I recently added varispeed control on my Yamaha MT-50 4-Track cassette recorder which allows me to have a wide range of control of the tape speed.

Boss DR-110 triggering a Behringer Cat

I recently purchased a Boss DR-110 and made this quick beat with it. I figure out that I could use the “Acc trig out” port to trigger the gate input of the Behringer Cat. It gives me an extra note which used for a bass part and Tom fills on the second oscillator.

I recorded this track with a Realistic MG-1 for bass, Korg MS2000B for the pad and random sounds, and Korg Electribe 2 for the drums. Roland RE-201 space echo for ambience.

Thank you very much! The filter is a passive high pass filter made by Westfinga. It’s a recreation of the Altec 9069

Thanks! Yeah, I sent the snare and also some drum machine parts to the reverb via mixer effect send/return channel. The mixer is a Teac 5.

This is really cool, how did you add the varispeed if you don't mind me asking? I'd love to try something similar with my tape deck.
Thank you! I modified my 4-track with a little pulse modulation device I found online for very cheap. You have to swap the motor control circuit board on your 4-track for the pulse modulator. Just a little soldering. I removed the punch I/o pot on the 4-track to create a space for the varispeed control. Here is a link to the part a.co/d/1BQHYE6
