Can you suggest how to palpate mu front points at the back
Sorry! I'm not sure I completely understand the question. The only Front Mu point on the back is GB25. If this is the point you are asking about, I go through this in my Anatomical Palpation Mastery for Acupuncturists course. The rest of the Front Mu points are generally located on the front of the body. Let me know if this is your question. Thanks very much for watching!
How deep should you go when attempting auricular acupuncture? Is it okay for the needles to go through the cartilage?
This is a great question! I could go on for a while with this one but I will try to be brief. For those new to needling the ear, it can be easy to pierce through the cartilage in thinner areas. It is not a huge deal if this happens (they person won't even know) BUT...one must be VERY careful that they do not have their own fingers placed behind where the needle direction is going as this could result in a needle stick injury. Never have your fingers on the opposite sides of the ear in the direction that you are about to needle. This important note aside - when finished with insertion, the needle should be rigid and firm - not loose and wobbly. Needles in the lobe are an exception to this as getting a rigid needle in this area of the ear is not likely. I hope this helps!

When thinking about acupuncture point selection for any issue - a proper TCM diagnosis is needed. Once you have your diagnosis, you can then start thinking about points. However, given the small amount of info you provided, these issues are sometimes connected to Kidney Essence deficiencies. Look for points which promote Essence (Kidney meridian and Back Shu of Kidney). Points on the REN channel should also be considered. I hope this gets you started! Thanks for watching.
Wow this is the best..... I love it

Do you practice single point Accupunture or multi needling?
Thanks for the question! I usually have multiple needles in my acupuncture point prescription. Typically 6-8 needles bilaterally. For pain management, this number would easily increase depending on what you are treating. I hope this helps!
Quite interesting. God bless you.

@@bushpoutros5673 Glad you liked it! A very difficult area for a lot of my students. Thanks for watching!
I have a question. I went to an acupuncturist for 3 sessions over 3 weeks to help with my anxiety. Unfortunately a few days after my last appointment I became very dizzy and ever since have suffered with light headedness, brain fog, tingling in my right arm and leg, foot drop on my right leg, and extreme fatigue. It has been this way for approximately 4 months and doesn't seem to be improving much. Could this have been caused by the acupuncture sessions? Never had any issues with my nerves before this and it came on very suddenly just a few days following my appointment.
I'm sorry to hear about your uncomfortable symptoms. Obviously, it is very hard for me to comment on this. However, I would suggest that you inform your acupuncturist about the symptoms you have had since your last appointment...even if it has been a while since you last saw them. In the meantime, I hope you have consulted with a family physician about these symptoms. Additional testing may provide more insight and potential treatment to help. Wishing you all the best with this!
Thank you
My pleasure! I hope it was helpful. 😀
Thank you so much. I'd love to know how deep to needle SP6...
@@FolkCinema27 Glad you liked the video! As far as needle depth for SP6, traditionally, it is 1-1.5cun. However, this is somewhat dependent on the size of the individual getting needled. Someone small may not require that depth, for example. For me, the most important thing is the sensation they get when needled. If needle sensation is what I’m looking for, but I’m not quite to traditional depth, I’m okay with that. It’s also worth noting SP6 is contraindicated in pregnancy. Hope this helps put some perspective on needle depth!
@acupuncturemasterclass thank you so much

Beautiful, sir cv17 is Lil risky point do u think if we will needle with this teqnic we won't hurt lungs?
When needling CV17 (REN17), the only real option you have is to needle subcutaneously (superficially). Even though the sternum is there to protect the lungs, needling subcutaneously is still important as some people will have sternal foramen (holes in their sternum) and needles could go through these foramen if needling perpendicularly! Due to the actions of this point, I usually needle it inferiorly to enhance the "downward" function of this point (for coughing, acid relfux etc.). I hope this helps!
@@acupuncturemasterclass greatful in india PPL says we may puncture lungs so we should puncture upto Cowley, tnx

So glad you found it helpful! Thanks again for watching!
If thses accessories not available how can I practice needling. And you are inserting the needle is very long inside live skin if I do like this patient may feel pain and complaint on me.😮
Thanks very much for watching! You can practice needling on a number of accessible items - an orange is very common, for example. In regards to needling on a real person and causing pain - this is something that will happen from time to time. It is up to you as a practitioner to inform your patients what they may feel during the needling process. Once you have been needled yourself in acupuncture school, you will soon realize that some points are more sensitive than others. You need to tell your patients when these more sensitive needles are coming and what sensations they may expect. The more they know to expect a stronger needle, the less uncomfortable it will be. I hope this helps!
Very nice explained .

Dear Sir Drew Nesbitt A few weeks ago I sent you an email via the website, but perhaps it escaped your attention or you are enjoying a well-deserved holiday. I'm Paul from Roermond, the Netherlands. I study TCM and have now completed the first year of theory. I will now continue with acupuncture. Do you have an online course for learning the locations of the acupuncture points/meridians? Or do you perhaps have another course that fits in with this? Thank you kindly, Paul
Paul, many apologies for the missed email. Thank you for reaching out again! The closest course I have in development for your needs is my Anatomical Palpation Mastery for Acupuncturists. It is in the editing phase right now so it is not quite ready. It covers over 100 acupuncture points but more specifically, it helps students become better at recognizing anatomical landmarks related to acupuncture point location. It does not go through each TCM channel but rather, it covers specific anatomical locations (scalp, chest, back, knee etc.). It may be a valuable course for you after you have some experience with some beginner acupuncture point location. I still suggest signing up to my newsletter (if you haven't already) to be informed as soon as the course is ready! In the mean time, check out all my free TH-cam videos - some may be very helpful for you before you get into your first acupuncture practical. I hope this was helpful, Paul and all the best with your TCM education!
@@acupuncturemasterclass I forgot to thank you for your answer, when does this course start? (I saw on your website that it will start this fall). Thanks!
