Then keep watching to see how we used the stock we made in our last Alaska video to make a hearty seafood chowder. It turned out So DELICIOUS! The Florida keys are little tropical worlds where life slows down and everything revolves around the Saltwater and all it has to offer. We hope you enjoy these moments as we share them with with you.

Who Says You Can't Catch Sockeye From a Boat!? And my World Famous Smoked Salmon Dip.
I had a really rough day at work and this helps me get better and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).
Glad we could be a little bright spot in your day. That’s makes all the work worth it when we hear comments like that! We will do our best to keep bringing you more content. Thank you for watching and for subscribing, it makes our day brighter too!
This is so cool. Great video man.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
You mentioned the eagles :). We were drifting for rainbows near Thompson’s hole and passed close by a seagull that was sitting on a sweeper…. It was squawking away but it was making the Eagle squawk! …. a seagull raised by eagles lol
lol. That’s awesome! We never get tired of hearing the eagles and watching them along the river while we are fishing. Thank you for watching!
Looks like yall had fun! Someone deserves a best dressed award.
Thank you! We can't wait to get back. Packing up our Alaska Fish Camp soon though, so we will be warm water fishing again soon. no matter where we are, we love our AVAIL gear though!
Guides and some with boats have had reds hit those kwikfish, so the myth of they do not bite is wrong. A lot will sit there and argue that you only get them by lining/flossing them, so stories of seeing them grab some of my flies that I have tied over the years is all lies, LOL! They will take shrimp, so the times of when bait was allowed when the second run was getting ramped up, I would bet that they like sardine as well. I have caught some just outside of Anchorage here on shrimp scented eggs, krill scented eggs but others will use cooked shrimp or even cured shrimp. But people have caught them on spinners or spoons as well. Them Kenai reds, I have cut some open to see cured eggs, some small fish from small sculpin to small trout in their bellies.
yep, we used to catch them all the time trolling k16 quackish for kings. To be fair though, you can catch your limit quicker "flossing" them from shore, but man sometimes when the sun is out and it's a beautiful day, sitting on the boat is just so much better:-). thank you for watching the channel and thanks for the comment.
Nice fish
Thanks 👍
Love that time of year on the Kenai!
So do we!
You stay at Real Alaskan (Rod's place) don't you? Saw your boat there while visiting friends. Nice video, have always wanted to try that trolling.
Thank you and Yes we do. Say hi next time you’re around and thanks for watching!
Wow! That looks delicious! I am going to try that recipe out for sure!
You won’t be disappointed! Thank you for watching🤟🏻
He was an absolute legend ❤ great video
Yes he was, thank you for watching🤟🏻
What lures do you troll for Reds? Just curious. I live in California.
Maglip. I take trebles off and put single hook on back ring.
Thanks for replying!
Meh
thanks for watching. sorry you're not impressed, I'll try harder next time!:-)
@@SandbarSafaris No, the video and the sound are great. Just not a Buffet fan. Keep 'em coming.
In the words of Eric Cartman “Fuck you jimmy buffet, you suck”
my kid caught one that big at bings 3 or so weeks ago...all the sockeye we caugght that day were between 9-14 lbs.
Yep been hearing the average fish this year was noticeably bigger than normal. Every single big one we catch by trolling is covered with hook marks so they’re breaking people off down river, sometimes more than once too. Thanks for watching🤟🏻
@@SandbarSafaris thats why i use 65lb braid main line and 30-35lb florocarbon leader lol
Looks like skilak lake?
skilak
lol, yeah, that was my first video....I was nervous:-)
Yep! We are voting for Trump!!!!
We’re waiting as fast as we can for Election Day!
if he wins ak he'll get a whole electoral vote o boy
excuse the politics on a fishing video but how is it convicted felons cannot vote but they do get to run for president?? seems azzbackwards to me, kool music btw Jah live Irie!!
@@zschow9259 There are a lot of questions I don't know the answer too, that's one of them! crazy world we live in these days. Thank you for watching our channel, it is truly appreciated!
I think we met you guys, or at least saw you all at camp. We were visiting Rod, Tim, and Pam. Walking past your driftboat we commented on the cool wood panel design! I think there were a bunch of bunnies running around too! Anyway, we had a great trip, caught lots of big Reds this year.
Very cool! That was us! Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it! Say hi next time you come by!
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Maga is trash
Thank you for watching till the end.
The blue water of the Kenai, damn near makes me emotional
Us too!
Really enjoy the videos and jealous of the Pathfinder 2700 open. Curious if you would have done anything different or outfitted the boat any differently today now that you’ve used it several times.
I would have gotten the Minn Kota trolling motor and I would have gotten the live view transducer. There is also nowhere to hang a fender between midship and the bow….so I added a rod holder there and use a “baton” to hang a fender there when needed. Other than that, not much I would have done differently though. I love the boat overall though!
Awesome video MIke!... but I'm curious,... why are you using spinning rods instead of level winds?
Thanks! They are just easier to use for most people and easier when fishing with live bait.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! Keep the videos coming!
We will!
Badass!!
thank you! check out the next one!
sweet boat and set up! whats the draft? how the fuel economy?
I think it drafts 17” if I remember correctly and I can cruise 35-40 mph @ 3800 rpm and burning around a 2.0-2.2 mpg
@@SandbarSafaris thanks for the reply.
How do you like the tower?? Is that top providing any shade? Do you wish you went with a hard top? I’m trying to make the decision myself. Any likes and dislikes would be super helpful buddy. Congrats!
I honestly haven’t used it yet because it is a bit awkward getting in and out. I only have about 30 hrs on it so far and I do have specific reason why I got, searching for weed lines offshore and for shallow fishing in the backcountry, neither of which I have gotten to do so far, so I do expect to use it eventually. As far as shade goes it certainly does not provide as much as a regular top, but I also haven’t really felt like I needed more shade either. I wrestled with the decision for a while myself so I know the struggle, but i can say even though I haven’t used it yet, I haven’t regretted it either. Good luck and congrats on your future new boat!
Great looking boat with a well dressed captain. Congrats!
Thank you! I hear the captain has a pretty nice fillet knife too!
Very cool! Congratulations!
Thank you!
Killer boat and happy birthday!
Thank you
Nice video! Congrats on the new boat!
Thanks!
Sweet video. Makes we want to get down to the Keys! We were there in 2023 and need to go back.
We were there in 2023 too...twice! should be there full time in September. Keep in touch, would love to get ya'll out to the Sandbar next time you're in the area!
Looks delicious! Excellent video.

Thank you.
Beautiful stuff man
Appreciate it!
Love your videos bro I do the same thing d&d adventure tv 🇧🇿
Thank you! I’ll check yours and out too!
Great Video Mike and Jill!
Thanks! 👍
Awesome video man! I’m seriously tossed between a 2700 or the blue wave 28, have you had the opportunity to take the boat in the less favorable swells or days and how does it handle it. Also how is the flare is it a dry running boat?
Yes I have and yes it is a dry ride! It is a rough ride in those conditions though so to be fair it is dry, but mostly because you really can’t go fast like you could a more offshore boat.
Congratulations Mike! Happy Birthday! Your earned it!
Thank you
