Sega makes some odd choices, but it's possible it could come back. SA2B was delisted in my area when I wanted to buy it, so I just bought a key from a different region on another site. Some time later (a year or two maybe?) I noticed SA2B had been relisted in my area. No idea why they did it but I imagine there was some sort of legal reason

They might do a definitive collection for more accessible gamers, who knows?

I heard Sonic Origins had save files locked to one character each, so a Sonic playthrough is just one save file; so instead of like what Sonic 3&K or Mania did when it comes to saving. Who at Sega Team is their software engineer and why are they allowed to live? That's why there's the option of Sonic 1 Forever and Sonic 2 Absolute. Why is it that fans with a decompiled Android version of those two games can do a much better job of basic features like Save files?

There's legit no reason for sega to delist classics, is there some weird restriction for steam developers that's having them remove the game??? Also I don't own SXShadow Generations, but it seems like the game does have enough notable differences from the original sonic generations.

And we never got Future again, not even backwards compatibility on One/Series

Luckily I bought JSR 9 months ago so Sega can’t cuck me lol. Also semi off topic, very excited for the new game, though I will admit SEGA probably should have held back revealing all those games because people are saying they look bad. Obviously the in development games that won’t release until 2026-2027 are going to look bad in 2023, that’s just common sense.

That would make anybody mad he tried to be nice and reasonable to buy the Sega games but when he refused to sell them knowing that they ain't doing nothing with them he just resorted to whooping that butt

I swear sega (and especially sonic team) could fart in a jar, not even have the common courtesy to check if its cracked and they'd be praised as saints of the video game industry. They are not, please open your eyes, they are almost, if not just ubisoft with a blue coat of paint. They release incredibly unfinished games and have the nerve to charge upwards of 95 to OVER 100 australian dollars for it. They are willing to charge over $100 for a "remaster" of a game that is over a decade old if nintendo charging 60 to 80 dollars for what barley qualifies as an enhanced port wasn't bad enough) and now, they've delisted all their classic games on steam after they so lovingly did for sonic cd, 1, 2 and 3 to force people to buy the newer and shittier rerelease, which they also (predictably) did for sonic generations.. Oh well, i guess i'll have to look into illegally acquiring the steam keys for crazy taxi, sega bass fishing, sonic cd and the many sega genesis collection games that didn't buy whilst I still had the chance as I no have intention on supporting their anti-consumer business practices :) Bravo Sega!

Apparently they also delisted NiGHTS Into Dreams. The remaster was the absolute best version of that game, and it never got a physical release. Now it’s gone. Fuck you, Sega

To be fair they usually delist games when they’re being rereleased (like with the origins pack and the sonic x shadow gens), maybe that’s the case there

Reminds me why we possibly aren't getting a re-release of Jet Set Future and must be the same for Jet Set Radio. music licenses and how fussy it is to re negotiate for them. Frustrating all the same, especially since they were willing to keep the Steam version and mobile versions up for so long.

Why do game companies do not care about history and preservation?

I have no idea what Sega's strategy was here. They've built up some consideriable goodwill from the fan community over the last few years. This recent move nedlessly undermines said goodwill, especially where they own 95% of these games.

Why all these companies delisting their old games? Meanwhile some companies attacking emulation sites like vimms lair and forcing them to take games down like fuck off let your players play your damn game. Like if you’re delisting your game surely they shouldn’t care about emulation you’d think .

I still own Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on Playstation 3, so i can play... A meager amount of genesis games. And no Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I can play Sonic 3, I can play Sonic and Knuckles, they reference the fact that they were originally meant to be combined, but no Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Lazy. I also have the other collection on PS4 but that one has insane input lag, so fuck that
