Took my Longbow out for a spin with my new Arrows that i fletched myself. Im feeling good about them being it was my first time making arrows. With TH-cams help. They are a 700 spine cut down to my draw length plus 1 inch. They are about 2 inches shorter than my other arrows. So these are light and fast.

    Thanks, this was helpful! I stumbled across these last year but couldn’t find any reviews. I have a pair of icebugs I love but many stores are now posting signs for no cleats inside. Icebugs look to have a full set of cleats on there sole. I would think they would work better being that there is more shoe cleat surface area on the ice. The reason i went with these was simple. Im in and out of buildings a bit in the winter and wanted a quick cleat option. Without having to change my shoes or having to stretch over my stableicers. These shoes work well. But i wouldnt say that there better than a dedicated cleat shoe.

    • @albikes8484
      @albikes8484 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@swimmingwithrodrigoelizond1712 With a fixed gear bike. The pedals spin with the wheels. There is no freewheel mechanism. Braking is as simple as applying some back pressure on the pedals as your legs are spinning forward. This slows the bike down. If you have to stop fast. You can lock up the wheels by un weighting the rear wheel an apply extra back pressure and the tire can skid. Almost like a coaster brake. But a bit harder. First time fixed riders I reccomend a front brake. Once your legs are built up to the fixed style of riding. That's when any decision about having or not having brakes should be decided Thank you for asking.

I have a 34 inch inseam so my legs hit the ground easily. As im rolling up to a stop. I take my feet off the pedals and as I'm dropping them to the ground I lean forward towards the handlebars. This way it's like sitting up in a chair as I wait for a light or a car. When I'm lazy my legs are long enough I can stay reclined in the seat. You will need to know how to service them. It's not to diffucult. They have a tendancy to need bearing cone adjustments more often than a standard ball bearing hub. The State rear spacing is 120 millimeter. So you will need to get a coaster in that width. Or get the narrower 110 mm version and use a spacer. And the last thing. You can always swap out the rear wheel for playing with fixed gear. There not as hard to stop as you would think. Thanks for the comment. And have fun with your build.

    Hi ! Thanks for the video. I'd like to do the same. Do you have a link to share to buy the same headset ? Or maybe juste the references to find it on internet. Thanks a lot !

    How tall/long and what length reach is the technomic quill stem you have?

    • @albikes8484

      Its a 120mm reach with a 225mm quill length. They make it in different reaches and quill lengths.

    how is the weight? is this a very light bike?, Thank you

    • @albikes8484
      @albikes8484 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I never weighed it. But it feels light to me. I did quite a bit of upgrades from stock . Like lighter wheels and tires. Plus i stripped the brakes off. When it was stock it came with 700x30 tires and heavier Deep V ish style wheels. I wouldnt say it was super light. But i wouldnt categorize it as heavy either. 24 lbs stock i think. My upgrades might have it around 20 to 22 lbs. Those are guesses.Not facts. LOL I do know this. It rides light and smooth. I wouldnt say that about stock tires that came on it.

    There isn't much about the Feather on TH-cam. You were definitely an influence on me buying one. I got it last month and I love it. One question I have is what width tires are you running? Mine came stock with 30s but they are cheapo and I want to replace them.

      I am running Continental Ultra Sport 700x25 tires. They come in all sorts of sizes. And there not expensive. I love there ride quality and there durability. I agree. The stock tires arnt the greatest.

    well put! it's so mentally freeing being on a single geared bike. fixed gears have such a nice flow to the ride as well.
