Black Forest Hike "Hidden Church" near Oberharmersbach
People wonder how the Black Forest got its name... my stepfather explained that it is because the forest is so dense that it looks dark from a distance. Most pictures in the Black Forest that people share don't really show forest because there are such beautiful villages and farms in the valleys. I wanted to show the forest.

This field is actually quite a gentle slope compared to some of the fields farmers hay in the Black Forest. Notice the cat skittering out of the way after hunting mice. Some things are the same all over the world!
