Solo Idaho Backcountry Archery Elk Hunt 2024
Here is my 2024 solo backcountry archery bull in Idaho. I was fighting high temps the first weekend, but made it back in following the second weekend. It was still 90 degrees when I left my pickup on Thursday evening however, the only way to be successful was to be in there. I had multiple 6-point bulls on camera throughout the summer in this one drainage and I had hoped one or two would stick around throughout September to hopefully provide me with an opportunity. I was able to work this bull into 32 yards and made a near perfect shot. He ran about 60 yards and fell over dead... I had to quarter up the elk alone. Just as I was wrapping up, one of my buddies made it in to help me start packing meat. A few hours later, my dad and two uncles made it in to give me help packing meat out.

This is my 2023 Idaho rifle elk hunt in about 13 minutes. I was banking on the snow fall to push bulls out of the high country and that didn’t happen.I was told this is one of the better OTC tags in the state… but I could argue that. Or maybe I just went to the wrong spots and didn’t put enough time in down there however I did spend well over 10 days in this zone. I hope you guys enjoy the vide...

DIY public land OTC archery elk season recap. Hers a quick video I threw together from my 2023 archery elk in Idaho. It ended with me shooting a bull at 12 yards frontal. 2023 Chuck Compton Memorial race in St. Maries ID. Pulled the hole shot, ran second for a lap and a half then got swooped by three guys back to back to back. Ran 5th until the GoPro died. After the GoPro died, I caught 4th on the last lap and made a pass one corner before the finish line! I hope you enjoy the video! #dirtbikes #idaho #explore

They are gaiters. They keep the bottoms of your pants dry, which in turn keeps your socks dry. They also protect your boots and keep debris from getting inside.
They’re gaiters. Keep snow, mud, dirt, rocks, grass, sticks… all of it out of your boots!
