This was nice, epic even. Husband was definitely hurting but deciding to walk away from all of it was right. 1 year of marriage? 4 months of being a 304, even more if she wasn't caught. All she'll have now are thoughts of what could have been. No time for her to explain and justify her cheating. Not asking the why and how would mess with her head. Giving cheaters the chance to explain gives them a sense of closure and even shift the blame. "I told him everything honestly and truthfully (not true in most cases) and how its the biggest mistake and regret of my life (to ease her guilt, not to apologize) but he wouldn't understand or believe me or forgive me (go figure) so it's on him whatever happens to us (there's no 'us' witch)."

Story 1: Courtney didn't respect marriage. What I didn't understand was why the second wife wanted to invite her over. Courtney's main problem was a TOTAL disrespect for her spouse.

A woman will never sleep around if she's afraid of losing her husband or boyfriend. When someone cheats on their partner, they have already subconsciously made the decision that their partner is replaceable. That's why you have to end the relationship if this happens. If you don't, you'll be worth even less in her eyes.

This story sucks, because we get zero input about what really happened with Courtney. But it's a great example of why NC sucks so much. 15 years simply obliges both parties to talk a bit. This dude has learned nothing, and wouldn't even read the letter. Denying her closure even in death. After he totally destroyed her.

All relationships have a lifespan. There comes a point usually where you are just kind of tired of each other. That's why marriage is so difficult. It's better to be single and just be free so that, when a relationship is over, you can part on somewhat friendly terms. Marriage involves too much financial entanglement and whenever money is involved it gets hateful real fast. Keep your finances totally separate, don't buy joint property, and then you can part ways easily without the court battle and bitterness.

Story is a gem. Funny and witty. Spun it in a comedic tone rather than the usual heavy and emotionally charged cheating stories. Loved the banter between husband and the 304. Good job on a good story.

In all the world one of the things that has always terrified me the most is the mafia. I grew up in a town where there was a lot of mafia and a lot of the restaurants were mafia owned and operated. I always had a morbid fear of accidentally crossing one of them or irritating one of them. Listening to this story, perhaps I should have found a way to be useful instead. Sounds handy.

Good story. I guess that's one way of dealing with a cheater. Ignoring, avoiding and not giving them any chance to explain and justify what they did. It messes up their head. They're stuck in this cycle of 'how could he just leave', 'he didn't even fight for our marriage', 'he didn't even care to find out why', 'did he even love me or care for me?', 'did he not feel any hurt or pain for what I did?', 'did I even mean anything to him?', and so on. Find your own closure and peace and move on. However, this could only be possible if there's not much loss financially in the divorce. Good job OP.

A little rough, I guess. But ... Happy ending? One thing about the story that is a little unrealistic is for the husband to discover that his wife has a flippant attitude towards infidelity when this far into the marriage. If there is ANY single subject that EVERY engaged couple discusses prior to marriage it's how each of them feels about infidelity.
