The ride around the airport has really improved since I filmed this. Time for another video!
Is that a masjid?
No It is a lighthouse on a cliff
@@bikenbeers Copy. Thanks
Lovely video!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hogging a whole lane. Hope you paid your road tax, as youll be the 1st to sue when you hit a pot hole 🕳️
Are you doing the speed limit? And where’s your speedo, new laws say that you have to be going the right speed now
Ha Ha. It might look like we were going fast but we were at least 15 kph Under the speed limit. Cheers
Cutties
Spooky
Like the ride. I have a friend in Coffs who’d like to do this ride. Could you please post a Strava link to the ride or Strava course? Thx
Sorry for the delay in replying, Ive been traveling. Attached is the strava link to the ride I did around Coffs Creek. it's pretty well signposted so should be easy to follow even without this strava link - www.strava.com/activities/8132853899
What an extraordinary time it was. I've lived in (Western) Sydney all of my life and I have never seen the city like this. I couldn't travel into the city at this time, but it's amazing to see it through your eyes. I'm quite certain we will never see Sydney like this again any time soon. It would have been so cool to just ride around the city and be so safe from traffic and people!
Thanks for the comment, sorry for the delay in replying, I'm travelling atm. Yes it really was a strange time and I was lucky enough to live close enough to the city to get out and ride around deserted streets. Sydney really is a wonderful city.
is it just me or that room feeling kibda backrooms
What kind of ebike is that?
It’s not an e-bike. It’s a Recumbent Bike. Just a different way of enjoying cycling.
@Bikenbeers are you riding a recumbent ?
@@dylannelson5836no I’m riding a road bike. I just filmed the guy riding the recumbent bike as i thought it looked pretty cool
Can you please tell me how or where you have the insta360 camera mounted in this video. Thanks.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I had the 360 Camera mounted directly on my handlebars. That way I could shoot forward and also back at me.
Great video! Very nice trip. Cool bike setup. New follower here. Crow✌️
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed the video. There are plenty more similar videos on my channel if you get a chance to watch them. I'll be posting more in the coming months as I'm off traveling again. Cheers.
Hey, great video! Just rode from Stockton via the ferry to Queens Wharf to Belmont today. First time on the Fernleigh Track. I'm hooked. Took me around an hour from Queen's Wharf. What a cool track. What camera are you using? I used a cheap 5k action cam and not the best footage. GoPro or similar is probably worth the investment.
Thanks for the comment. I discovered the Fernleigh Track by accident a few years ago and now every time I go up to Newcastle I always make sure I ride along this track. Such a pleasant and varied ride. For this video, I used my GoPro mounted on my handlebars. I think it was a GoPro 3+ or maybe even a GoPro 7, but definitely a GoPro.
@@bikenbeers No worries at all. Thanks for the info regarding your camera. See you on the Fernleigh one day!
Precioso
Haha I love this segment
Yes, we always have fun with a final hill challenge out of the park at the end of our rides around Centennial Park.
I love living in coffs
And it’s a great place to visit
Is that at Coffs jetty?
Yep
Sure is. Well spotted
This ride took me back to the reason I took up cycling some 20 years ago. The simple joy of riding along trails in the natural beauty that is Australian bushland. I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as I enjoyed the ride.
solsbury hill, peter gabriel
Great ride and good effort up to the top. What were you riding at the time?
Thanks for the comment. I was riding my Focus Cayo road bike at the time, standard crankset and 11-28 cassette. It's a tough climb but well worth it as the view from the top is quite special. Cheers.
Yeah you don’t have to be so rude
Apologies if I offended you. I contemplated taking the expletive out of the audio but I just wanted to portray the raw emotion of being chased by a dog while on a bike. Thanks for your comment.
@@bikenbeers nah I was mostly joking you didn't offend me at all, ig it probably was the dog chasing, it kinda just seemed like he was running with you y'know?
@@travispierce2918 you are probably right, but he wasn't my dog so I wasn't taking any chances. thanks for replying.
@@bikenbeers no problem man!
I think it was just stretching it's legs.
Seems that way in hindsight but still a bit of a fright seeing something black running past out of the corner of my eye.
Looks flat indeed (except for that 15% up to Anzac Hill)...what speeds were you averaging?
I just looked back at Strava for these rides and I was averaging around 25 kph but with a max speed of only 35 kph. Then again I was stopping quite a bit for photo's and to enjoy the unique surroundings. I might never ride there again so I wanted lot's of photo's and videos to remember the experience.
