    Brief and straight to the point. A interesting thing to note with the 1st two demonstrations; is that when leading with your hip, you had to release at least one point of contact. Whether that was the trailing foot in the 1st or the hand in the 2nd. Sometimes you just hand to release from one point to establish the next.

    I suffered climber elbow almost 2 years trying different porcedures. The key are excentric excercises. The weight should be constantly increased as long as it doesnt agrravate the tendon. I'm finally pain free reaching 15kg dumbell for 8-10 reps. 3kg dumbells are good for warmup or really early rehab. Such light weights are usless long term. 100 reps with 2kg dumbell doesnt prepere tendon to single hard moves on boulders.

Didn't wanted to give up on climbing hence kept pushing through it but pain increased. I have took a week off and now I will suerly incorporate these exercise and then return back to climbing. In my case i have this pain running through biceps at times as well. Is it related to tennis elbow or some other issue? Thanks for the video 🙌♥️

    • @BoulderLab
      @BoulderLab 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could be that your climbing technique needs tweeking. These pains are sometimes the result of poor footwork for example. So I'd most prob hire a coach to have a look at you in the gym. Also, don't underestimate the pros of a visit to a physio, could be that the bicep pain is a result of tighteness in other muscles. That's just very general advice, but hope it helps!

    • @BoulderLab

      @@LFSJack Something which really helped me (I also had reoccuring tennis elbow), was asking one of the other coaches at the gym to look at how I climb. I then made tweaks in how I used my feet and interestingly enough changed my wrist position on crimps. I felt like that helped me to kick the injury in the long run.

    It's a pleasure to find your channel. We were neighbours at those apartments in Kalymnos, spring 2022! I came here looking for tips on a kind of mantel problem that I have on a vertical outdoor climb in Thailand. So I have both hands on a crimpy mantel ledge. Then I need to get my right foot high, but I'm kind of compressed here struggling to keep my hip in. I then need to pinch a small undercling with my right hand, but it's out of reach. Now, I've managed to make the move once but I'm struggling to do it again. Somehow I transferred weight onto my right foot, stood up a bit, converted my left hand crimp to a mantel, and then had the height to reach the small undercling with my right hand. I hope you can picture the problem somewhat. Do you have a video covering something like this? I will experiment with the hanging left leg and sitting on the right leg, just like in this video for now.

    • @BoulderLab
      @BoulderLab 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Stephen!! Yeah I remember always intruding upon your breakfast 😆 Amazing to hear from you in the roundabout way which is youtube! Getting into underclimgs off a mantle can be hard , but good job getting some height on that right foot. Funnily enough we just shot another episode on mantleing. It's in post production at the mo, but we hope to get it out by the end of the month. Also, I would say that taller climbers sometimes have it harder to get those hips into the wall...so maybe some hip mobility would be a good idea.
