How to See Presentation Notes while presenting PowerPoint slides on Zoom
Zoom allows you to share different screens with your meeting participants. You can use PowerPoint to present slides in a clean visual format; however, how to access your presentation notes may be less clear. This video provides two ways to do this, one uses the most recent version of powerpoint and the other does not rely on what version of powerpoint you use. Instead we use the Portion of Screen Option in Zoom to show participants the slides while the presenter is still able to see their notes.
For reference I'm running Version 1808 of PowerPoint and Version 4.6.12 (20613.0421) of Zoom
In an update in December 2020 the first method seems to not work for some people. If you try this method and it does not work, please consider using the second method.

somehow I am missing the point. First we open Power point with notes, then open zoom, then share . Is this the format?
Excellent
Brilliant! Thank you. I was about to try to do a presentation with my powerpoint notes in a word document. Thank you for your simple, clear instructions!
Thank you so much for the video. Will try it for my presentation. I tried it on MacBook. I have Microsoft office installed on MacBook pro. Your second suggestion works i.e. you can share selected part of presenter view screen. Thanks again.
I see this function works in PPTX even when you are not sharing your screen. So, presumably you can use this with any screen share software like Teams and others?
thank for this guide, it helps me in my report.
Thank you so much for your simple explanation. This was a time saver and life saver for me today

Your a genius thank you. You saved my day😊
Super, thank You!
Amanda, you are a God's gift to this World!! I needed to get this figured out urgently, and after seeing 2 or 3 videos which claimed to show this, yours is the only one that actually worked. You are a god's send. Thank you and God bless you.
Argh..this was driving me nuts trying to figure out how to share my screen AND have my notes (without students being able to see), AND be able to see my students in zoom. Thanks so much for making this video!
You saved me for a presentation today, thank you!
Life saver. Thank you Amanda
Very helpful and you are awesome. Thank you

My performance anxiety vanished at 2:14. Thanks!
You are my hero, Amanda. Sending Love and best wishes from India 🙌🙌👍👍
The notes should really be on top, not on the side. When you read notes on the side, you can tell you're reading off your notes. Is there any way to put the notes on top?
I don't think there is a way to switch around where the windows are, but if you hover your mouse over the borders of the sections you can resize them. You can bring the notes pretty far up to the top, but only in their panel on the right so depending on the length of your notes you might start reading down near the end of the slide. Sorry I don't have any other tips.
Hi. I have a Mac as well. I'm just wondering if you can be able to put the viewers or participants on a side bar together with your slide, same as how it's being presented on other PC? I noticed that that viewers are popped out. If I keep it on the screen, it's blocking the slide. If I minimize it, I won't be able to see if my participants are listening. I can't fix it. I will be teaching soon to youths in our church and I want to see them while presenting my slide.
Thank you very much !
