I have found a used one for sale. What was wrong with yours when you bought it. Was it hard to fix? Can you get parts for them?
@paultalalay5700 it had a few leaky push fit air fittings, but was mostly functional.
How did you get full auto windows?
I swapped out the full speed 6 interior and wiring for the door panels and the stereo. It required a lot of cross referencing the wiring diagrams from the speed 6 to the Mazda 6. I had to add pins in the door wiring bundle and a few other places as well. It was not a simple swap out.
@@meestahwah Oh, ok. I have a dead Mazda 6 2008 with the fully automatic driver and passenger window. If I swap the switches over to my 2004, will I get auto windows? Do you have remote window roll down?
@@aidanh4550 unfortunately not. There are extra wires and repinning required to get the feature. It is significantly more complex than a switch swap.
HELP raymarine autopilot wheel drive no power at smart pilot computer for motor? No power at the motor + and - ???? Where does the power come from? I'm missing something.
Hola buenas tarde me gustaría saber qué pin es que atenúa o enciende el display en un Mazda 6 2004...
Gorgeous
Where can you buy those Shims ?? Cant find them on net. THANKS IN ADVANCE..
At the time I made this video, they were readily available from Moss Motors and Abingdon spares. I have not looked recently though.
give me your body kit :D
Hot
how much was this unit and where did you get it from
They are sold through Kadex. I got mine used and had to make a repair.
Is it 110V or 220V? I believe the label says 110, at some point in your video, but I'd like to be sure. Thanks!
It is a 110v compressor
I have a st6002 that needs repair. can i send it to you for repair
Was the radio just a plug and play or did you have to do some rewiring?
There was a SIGNIFICANT amount of wiring required for this swap. The radio work required some harness rewiring and some more swapping of parts to match the first gen chassis to the speed equipment.
@@meestahwah looks really Good! Would love to know how you wired everything up. I have a 04 wanting the 06-07 radio set up so I can plug in a aux adapter in the back to get a aux cord. Seems like the only way to get one on the 04’s is to get that sylfex adapter which is discontinued.
The mazda6club forum has all the details you need. I posted to a thread on there to detail how to do it. That's the best place to find the how to.
Sweet controller, dude!
Hello, as i'm want to make my own pi mazda 6 navi, is this standard 7 inches touch lcd display with usb/hdmi ?
I bought it from Adafruit industries out of NY. It has a touch panel attached to the 7" screen Wich connects via USB. The screen has a small control board that has a full sized HDMI connector on it.
@@meestahwah its just fit there without any problems ? i mean in old lcd place?
@@ToTaLoVeR the screen dimensions are the same but the touch screen makes it thicker. Also, you'll need to find a spot for the monitor control board. It is definitely not a quick swap project.
@@meestahwah yeah that no problem, i like DIY, i'm more looking if lcd will fit in factory place, thanks
Good video!! May I have a number or an Email for you I’m about to get me one, need to ask you some questions.
Hey, this is very interesting! Did you ever manage to finish the build? Can you post a follow up video showing how it looks/works now?
I haven't gotten much further than you see here. I have managed to pick up too many projects at once and this one hasnt seen much of my time. I do still plan to work on it and will definitely post an update video when there is something new to show.
@@meestahwah Great! Looking forward to the update video!
Awsome, i have Just got started on my mazda 6 2005, and i have the same navigation unit, think i might try to do the same :)
Great job very clean! The only thing I’d change is get either a Magnaflow or apex’i exhaust and a double din stereo.
I'm interested in more on this working on a rpi setup for my speed6
The company that makes the software is Blue Wave Studio. The software is open auto pro. bluewavestudio.io/index.php/bluewave-shop/openauto-pro-detail
i love the way the new mazda 6 wagons look and it is my dream to put a mazdaspeed 6 drivetrain in one
Hi, I would like integred the ir remote with lirc using raspberry gpio. Could you share me your arduino sketch else I will need decode the protocol with a logic analyser. Best regards. Tony.
