Kohler maxton sink faucet. Bought new house less than 2 years ago came with 3 of these sinks. We have never had good water flow in them. All other water sources in the house are normal and push plenty of water. There were no other videos to fix this model. Enjoy.

    Fixing to get almost identical Kohler faucets. Glad I saw this so I can pull that regulator when I install them since I have hard water in Florida as well. I'm guessing they sent you the valves because they couldn't fix your issue and wanted to help you so they sent new valves for when yours eventually go. Not a fix but at least they tried to satisfy you

    I followed your directions, and I had earlier replaced aerators, and I made the mistake of turning the water on all the way. The Aerators shot out. I had to re-install the aerator and adjust the set screw so it would not come out and I adjusted the water pressure so flow was the way I wanted it

    I am tree hugger. I conserve water--no lawn, native landscaping, low-water washer, etc. I'm in the top 10 percent in my neighborhood for saving water. No need to call us names. But I like gushing showers! Thanks for the tip about removing the flow restrictor. I'll decide where to save.

    I was away for six months last winter. Upon my return, faucets in two bathrooms had only a trickle of water pressure. There is no aerator to remove. It’s a gooseneck faucet I have been washing my hands in the bathtub since I don’t know what to do. They were new faucets about four years ago. Ideas or suggestions? Thank you.

    LIke so many of the comments below; I was minutes away from taking my faucet off and returning it. Then it hit me; there's gotta be a restrictor plate in there... was just in hopes I didn't have to completely tear the thing apart. Easy fix in the grand scheme of things. 2 Kohlers down 4 more to replace with new. Cheers!

    I wondered why the pressure was so restricted. Even Kohler didn't tell me the real reason, they rather send out new parts but as this video shows , the little white plastic restrictor is the part to be removed. Water pressure is fine now. 👌

    This worked. The allen key was the tricky part of it. I was able to remove the knobs on my since it wasn't one solid piece, therefore I didn't have to turn off the water. I would imagine for one like this it's best to turn off the water valve because you need to have the knobs in the open position to make the allen key part alot easier. Thank you.

    If you don’t those “conservers” that’s great. I think those regulators suck. Like you, I found it frustrating to wash hands and wash dishes. Yup, I removed the regulators and, like magic, the faucets are wonderfully flowing again. Government regulations do more mental harm than good.

    • @dadthefixerflorida
      @dadthefixerflorida ปีที่แล้ว

      I would guess that it’s the water pressure being too strong. Go under the sink and try turning the knobs on hot and cold down, the try and see if the noise goes away. You shouldn’t be getting a noise from removing a restrictor. The whistling must be from higher flow. Let me know if this fixes it.

    Don't blame the tree huggers, blame big business. 80 % of water use west of the rockies? Farms, mostly industrial, much of which is alfalfa, used to feed cows or sold overseas. We're fed a narrative of individual water use restriction when our individual consumption is a tiny percentage of use. So people eat up the smoke and mirrors of you gotta cut your personal water usage and big business just keeps getting richer when they're using most of the water to make money. Tree huggers like water pressure too. I love burgers, nothing wrong with eating yummy dead cow. We need to stop sending our water overseas in the form of products making big business and stockholders rich.

I had plumbers come in and they said everything was working fine. And I stumbled upon your wonderful video. So I'm going to try it tomorrow please wish me luck. This worked! Some time ago I bought one of these faucets for a guest bathroom, not realizing it was purpose-built to be a "water saver" fixture. Immediately I was unhappy with the puny flow. I was all set yesterday to say "to Hell with it" and buy a replacement faucet. It occurred to me though that I might have the same issue with the replacement unit, so I decided to do a little homework first. I found and followed your video, and Voila! Problem solved. Thank you for doing the grunt work and sharing this with us!

    I just installed this faucet NEW and was shocked at how low the flow was. I followed these steps and pulled the flow restriction out to find that I personally think it had too much flow. SO, I drilled a 7/64 hole dead center in the restriction and it’s perfect! Just my two cents. Thank you for making this video! Super helpful.

    • @dadthefixerflorida

      Good idea. Thanks for sharing. I prefer to use the flow knobs under the sink for my pressure control. That’s how I grew up, lots of pressure there, just throttle it down to what you want or need. Your method works well for a shower head or sink that doesn’t have knobs to control the amount of water sent to the faucet.

    • @SkyroofNova72
      @SkyroofNova72 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dadthefixerflorida excellent point to make because I actually tried that first before drilling the hole but the valve generated too much noise when I throttled it back to what I liked. I’m blessed with excellent water pressure so results will definitely vary.

    • @dadthefixerflorida
      @dadthefixerflorida ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha you are not wrong! It got heavy after a while. Not the fault of the holster, just the setup I chose to have it built in. Sidecar rigs are pretty bulky. I wanted to carry with the light/laser combo, but the bulk is more than I wanted in the end. I’m using the no light setup with a standard kydex appendix and a rmr. It is doable to carry as I showed. But in our climate, it’s not my edc.

    • @dadthefixerflorida
      @dadthefixerflorida 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know the model number. The aerator can pull straight down, use a little force. Keep in mind that you will break off some of the fins by removing it that way. I didn’t find any benefits in removing it, other than cleaning it and removing the hard water crusties, ewe! Lol. Now that I know the part that I needed to remove, I wouldn’t take off the aerator.
