Welcome to my channel!
Brand new in 2020, I will start to upload random videos of how-to videos on building stuff that most likely be irrelevant to most but (sometimes) cool finds, mountain biking/ camping adventures, and the life of volunteering in the community.

Bikepacking DIY Front fork storage (no drilling)
I definitely have nothing against Blackburn, but I’m a cheap ass. I wanted something I can put my hydroflask in and a 5L dry bag and toyed around with this idea and here we are! Super functional and Easy to remove if I decide to go back to bare forks. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Camping Utility Trailer with the Smittybilt Overlander RTT XL
มุมมอง 42K4 ปีที่แล้ว
A 4x7 carryon utility trailer turned into a minimal camping trailer that can haul all the gear, plus three mountain bikes. Compact Camping Solutions- Weldless Trailer Rack Roof Top Tent- Smittybilt Overlander XL Tailgate Pad- Dakine Half side Tailgate Pad Car- The cutest little Kia Forte around Song: Beige by Yoke Lore
Love the dog ramp ..... is it a lock together scaffold board ?
Accident waiting to happen.
@@whatthe6532 2 years and about 1000 miles later, still does the job!
What size square tubing did you use?
Great setup
Was that dog ramp built or bought?
How big are the tires you upgraded to? Did you need to flip the axle to get them to fit?
Well I stand corrected. I was thinking how stupid, they have a dog and he cant get up in there.....LOL....well that ramp was well integrated. I love this concept, and it gives me an idea for my 5x10 trailer. I carry my atv with it, and I'm betting I could do this exact set up over the top of the Atv! Long term, how has this worked for you? held up well? would you change anything?
Great job , thank you to share your great idea.
What size tires are these? Great bulit sir
LOVE the dog ramp!! Well done!
Really nice build! I want to make this. Is this hard and what kind of popup rooftop tent did you buy.
This is the Nicest!! Simple Build I have seen so far. Great Job!
Awesome! I’ve been trying to figure out something like this for my bike
I have just bought the same tent and am so excited to go on our first trip! Your video and music is so amazing.. so inspiring ❤️
Do you have a link to that ramp for the dog?
Totally love this video ❤️
Wicked!
Looks good, these are pretty easy and cheap to do. I made one from a 3.5 metre car trailer.
What height did you build it at? We are currently making one and plan to buy the annex
In one of his previous replies he said the tubes are 46 1.2 in tall
Nice build about to do the same. One question on this tent. Does the ladder support the weight of the fold out part of the tent ? If not do you happen to know the wieght limit on the fold out part as in the section that the ladder is mounted to? Thanks
outstanding!!!
Very nice! Looking to do a very similar Build, with the same RTT…
i love the build! came out excellent its making me want to convert my 5x8into an overland. What size beams are those? 3x3 or 2x2?
I just bought the same brackets as him from Compact camping solutions. The square steel beams are 11 gauge 1.5 x 1.5 in
Howdy! Did you make the dog ramp or did you buy it from somewhere?? Trying to find one or make one! Info would be great cheers!
It was the biggest one I could find on Amazon! I think it was $110 but it is nice that it’s aluminum so it’s super lightweight! The tote helps make up the difference on the height making it less steep.
Awesome build and a great job showing how it all came together! I I have the same carry on trailer that came with the same 12 inch tires. What size wheel and tire did you guys go with and how are they holding up? Thanks and God bless!
Great build. I am finishing up my trailer for our Smittybuilt XL. Question, did you get wheel adaptors to fit a bigger rim and tire to the original axel wheel hubs? Happy camping from South Carolina!
I actually didn't have to! it was a 5 lug axle already and just wide enough to fit the bigger wheels and tires! I had actually ordered some spacers just in case but ended up not using them because the fit was perfect!
@@lifeoftristy5673 Nice build. Did you flip the axel to be under the leaf springs to get more clearance?
Awesome build! I think this is a better option than roof mount. I'm sure it's nice to be able to leave camp set up and use the car.
Ballpark cost?
think this is the first time ive actually liked a song someones put on their video.. haha
wow, awesome!!!
bloody nice one
Perfect.
Where'd you get the trailer?
It’s a Carry-on trailer from Lowe’s or tractor supply!
YOU ARE THE MAN!
im doing this setup atm as well, great setup!
I was wondering how your golden was going to get up there. Nice job
How did the dog do with the ladder and getting in to the tent?
We actually had to take the ramp down unless we were planning on going in for the night because she kept running up and dow while she had the zoomies. lol in other words, she loves it.
Hi. Any problems during towing with the trailer being top heavy? I love the idea, what is the maximum space below the tent (trailer deck to crossbars holding tent). I want to do the same to transport a dirt bike below the tent during travel. It would need to be between 52-60 inches to fit the bike. Ideally much higher to accommodate my RTT's annex screen room. What are your thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
The vertical bars are just over 40” and I have no issues at all. I added some extra bolts going through the side and the vertical post to ensure it didn’t sway and it works great and is solid. The tent only weights roughly 150 with all of our gear we leave inside of it. We drove it to Moab from Colorado and there were 60 mph gusts going into Utah and it held up great minus the cheap license plate bracket that broke off lol.
Did you just change your tire to a bigger one? From what size to?
It came with a 14" tire set up which could probably fit on a wheel barrel but I went and picked up some new wheels and tires that were a similar size to my car, that way it would be level for the most part while driving!
What are the dimensions of the trailer?
It’s a 4x7 trailer, I got that one because the tent is 4x6.5 so it covers everything under it almost.
Hi. Nice build. I am in a process of making a build just like yours. Did you buy the whole kit with the square tubes or just corner brackets?
Just the corner brackets, the 1.5” square tubing I bought from a local metal shop!
@@lifeoftristy5673 I am still trying to find out these brackets, is there any special name for it so I can ask at my local harwdare store or find them online? thx! Nice build,
@@mattf00 look up compact camping solutions weld less brackets and they have them on their website
Hi! Nice build! What material do you have on the floor of the trailer?
Treated ply wood and then rubber stall Matt’s on top of that so nothing would slide around. The ply wood makes it easy to screw in fixed boxes and I can move stuff around and you can’t tell where I screwed stuff in before because the rubber mats keep the holes smaller.
I was literally looking for access for my dog and the bam
nice video simple functional clean mi building one right now as well a little bigger so that it can haul dirt bikes. wish i could share pix
Hi nice trailer build! I am in the process of sort of doing the same. May I ask how tall your vertical posts are?
They are 46 and a half inches tall! I measured it after I threw the wheels on to make sure it would fit in the garage door with the tent.