@Tony rendina this isn't working via the gpio pins. There is a small arduino type board that is emulating a keyboard. The ir remote info is received and turned into a keyboard press which the manufacturer's software has been designed to interprate.
@@meestahwah Would you mind sharing the code you are using to imulate the keystrokes? This would be perfect for my OAP setup. I am using a sleepypi for controlling the P on/off and it has an arduino built in.
Where did you get these parts? And how much were they?
I got them from a Facebook marketplace group for mazdaspeed 6 parts. I dont recall the prices as I was more focused on a complete project rather than budget.
How about your remote! It can open AND close(!) the windows... if you hold the lock/unlock button, I believe. Nice upgrades to your wagon though... sweet car, man.
Thanks.... In the speed, the function to open and close with the remote is done with the body control module. I have the wire pulled out that sends the signal to the door switch from the body control module to perform the function, but would need an oscilloscope to read what the signal is from a working car. I plan to mess with that at some point but that is for another day.
Is the schematic available somewhere?
I built it from a schematic, but I no longer remember where I found it. It was something I searched for online with a bit of searching.
This is awesome man!! So cool to see how much work you put into it. Such a clean car. Have you ever thought about swapping the engine for the 2.3L MSR?
There is a batch of us wagon guys that DREAM and SCHEME about how we would do it. There is one wagon owner that I know of that has a totaled speed6 that he is beginning the process of figuring it out. It is doable as far as I can assess, however, it would be a full tear down and wiring harness swap on top of mechanical swap. It's rather involved to say the least. What a car it would be though when complete! A mazdaspeed franken wagon!!
wow this looks awesome!! Great job
Very nice, glad you were able to make this happen. My original walkthrough is mostly dead, due to Dropbox changing how public files are shared. I miss my 2006 Mazda6 and her full auto up-down windows more often than I care to admit.
Justin H I'm glad you got to see the video. It was your thread on the 6 club that got me looking into this mod for my 6. I had to figure out how to wire it all because the 04 has dummy windows all around. This made it even more difficult. Your explanation of how you did the rear doors was what allowed me to figure mine out. The hardest part was the under dash wiring to supply 12v constant to all doors: short wires and no room to work! I've only been driving it for a day since completion but I love the full auto. I used the vent feature on all 4 doors and it allowed just the right amount of breeze in the cabin with no flapping!
Looks sweet!
Great job, after watch'n your vid it only took 40 minutes to do the job I replaced the rear bearings, and ended up replacing the sider gears, I guess the next job will be calipers, rotors, and pads, dose it ever stop?
so where do you get gears lower then the optional 4.55 gears.
+spikeafrica The gears come out of an MGA (the next model made by MG after the TF). Years ago there was a fellow in California named Carl Cedarstrnad who figured out how to install the MGA gears in the stock rear axle of a TF. The process is well explained in his publication which is available in a few locations about the web.
Thanks for all the tech help buddy. I have found some stuff on swapping out to other ratios. A 4.30 ratio from the MGA would be perfect for these cars I think.
They make headers for TF's?
+spikeafrica These cars are still actively raced in the vintage circuit here. The headers I have were designed by Manley Ford which he had built for his race car. He sells these headers as part of a side business for race parts he's developed. www.freewebs.com/manley776/
WTF, I didn't know this! and I just spent $300 ceramic coating the stock one 2 years ago. Damn it!
The header takes a bit of fitting to get in the car. It is made for a TD race car and thus is a bit of a tight fit in the snug bonnet of the TF. I rather like it though. It's one of my favorite go fast parts.
Both wheels would not spin because its an open differential. If he would have a limited slip differential with the locker in it then he would get em both to light up.
Give it a little love tap
does both wheels spin when you do a power brake
Ive owned tons of wire wheels and never have had that problem? Send them back to the company
I have a dana 60 in a dodge 2500 van and it only makes noise when I turn but when raised and I manually spin the tires nothing occurs any ideas
thanks for this very clear series I'm sure I can do this if necessary on my mga
thx i needed that. my gears are still in the diff. i hope i can still get them in there without having to take it out.
nice and easy how to thanx
