Nice work
Does the sunroof shade move freely with the new material on it?
Yes, I cut the material back from the edges a little bit so it slides freely in the rails.
How’s the p38 getting on bud
What are the solutions you are using for cleaning the leather? awesome vids
Great video. Can you recommend a polishing machine?
Hi Adam, I've got my headliner out and I'm wondering the best way to remove the sunshade? Some say take the glass out and take it out the front, but can you drop the rear end of the complete cassette down and slide the sunshade out the back?
I need one
Maccagno Carlo ALLLLA 2 4 Tonn 😊😅😮😢🎉😂❤ 2:19 2:20
Brill vid thank you
This is super helpful. I’ve got a P38 that now requires a full restoration, and the headliner was the one job I was afraid to tackle.
Adam. I bought some aftermarket rear flaps for my disco 3 from powerful uk website. Worked fine. I just ran new brake lines from rear wheels to front unions on lhd passenger side p38. What a project. Used copper/ nickel and formed it along the way. Seems great. Good luck Adam. Great channel
Great work! You are a brave man parking it out in the mud after putting in so much cleaning. Ha ha.
Can you do mine. I’m in Blackburn. Willing to travel.
Hi Adam, can ypu tell me what you sprayed and brushed on the leather before steaming it. Also, whT you sprayed on the plastics as it looked like a different bottle. Mine has been stood for 18 months so I have a challenge getting the mould and crud off, its the same colour as yours.
Hi Adam, this is not meant to be any kind of criticism, just sharing my experience. I used to take my P38 to a valeting place and they used a steam cleaner on my carpets. A few years later I had a catastrophic BECM failure due to corrosion which was almost certainly caused by steam cleaning over the years because the BECM is located under one of the front seats. It cost £500-600 to be replaced on top of the recovery truck. Just some food for thought.
Just seen outside kendal brewery fancy detailing another? 😅. And keep the badges off
Hi mate. I have a 2.5DSE that im running through sorting out to. I've replaced the headlining myself. It's a bit of a faff but very much worth it. I've just taken both axles off, stripped, and resprayed them. Rebushed, the suspension, including the ball joints and redone all the brake lines, new discs, pads, and callipers and refurbed the wheels. Happy to share any hard won knowledge if I can. I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the P38's had amplifiers for each speaker buried in the doors. Assuming you havemt solved it, yet, that may be the problem as a head unit swap is not that starightforward on these, I don't think, although others may know more than me, as I've not got to that job yet.
Great job. I have to do the same. Thanks.
Nice car
Watched all the P38 videos Adam, really good effort bud, keep it coming mate. Big thumbs up. Regards Moose
Very nice. That car's with the right person! Fortunately there are people around like us revitalising cars normal people just trash.
Heater issue will be the blend motor on that side.
A lotta silly talk there lads..
Look awful
to reset sunroof with roof closed press closed for one second, release, open roof fully, release, press open, release, close roof tilt roof up, release, repeat until sunroof set appears on display
Is that the Bosh motor?
Yes
Wow, she’s looking amazing. Bringing my old one back to life as well out of storage. Quite a project and trying. I gain strength from your patience, calm, demeanor, and reasonability thank you
Adam these videos are fantastic and you've done an incredible job, I've had the P38 Autobiography 4.0 V8 no sat nav model, I'm now on the l322. There's a massive RR audience on here so personally I would like to see Father's L322 being worked on if possible. All the best for the future with the channel
So would I.
Great transformation, so much easier to keep on top of it now the heavy liftings been done 👍🏼
hi i just purchased a p38 (1996) and am curently going through the same things as you did here, cleaning, replacing the headliner and so one, i also have the exact same issue with the AC, driver side is hot and passenger side works, were you able to locate the issue ?
Hi, Issue was the blend motors, I have had all mine replaced with a new set and they work just fine. For you, it might be worth calibrating them with a nanocom to see if that fixes the issue, otherwise I would say yours possible want replacing too.
Where did you get the roof lining from please
Hi, ebay - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324778983072
Looks great with the Hurricanes. I have them on my red HSE.
I have them on my Disco 2!
SHE LOOKS BRILLIANT!! These wheels are the winners. I swapped my triple sports for Mondials but I actually miss my triple sports now. When it’s time for new rubber I might switch back to
Well done Adam. I did exactly the same thing. Moved from Comet to Hurricane. I wanted to match the original press photos of the P38A. Re stereo - I think the Bremen SQR 45 looks great, but doesn't fit - but it has the perfect Retro look. I switched out the bass speakers at the back with a super common brand off Amazon. Lanzar MAXP64 Max Pro 6.5-Inch 600-Watt Small-Enclosure 4-Ohm Subwoofer. Quite cheap. Fit is perfect, no bodgy work arounds. Sound is great and had them in for 3 years. Haven't figured which brand to swap up the front speakers
Brilliant thanks
It's really coming together now Adam I must say your you've got bucket loads of patients especially when you was spraying the steering wheel 👍great job I'm looking for one myself I live in west Somerset I've got a nice 2003 Saab 93 aero convertible it's 21 years old in November very good condition with only 96,000 miles on the clock so well low but I've got a boxer dog and its just not practical I do love the car though I'm in no hurry to get a range rover I've done me homework and I'm nowhere near has good has you doing stuff yourself love the videos looking to the next one cheers Dave
Quality video Adam!
hurricane>commet for sure. I also love the mondiales but I think the Hurricanes are the best of the bunch
Dont mind the older set of wheels to be honest but the new news do look good , I just like the car. Its good to see you tackle the rust now in the spare wheel base rather then just leave it.
Looking good mate
It’s looking well Adam. A bit of hard work and a few quid certainly pays off. And the P38 is increasing in value.
Hope your well Adam mate it’s Lewis D from school
For that car, with that interior, a black headliner would be sacrilege
Great vid bud always nice to see a fellow P38 content creator 😊
Bro that end result, fml. That bitch is baaaaaaaad I said to myself! Shout out from the States, need to get off my ass and get my P38 done, but mine is Epsom Green.
I think the black works here cuz of the black headlines, but I do love the wood too. Love the videos, keep em coming, p38 looking amazing
I would recommend you use a lambs wool pad and cutting compound 1st up, than switch to foam polishing pads and polishing compound, but regardless it come up good
hi Adam been looking for a decent p38 myself I'm in no hurry better safe than sorry you've certainly got patients in a abundance really enjoy your videos cheers
Looks fantastic Adam. Your video are great thank you. Regards your hvac, I've just replaced my passenger side blend motor, you can get to it if you remove the glovebox and airbag.
looks terrific for an old P38 damn nice job Adam! One small question , the rear muffler boxes look to be hanging very low..... are they original? they may ground out if you go up a steep incline. I had a 2001 4.6 HSE P38 20 years ago and I only saw the small rear tips of the pipes at the back not the entire mufflers.... are these rear mufflers aftermarket ?
They have been replaced at some point, but they’ are still factory spec mufflers
Definitely not factory spec, they are just a cheap aftermarket make. I’ve seen a lot of these on P38s for sale, the tail boxes should not hang anywhere near this low to the ground.
Nearside probably worse for scratches because of hitting hedges on country lanes. Didn’t you say you got it from someone local?
Good answer, yes they were roughly 1 hour away from me.
