The return of Friday Night Shinny. Definitely not my best outing but there's always next Friday. I tried using the Kohos the previous week, but I was late and didn't have time to setup the cameras. Back to the G6's this week where I just didn't have it that night.
Dream Goalie Set - Using Koho Revolution on the ice for the first time!

It was so much fun using my dream set on ice for the first time! It felt so strange to wear, having never worn gear pre 2000's. The gloves felt great and the set looks amazing altogether. The ice was really bad (snow in the crease was blue!) and it got increasingly more difficult as the game went on to move around in these. I look forward to using them again the future with better ice.

It finally happened! I picked up an old set of Koho 550 Revolution Pro's in Potvin graphics and I couldn't be more excited! I plan on using them at my next shinny so stay tuned! Summer Shinny - Goalie GoPro Net Cam View

Decided to try out the GoPro inside the net for a different perspective. Unfortunately I didn't get the angle right so it was facing up a bit, and a few instances where the camera shifted around. Nevertheless, it's a cool perspective to see footwork.

Another summer fill-in session where I think I got scored on in every which way possible. After a good number of skates, the GoPro finally takes a shot and gets knocked off. Thankfully, the camera appears to be okay and only broke the mounting clip. So the rest of the video there's no helmet cam footage.

Saturday morning pickup and the other goalie didn't show! Otherwise it would've been a pretty decent skate. I took a shot off the mask in warmups and the camera fell forward, which lead to a really cool angle that would be fun to use for short clips! Turn on captions for my narrating

Turn captions on for (sorta) commentary. Last Friday night shinny of the season. It was fun recording these and seeing all the areas to improve upon but also areas I'm doing okay in too. Wes turning 4 marked the end of the toddler stages it seemed :( But marked the beginning of the kid stage. These last two years with him has been the most fun without a doubt. Can't wait for 6 and up!

I have a bad habit going for the paddle save too early. My pushes to the blocker side are weaker than to the glove side because of this lol. Plenty of times I could have made it across but instead I whiff with the paddle.
U have to play standup with these

What an awesome set. I started playing in older gear like that. Wish I could say it was the Potvin Koho gear but it wasn't. Every time I have upgraded my gear I remember how much lighter everything feels. Especially the pads. I think its great that you have fixed up this old gear and I would imagine it will be fun to play in that gear once in a while. Probably could play in the blocker and the glove more often than the pads. Are you going to use this vintage gear more often or are you going to just save it special games ?
As tiring as it was, I had a blast using this set and will definitely try it out again on the odd occasion!
Just wear player shin knee guards under .That will protect your outer leg I'm sure.
interesting idea, never thought of that! Might interfere with the knee pads though. I wore them yesterday at a shinny and luckily no shots hit me there :D

Looks a lot like my pickup game last night. Some highs, but plenty more lows lol. Blaming some of them on the gear though, pad combo is from 2015 and was entry level then, so they're showing a lot of age now.
When all else fails, blame the gear and get new ones -- it's what I do =D
