I appreciate the difficult water conditions, but you would have gotten more boat speed by concentrating on the timing at the finish and maintaining pressure to the release. These are the reasons why it took you so long to move through the adjacent crew. Little calls like “three on the finish” or “three strokes for length at the back end” will do more to maintain speed than anything else, especially in bad water.

A good last 500m. Good coxing too, other than not predicting the strokes to the line, but nobody is perfect. Good calls for the swing at the beginning of the last 500, and that undoubtedly kept the rhythm as the rate came up. I liked it.
