Took my Longbow out for a spin with my new Arrows that i fletched myself. Im feeling good about them being it was my first time making arrows. With TH-cams help. They are a 700 spine cut down to my draw length plus 1 inch. They are about 2 inches shorter than my other arrows. So these are light and fast.

@@Jonn1969 for there size. It amazes me how much power they can put out. And nowadays with the prices of everything being high. They were still able to get these out at an affordable price. What do the bolts weigh?
ive been on there sight and have the package that they came in. And i dont see any info on that. And i do not have a gram or grain scale. I tried to weigh on my fishing scale with no luck.
Price point?.
As of the date of video upload Oct 2024 it is $129 US dollars. Its there middle tier version. There Tri Stike is 99 and they have a Pro model for 150.
Can you share info on the handlebar, please? Love it! The bike comes standard with drop bars. Your set up looks way more comfortable
@@dieselboy914 Yes I can. Those Bars are made by Soma the model is the Arc bars. Other manufacturers make similar swept back bars. If you Google bicycle arc bars you'll see options. I went with the Soma purely on looks. Lol. And I'm very happy with them.
Thanks, this was helpful! I stumbled across these last year but couldn’t find any reviews. I have a pair of icebugs I love but many stores are now posting signs for no cleats inside. Also ironically cleats can be slippery on store floors. By chance do you know how these compare to icebugs grip on the ice? Thanks! :)
Icebugs look to have a full set of cleats on there sole. I would think they would work better being that there is more shoe cleat surface area on the ice. The reason i went with these was simple. Im in and out of buildings a bit in the winter and wanted a quick cleat option. Without having to change my shoes or having to stretch over my stableicers. These shoes work well. But i wouldnt say that there better than a dedicated cleat shoe.
I have this and shot hundreds of bolts through it I'm nailing groups at 35 yards only negative I have is the quality of bolts they get warped easily 🪶
What would you consider power wise
@@Jonny_411 hits pretty hard , sometimes bury the 7 inch bolts in archery target and they are still in there lol not ready to destroy it yet
Dude, you skipped over the most important part. I need to see how you got the other end of that bow string on. The leverage from the gun itself doesn't bring the bow back far enough. I need to see how you did it.
With my bow stringer that came with it. The leverage was enough for me to put it on. Ill post a video today on how i do it. At the time of filming i couldnt hold the camera and do the string install together. Ill have to get creative.

Since i dont have that model i am not sure. But i do see a couple holes on the side and on the back. Might there be ajustments in those ? An i see in the pictures there looks to be a button on it. You have me curious now.
I moved my site all the way to the front from the factory setting and have improved a lot
Can you put a crossbow scope on it or a red dot
Yes you can. It has a rail. And the front sight is removable.
Nice looking bike
How do you brake
@@swimmingwithrodrigoelizond1712 With a fixed gear bike. The pedals spin with the wheels. There is no freewheel mechanism. Braking is as simple as applying some back pressure on the pedals as your legs are spinning forward. This slows the bike down. If you have to stop fast. You can lock up the wheels by un weighting the rear wheel an apply extra back pressure and the tire can skid. Almost like a coaster brake. But a bit harder. First time fixed riders I reccomend a front brake. Once your legs are built up to the fixed style of riding. That's when any decision about having or not having brakes should be decided Thank you for asking.
Cheer~~~a harsh, grating noise.😊
I was hoping to see some stops and how you put your feet down. Unfortunately, you ran the first few stop signs and then the screen went dark for a while. I saw how long the video was so I stopped watching. Does anybody know where there are any stops in this video?
@@fernmoss3539 My editing skills still arnt good. Even after 4 years. Depending on your leg length. Stopping is pretty simple to put your feet down. I have a 34 inch inseam so my legs hit the ground easily. As im rolling up to a stop. I take my feet off the pedals and as I'm dropping them to the ground I lean forward towards the handlebars. This way it's like sitting up in a chair as I wait for a light or a car. When I'm lazy my legs are long enough I can stay reclined in the seat. Shorter legs than mine will need to lean forward to get a good foot plant on the ground.
Any reason not going 9/10 speed?
@@FuchsHorst Yes. Box Components at the time of the video was blowing out there groupsets super cheap. They are primarily a BMX and MTB company. There 9 speed groups they only do 50 tooth rear cassettes. As were the 8 speed group they offered it in a 42 rear cassette. I have a box system on my Ritchey Mountain bike and on my Tern 20 inch wheel folding bike. So I'm happy with there shifting quality. I wanted to stay with them.
@@albikes8484 that sounds like a good choice! I didn't know about Box Components just until right now.
@@FuchsHorst They have been around I think 10 years. It's Toby Henderson's component company. He was a famous BMX rider and a pro Downhiller.
Don’t file the brake levers; put heat shrink tubing over them. A couple of layers will round them off nicely.
@@robappleby583 I haven't done it. I'm getting used to them. Way back when cantilever and Ubrakes were popular. You were able to get brake lever grips. Very similar to what you suggest. I've even seen them made of leather.

