@CarolandDave hi. Well you say don't take offence but you are literally saying I shouldn't buy things because you cant afford to. I'm sorry you can't afford to buy some things but that's no reason why I shouldn't. Sorry I don't mean to be rude I'm just saying that's not really how we should live. You only get one life and if I am happy spending on Christmas then who is anyone to say I shouldn't because others might not be able to afford it? Ita a few pounds that's all I spent on this lot. Each item was about £1. Apart from the Christmas tree. Wasn't that long ago me and Oscar were scraping by with the help of family hand outs and food banks. So now we can live a better life we do. I don't need to explain myself but sat here clearly thinking I should at almost 4am. I personally don't drink or smoke or go out I don't have my nails done I rarely have my hair cut maybe once or twice a year. I don't wear make up or perfumes and I have no hobbies that I spend on. Don't even play bingo anymore since having Oscar which I used to love doing. Like I say we haven't long been in a better position financially. And life is for living is it not? And again not that I need to explain myself but I've always loved Christmas and I make a bigger deal of it the last few years as my nanny died on Christmas day when Oscar was just one years old. And she loved Christmas too. It takes away the sadness and enables me to enjoy the season and the sadness whilst there is kept under a load of tinsel. Just how my nanny would have liked it she loved Christmas and went all out when she was more able to. Her house was like Santa's grotto and it made us all smile and I want my child to smile like that too and he loves Christmas also. Doesn't like Halloween except a day trip to butlins where he tolerates it to see his beloved skyline gang so we make a big deal of Christmas a bit earlier than some. I'm sorry my little bit of Christmas shopping offended you but I have to start early to spread the cost. And I did take offence to that comment as we as human beings don't really have the right to suggest one person shouldn't spend because another person might not be able to afford it. I want to make memories with my son and that's what I'm going to do. He has many challenges daily and if a bit of tinsel takes away his worries for a bit then I'm all for it. And I'm sorry that offends you. And I'm sorry for the long explanation I shouldn't really have felt the need to do that. Nobody should try and make you feel guilty for enjoying the season. Maybe don't watch in future as especially this week I've bought a lot of stuff stocking up on things. I don't want to offend anybody but at the same time I shouldn't have to explain my actions for buying a few bits of tinsel and some lights. Again I'm sorry it triggered you. X

@justjaney7 hi jane! Thank you! Lodl is close to Oscars school so it makes sense for me to go there when I need bits but I do like their variety just not their fruit and veg I do buy it but it doesn't last long lol! We also go in the little shop each morning when we have time depends on the buses. It's Oscars routine to look at the football cards and I check for yellow stickers. It's something we have done since he started that school. I'm always needing something but I do shop twice a week minimum as we go through the fruit like nobody's business lol! @amiz1823 yes on a lot of things. Mars bars in particular along with the other chocolates they have shrunk in size so much they are now what we would have had as snack size when I was younger. But the price is almost £2 full price! X

@SkylineGangFan1 lol! Oscar isn't keen on Halloween stuff so we start with Christmas stuff now and on Halloween week when he's off school we will be putting up the tree and having Christmas movies and no Halloween he only likes butlins Halloween for the day x

@KhrystynaBraverman I always heard it wasn't good as it can spike blood sugars. Some have added sugars in them but I guess raw honey would be OK? Every year my dad gets me honey from the beekeeper close to the heritage railway he volunteers at and it's beautiful but I avoided it this year as heard is wasn't good lol. This diabetes thing is so difficult one person says yes eat that another person says no don't. I'm just eating as normal but smaller portions of carbs and higher of protein where I can x

@KhrystynaBraverman oh I didn't know it helped with weight loss. That's good then. I try not to add sugar to anything now. Tea is plain and coffee I have no added sugar syrups for the flavour. X