What a great video. Well done, looks like an amazing place to ride
Thanks. It was a great ride out to and around Uluru. I also did a video of my rides in Kings Canyon and in Alice Springs, both in the NT and on the same trip. You can find them on my YT channel if you are interested. Cheers.
@@bikenbeers thanks, I'll check your other videos out soon
Great video, i've timelapsed the sydney to gong every year for almost 10 years. This year i'll be trying with the 360 X2. Thanks for showing it's possible!
Good luck with the Gong ride. I’ve done it a few times

Great video mate I've just started recording vidoes and made a channel on youtube as well riding in Sydney my videos are not as good as yours tho and I have been thinking about getting the insta 360 x3 seems like it's great to use for riding and u can get some cool footage with the 360 cameras. This video looked great what speed was the Hyperlapse mate ? any tips on first editing the videos with insta 360 if I get one. I'll subscribe and watch some more of your videos 😀
Thanks for the comment. I filmed this on the Insta360 ONE X2 and then reframed it in the desktop version of Insta360 Studio. The hyperlapse is 8x normal speed which you can do in the editing software of Insta360 Studio. I do think the 360 cameras give you lots of scope to choose different perspectives whilst editing. There are lots of youtube videos on how to edit. You can check out my video th-cam.com/video/k4ib97EDXSY/w-d-xo.html for more ways of using the Insta360 camera whilst cycling and in the description of this video, I have several links to editing videos. Hope this helps.
Nice one buddy 👍🙏
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Very nice
thanks
like how 360 cameras records everything around the subject
Yes it is a pretty interesting way to film bike rides as you can get lots of different perspectives from just the one bit of filming.
👍
Thank you
What settings for bright sunlight?
I just use the standard settings on the Insta360 ONE X2 camera for video and i don't change anything when i edit so it's just all natural. Seems to work for me and the sunlight is pretty bright in Australia.
Great.
Thank you.
Beautiful.
Thank you. I'm happy you enjoyed the video. Cheers
Which handle bar mount did you use? Does it work with aero bars? Thanks and great reel!👍🏼
I used a 360 degree "Go Pro" cycling handlebar mount (like - www.ebay.com.au/itm/165020894465?chn=ps&_ul=AU&mkevt=1&mkcid=28). I had an adapter which I screwed into the Insta 360 camera and then fixed the camera to the handlebar mount. For much of the footage, I had the Insta 360 Camera mounted on the Insta 360 selfie stick and held it in my hand while I was riding. That way I could get the out-front and side-on videos. Hope this helps. thanks for watching.
I really enjoyed that ride and seeing the sites that we visited many years ago. Thankyou
That's good to hear. Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Some great shots! Looks good dad
Thanks Tom
Good to get different camera angles while riding - makes for a more enjoyable viewing experience!
What I like about the Insta360 camera footage is that you can multiple video's from the single raw footage. Just reframe them differently in the Insta360 Studio. Cheers.
@@bikenbeers that's interesting, might need to look into it. I have a so-so action camera and a gimbal which I attach to my bike to film my rides, but this sounds good
@@ridinginryde Good luck. I'm pretty happy with my Insta360 One X2 and I got it at a good price.
Wow, good job! seems that the Insta 360 is doing also a good job, what would you say, is it worth investing?
What I like about the Insta360 One X2 is that you can take just one shot (photo or video) and create multiple images/videos from that one shot. Also I got my Insta360 One X2 on sale, so I’m pretty happy with it.
Great videos thanks used in lockdown on my Exercise bike and watching still then now exercising , you doings anymore full ride videos thanks again
Thank you. The "Bondi to La Perouse" video on my channel is a full-length video (about 43 min long) and the "Cycling in Italy - Tuscany Downhill" is also a full-length but shorter video (16min long). Try those. Cheers.
Very cool city, and with the lockdown, what better time to cycle :)
It is a cool city and lockdown provided an opportunity to ride around and enjoy the sights with fewer cars and people.
Nice town nice ride, Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching. Sydney is always a nice city and best to ride around when there is less people and traffic. Cheers.
Looks like a cool ride. At least it's easier to ride on the shared paths with very few pedestrians around
Early morning, on a Sunday and in Lockdown, definitely not many people and even better, hardly any cars. Cheers.
That tunnel's amazing
Sure is. It’s only short but one of the highlights of the Fernleigh Track.
Top bluebird day to be out riding, nice route too, the cycle paths make it easier and easier to ride south:)
Thanks. Yes the cycle path around the airport avoids the traffic in the airport tunnel. And the cycle path around Taren Point is just much more scenic than the road. Cheers