What about the chainline in the new setup. Does the chain runs well on every sprocket or better on the higher gear sprockets?
@@zoonvantijs4560 It worked out perfect. All gears shift well. I can back pedal in the first gear with out it derailing. Because it's a square taper crankset. If I needed the chainrings in a millimeter or 2 tops. I could always tighten the crank more. Not recommended . but possible. Anymore than that and I'd have to buy a narrower BB. I got lucky. Running very smooth.
@@albikes8484 👌
Is that lacing on the old rims really functional?
@@zoonvantijs4560 Yes. It's something I saw in a magazine back in the 90s. And I tried it back then on a mountain bike. It wasn't great. I decided to revisit it. I'm surprised at how well it works on the single speed. I did have to do a slight truing after a couple rides. Since then it's been stable. Is it something I'd reccomend ? The answer is no. But it looks cool and I had long spokes. So I decided to go for it. I'm happy to say it worked out.
@@albikes8484 At first I thought those spokes were broken, but I understand now it is functional. Never saw anything like it, looks special.

Very sweet bike! Rear fender is classy, gives the bike a nice touch. Does it bother at all not having front fender? Lower headset bearing might not appreciate that, or does it have sealed headset bearings?
@@Pianist203 Its a sealed headset. And all I care about is not getting a steak up my back. I didn't have enough of the same wood to make two fenders. But I can see myself making actual full fenders for front and rear. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@albikes8484Sounds good, I should also go for sealed headset since it got a bit gritty after riding some time without fenders.. 😉 Thanks for the reply.

Cool bike bro! Where did you buy the rear fender?
I made it. I copied it from a Woodys Fenders model called a chop chort. www.woodysfenders.com/category-s/116.htm
@@albikes8484 thank you my friend.
Been riding single speed for a bit this season. I agree with your points! They are harder on hilly terrain, but build leg strength much faster, and are super simple!
most beautiful and unique build on a bike I have seen in a while, curious why you only have one back fender, and do you like the high stem to be more upright?
@@billdavis431 All I need is one fender. I often think about building a front. I'd need fender struts. With out the struts I feel I might hit the fender with my pedaling feet. I can't say I love the look of my tall quil stem. But I do love sitting up higher. Fuji bikes run small for there given size. If I bought one bigger size I might not have meeded that tall quill stem.
I've been shooting since April, so not long at all. There's nothing better than that split second before letting go where you know for a fact you're on target. It doesn't happen as often as I would like, but the frequency is slowly increasing with practice. Keep at it buddy. There's way worse addictions to have. 👍
@@JimD-h8s Thank you. Things I've learned. I prefer 3 under that split. I'm getting better every time I go out. Thank you for the comment.
@@albikes8484 Agreed. I went with three under too. I have a dodgy index finger on my draw hand and pinching the arrow was a problem. I ended up adding brass string knocks both high and low to prevent the arrow from releasing nock high. I'm pretty confident the equipment is dialed. Any misses are entirely on me. I'm getting better at a smooth draw, getting a consistent anchor is still a work in progress. Sometimes I pull it farther than normal and get slapped by either the string or arrow on the way by. If nothing else, it's making me pay a lot more attention to my anchor, release etc.
@@JimD-h8s Amen Brother ! You can get a Higher High Through God & Traditional Archery , then any kind of alcohol or drugs can ever give you ! It's a Great Addiction !
@@JimD-h8s I have a buddy who was a bow tech at a local outdoor center. First thing I did was call him to figure out were I should set the knock point. He told me the measurement. Then said to use making tape as a quick knock point. This way I could dial in what right for me. Once I got somewhat consistent I put a brass knock in its place. And im lucky. No string for arm hits.

Hi!!! I got here researching the State 4130 as a base for a single speed build. Your build and videos are a big inspiration and great source of info!!! I’m thinking a build very much like yours but with a coaster brake. I’ve never ridden a fixie before. But I’m looking for that super clean no-cable look. Coincidentally I’m down in Mass. Done some biking up at Ascutney and 6 gaps. What do you think about a coaster brake build? Am I chickening out?
@@megacase I don't see it as chickening out. Depending on the type of riding you do. And the distances. Coasters are fine. If you do go with a coaster brake. You will need to know how to service them. It's not to diffucult. They have a tendancy to need bearing cone adjustments more often than a standard ball bearing hub. The State rear spacing is 120 millimeter. So you will need to get a coaster in that width. Or get the narrower 110 mm version and use a spacer. And the last thing. You can always swap out the rear wheel for playing with fixed gear. There not as hard to stop as you would think. Thanks for the comment. And have fun with your build.
Got the same one with Dura Ace

When it was stock it came with 700x30 tires and heavier Deep V ish style wheels. I wouldnt say it was super light. But i wouldnt categorize it as heavy either. 24 lbs stock i think.
