I’d like to think, after the Vortigaunts were freed from the control of the Nihilanth (probably butchered that) and Eli teaching them human language, that there would have been a shared bond, almost, between them and humanity over both of their positions as victims in this situation. Perhaps for a few months, we could have had hope in these dark times with our new extraterrestrial compatriots. But I presume the Combine would see them as just another element of Xen infestation and cull them just the same.

This is a really cool and detailed take on the game's story. I like that the HECU are not just randomly gunning down scientists and workers. Never understood why they did that in the game.

While watching it I noticed the inscription of the barrel of that Abrams at 45:15 is a bit of a nod to War of the Worlds, since that's the name of the name of the only ironclad in the book able to successfully destroy an alien fighting machine. Amazing Attention to detail!

I could somewhat say that this is not the entire actual lore, mostly self implied. But it surely is a ok imagination of what could've taken place. Nice screenshots though!

You know, while I do love fighting two conflicting different factions in Half-Life, having the military as your allies would have been awesome. I could imagine the HECU showing up, cocky at getting the the chance to kill aliens, while annoyed at having to rescue and babysit scientist, including Freeman. Only for the situation to prove much worse than anticipated, suffering casualties, with many NPC's dropping like flies around Freeman, who survives thanks to his HEV suit. Over the course of the operation, they come to respect Freeman who manages to hold his own, and fight alongside them, even offering to escort him to his objective, recognising he and the other scientist are the best hope of stopping the invasion.

This is such a fun listen for a nerd like me, I love how well-built his version of the Half-Life world is, and all the little details work out. I love how the government and the military reacts to the events of Black Mesa, how HECU and the Marines are doing their best to save people's lives (the first screenshot from The Conflict Intensifies is awesome), and how the rest of the world asks uncomfortable questions as things go on, like the unannounced rocket launch. It's purely a me thing, but there was hope in my heart that things might've gone better in the end, that the Lambda Team, Freeman and his own Combat Team, in Xen, in their last moments, would've be able to reverse the Cascade and prevent the Portal Storms and the Combine arriving. I know it's Half Life, but damn, your narrative really made me hope, lol. Love your world and your work, mang.

This is so good. Make more please, also from perspectives from other countries, like Russia, or countries in Europe. I love the images you created and the websites, adds so much realism and weight. It's like looking into another timeline where this actually happened. And when the Combine fully invades a crippled earth

I never understood why the government was so desperate of a alien cover-up on the first place, why the need to eliminate every witness including their own, why the need to massacre the corporation that was subsidiary of them on the first place? I always assumed G-Man manipulated everyone into self destructive behavior.

Considering this takes place in 2001 my mother and father would either be dead or living under the Combine suppression field and I would have never been born either way. Jesus the Half-Life universe is realistic and terrifying like no other. That's why I love these games, because they openly invite you to think deeper about the implications of the stuff that happens in the world and are fertile ground for creative stuff like this great video here. It's a shame that Valve will never conclude this story because they're less concerned with making pieces of art and more the video-game equivalent of ADHD medication for dopamine addicted e-sports zoomers if Deadlock is anything to go by. Nice video.

My only nitpick is that there's no Race X vs. Xenians vs. HECU all-out fight like in field intensity (but, tbf, it does sounds complicated to write lol). That said, this is still the best half-life video yet only followed by Skyrionn's timeline video. Please do more of something like this!
