It's very common to find rebar bent to tie it to another piece With that said then you shouldnt do it to begin with yet we use wire to tie rebar together and yet thats acceptable. its buried inside of concrete to HELP concrete become stronger, not the other way around so straightened rebar is accectable

As a Ghanaian people here don't tie it shut. We just put it down. If you put it up right the water won't pour out. You can leave it for days. The only thing is that it might be hard to carry with you as you're travelling. Watched the video again and I just noticed the lady demonstrating how to drink it pulled off a really huge chunk. If you do it that big it will probably be harder to keep the water in. The way most people do it the hole shouldn't be larger than your fingernail.

These look awful to deal with and I looked at the price of them now and they’re like $10,000-20,000 just for the furnace alone not including all the plumbing that has to be buried in the ground sucking thermal energy from you system and who want to load go out and load them in rain or snow?

Every convenience that you add like having tree length or 8ft delivered, or having 16" chunks, or seasoned etc etc... all add to the cost. Then the boiler ends up rotting internally, unless you start with a premium ($) made one. I dont see too many of them out here rurally these days... people switch to gas heat. @@cutchdoggw1776 ya know that sounds all good but tree service companies are hit n' miss. They're not going to drive out in the boonies to drop you off some wood unless they happen to be in the neighborhood. Couple that with 95% of what they drop off is green wet wood that still needs to be processed, sortred, cut in biscuits, stacked and allowed to dry a minimum of a year ..if not 2. I speak from experience and when you heat with wood, regardless of the system (boilers vs stoves, etc.) you're in the wood handling business in a big way. Its not 'like' having another job.. it IS another job.. and so this notion that its like easy "free" heat is big fat fantasy. There is a significant outlay of cash up front needed in the cost of the boiler/stove, chain saws, truck and or maybe a tractor with a bucket, etc. You're gonna earn every btu of heat you get out of that wood. And maybe when you're young its no big deal but I can tell you the novelty wears off after a decade or two. You're gonna want to do other things than bunk your wood for winter in the summer like going fishing or building an addition on the house or whatever. I guess I'm over it. Like that old blues song B.B. King sang - 'The Thrill is Gone'! Haha.. take care. And may God give you a big pile of wood for next winter! 😉👍
