Is it possible diy for someone that does oil change and brakes. How much for a job like this?

    • @jorgearana2721
      @jorgearana2721 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it's possible for you to do, just work slow and take your time with it. For the whole timing job it was $500 for labor plus parts. I can't quite remember total for this customer, but it was around 850 or so. The rest was timing kit, timing cover gaskets set , valve cover gaskets set, oil change. You could also replace your oil pump while in there as well. Are you trying to do the whole timing job, or just replace the intake cam?

    The four smaller circular bolts on the VVT (silver in color), do you know what torque spec they are? I took mine off but the manual I relied on said to just unbolt it and remove. Two other manuals I came across said I need to follow that compressed air procedure to unlock the pin etc.. or it can be damaged. I took my VVT apart (removed three VVT housing bolts) to inspect the inside (and realign pin). Nothing looked broken, so putting back together but I don't have the exact torque requirements for the bolts. Do you happen to know what the torque values are? (2003 Nissan Pulsar (Almera in europe, Sentra in other countries, Sylphy in Japan) N16 QG18DE engine. I don't have that alldata manual you mentioned in the video, only a Europe FSM and Haynes manual.

      My apologies I reread your text and you did give the info. I looked it up right now, but unfortunately it doesn't give me the specs on it. Most of the time if you screw it in, and when it's tight where you have to put more force on it to screw it in. Give it just another quarter turn, and that's usually where the specs should be.

    So what is the proper procedure? Install camshaft, torque, lock the camshaft, then install the chain? Going to replace my camshaft soon on my 2011 Highlander 2.7

    • @jorgearana2721
      @jorgearana2721 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check to make sure the camshaft is in the unlock position, the 2 dots on it shouldn't be aligned with each other. If they are you need to do the unlocking procedure, you can do that while its installed but the camshaft bolt should just be snugged, and if you have trouble you can do it like i did. I unlocked it like i showed in the video, than Install it and just snug the bolt. Than Install the rest of the time components. Once you have all in place. Recheck that the camshaft is still in the unlocked position. Since it could move when installing the chain. If all good than torque the cam bolt. Your's is a highlander , the procedure might be different. Most cars you can just install and torque the cam phaser. I'll check for you and let you know in my spare time. Are you doing just the chain or full timing job.

    While changing my intake VVTI, my timing change skipped a tooth on the exhaust. This job is very annoying. I would recommend anyone changing the intake Vvti to first add like a rubber hose on between the exhaust gear and the gap on the right of the engine so it doesn't slip.

    • @cali0559
      @cali0559 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did it cause any damage. What did it sound like or do once you turned the car on. Just curious to know.

    • @JetP20
      @JetP20 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anyone doing it, the exhaust gear, has tension taking it anti-clockwise so the rubber hose is a must or else which trying to hold the chain with bungie cords it will slip also. I could have probably turned the gear clock wise and put the chain back into the correct position, but with no prior experience thought it would be safe to remove the timing cover and validate all is good at the bottom as well.
